Then they fired and changed up staff, but it was too late for those hungry for info, they just got more and more creative. I’m starting to think this might be true considering the whole tentacle thing. As for the disease part, there is something known as “Slenderman sickness.” Honestly this might not even be some virus and will just be a unique status effect the survivors will have to deal such as Doctors madness for example.
Yeah that was my first thought too. Ruthless said this power confirmed it was Kaneki but to me the power described seems a lot more like a Slenderman power.

I've never read or watched it, but I've watched or read many other anime/manga. That said; I think it could be something else, like a state of fear that applies effects to survivors, a special type of deep wound, or something related to hunger... I don't know, maybe even something that the entity conveniently modified in Kaneki so that Behavior would do something it found interesting. Who knows...
i agree with this being a MASSIVE reach, but in fairness the meter doesn't have to be actual disease, its just the leaker interpreting and comparing to what already exists. could just as well be like dredge nightfall or other similar hud effecting powers like sadako condemn, pinhead haunt etc. overall i wouldn't mind them adding anime killers, but the problem i have is with the source material itself. the horror genre is so different when it comes to anime and manga that interpreting it into dbd would be really hard since the source of the horror is usually some abstract concept, or a just a normal dude with a weapon. and on the other side you have the ""horror" anime/manga which are mostly just an shonen/action/thriller with lots of blood where the killer that would be added often wouldn't fit in dbd either because they would have to be giga nerfed or their motivations wouldn't align with the entity's

Dying Loght has way too much potential for just a paragraph, it just wouldn't be complete without someone like Kyle Crane and Aiden Caldwell as survivors, especially with how hyped people are for Kyle coming back in Dying Light the Beast.
"the mutant" literally makes no sense for Kaneki. He's a hybrid of both human and ghoul thanks to Rize's organs being used for his surgery after he was attacked by her and was gonna die. Calling him "the hybrid" or calling him what his nickname he had in the story called "the centipede" would've worked. "Mutant" works for Wesker or Nemesis,not Kaneki

Regardless if Kaneki is the next Killer or not: at least the TG Expos are getting free advertisements! That said, a Reveal trailer for TG in DBD would go hard! Imagine: 2 Survivors are working on a Generator when an injured guy comes running up and falls down near them. One of the Survivors with a Medkit runs over to them while the other continues to work on the Gen. As the one with the Medkit gets ready to start healing him, he says "Get Away". Both stop to look at him in shock; as his Kagune starts growing from his backside, and his hair slowly turns White. He then Looks up at them, 1 eye Normal & the other that of a Ghoul; as he says something like "I can't fight it any longer. Get away, Now!", as he then attacks.
A mummy skin has alot of potential they could even license Universals the mummy cause he can turn into a sandstorm for mobility. He can regenerate from a mummified state and become more powerful and his mori can be he opens his mouth wide and absorbs their life essence and the survivor turns into a pancake. And he could use scarabs. All just like the movie Imagine joining a dbd match and you hear "YOUR SOULS ARE MINE!"

i hope and pray its not tokyo ghoul being a chapter, i'm fine with cosmetics or kaneki being a survivor, but the entity is sealing his power, but he isnt a killer, most of my friends who have knowledge of TG said he wouldnt fit as a killer.
I don't think its an infection. I think kanekis power levels up like nemesis tentacles. As in the show kanekis tentacles do change in power and look with them looking more like centipedes when stronger.
If it wasn’t already so likely that this is Kaneki, I’d be thinking this could be a Slender Man Power. He has tentacles, there is indeed a “Slender Sickness”, and I’ve seen him be referred to as a sort of mutant before. I’m not saying I think this could be Slender, I’m sure it probably is Kaneki, but I’m just saying I would’ve gotten my hopes up without the Tokyo Ghoul leaks

It would make NO SENSE for it to be in DbD without Kyle Crane. The Slender Leaks were fake. The person who leaked houndmaster, also said Wesker cool down changes were coming and the leaked Houndmaster design wasn’t the base design for the killer, all of which was true and a 2.63% probability chance. This person is also the one who said Tokyo Ghoul is March. -Cote said more Japanese Licenses are coming -He also said March Chapter will create interesting conversations, A Dying Light chapter would not do this. -Tokyo Ghoul is having a collaboration announcement for it’s 10th Anniversary on December 21st, The last day the devs are in office before they go on break, Dead by Daylight is probably going to reveal it early just how they did with Ringu, Resident Evil and Five Nights at Freddy’s. -Junji Ito Collection proved they are testing the waters for Anime Chapters -On survey’s they also randomly asked for animes listed “Would you like to see these as chapters?” -The Creator of Tokyo Ghoul literally says “It’s ready. I *want* to see it.” Why would he say he “wants” to see it? Shouldn’t he already know what it looks like if he’s THE CREATOR of the series? Unless, It’s a collaboration that is kept behind closed doors. Before anyone says Ken Kaneki doesn’t work as a killer because he’s a protagonist, let me remind you that Spirit, Artist, Trapper and Deathslinger aren’t bad people. Not all of this is final, Which is why the post literally said “Any References to who it could be was removed.” This is probably because it was GOING to be an original chapter, but since they got the license to Tokyo Ghoul, they made the power for Kaneki. And if it was The Night Hunter, It wouldn’t have a generic human body. Tokyo Ghoul is 100% March.
I'd be curious if the playtest is actually for a chapter later than the March chapter. And given Behavior sometimes (whether intentional or unintentional) seems to have back-to-back chapters with similar concepts (Alien right after Singularity for example as two sci-fi, or Vecna getting a wheel that was included in the Knight rework), if we were to believe Tokyo Ghoul is the March license, Kaneki could have tentacles that interact with the world and after they added that basic code they could refine with a new ability on a different killer (like Slenderman being the one to pull survivors).
So, my theory for the march killer is that it seems more like the night hunter rather than kaneki. First of all, in the wiki it states that the hunter has tendrils that helps him traverse the map. Second it also states that the hunter has a spit ability which is most likely that disease meter

Disease doesn't sound like Kaneki whatsoever, at most it would be a cell counter for the killer himself, not for the survivor. Tentacles does make sense but the rest doesn't sound correct in the slightest.
Inb4 the killer is from Dying Light, and it has a launch skin that's Kaneki. Also explaining that it was a playtester that leaked, if true, gives BHVR a place to start properly looking for leakers and people to let go for it.
It wouldn't have a Kaneki skin for DYing Light as BHVR isn't allowed to "mix licenses" For example: A Resident Evil skin for a DBD character? Doable, a Resident Evil skin for a Silent Hill character? Nope! They said this when people asked if STranger Things VEcna would be a skin for D&D Vecna since the former was rumored when the latter was in development.
I don't mind Kaneki, but I am kinda hoping more for the Night Hunter as a new killer, where he has a passive like myers where he can "build up" his mutation, as for Tokyo Ghoul....I think if anything, they will just do cosmetics and maybe a legendary skin for one of their killers or survivors, as for whom, dunno.
Maybe this is the what Cotte meant when he said “People will b*tch about it.” And “To ask me in a year about this chapter” (paraphrasing). Maybe it will be the first chapter that has a protagonist as a killer. Its not out of the Entity’s power either to force/subjugate people into it’s services.
So is Rin (The Spirit), Adiris (Plague) and Charlotte (Twins). Their backstories are far from being evil but when it comes to the entity, that doesn't really matter.

More realistically would be to assume that the Night Hunter is the base killer. If they have Kaneki, he'd probably be an alternate skin for the Night Hunter, similar to the Titans.
I Doubt Kaneki would be a skin for Night Hunter. Mathew said in an interview they can’t make legendary skins of other characters for licensed killers unless said skin is from the same license. For instance, if Homelander was ever added as a killer and black noir was added as a skin then no the skin wouldn’t be for Ghostface. An instance of a skin like that being ok is Tiffany for Chucky.
No. They already confirmed that licensed killers will not have legendary skins from separate IP’s. (❌For example. Stranger Things Vecna as a skin for DND Vecna. ❌)
Probably won't happen, but The Game Awards is also next week and DbD has history with Geoff Keighley's shows, ala when Nicholas Cage showed up to Summer Games Fest for his midchapter release.
as someone that is a fan of tokyo ghoul since the beginning, i dont think that using tentacles to pull yourself to survivors is not something that kaneki would use. he uses more to damage people and throw people, not pull himself. This leak fits more nighthunter in my opinion, since in the "be the zombie" gameplay in dying light 1 he has a power to pull himself towards enemies and infect them.
This actually makes me think it IS NOT Kenaki because the ghouls in Tokyo Ghoul are not the results of a viral infection nor are they even undead. The "Ghoul" name is just a degragatory nickname given to a sub-species of human that evolved alongside homo sapien. So him, "infecting survivors" with his ghoulness makes no sense.
Isn't a new Dying Light game coming out? Dying Light: The Beast. Im pretty sure it's based on the main character of the first game, Kyle Crane. Who (spoilers) Turns into a NightHunter, Aka, a mutant zombie at the end of the dlc for the first game. And then is missing and referenced throughout the second game. So the third game is about him and possibly what happened to him after becoming a zombie. Considering the power and the mechanic of DL2 where you have an immunity meter from the virus that goes down if your in the dark. It kinda matches up.
Man, I don't understand, before they said it was Kayako, then they said Kayako was fake, now they're putting it in the middle that it's this Ken guy from Tokyo Ghoul, and they're saying that the killer has tentacles and a diseases, Cotte is right, everyone will complain about Slenderman because they don't accept this incredible killer.
And many Tokyo Ghoul fans are saying that this Kaneki does not transmit diseases, I have hope and I am sure that Slenderman fans have that it could be him in March

In Tokyo Ghoul's case, it would probably be the case of Kaneki as a killer and not a more evil Ghoul like Furuta or Jason, the idea of an anime chapter at all, or whether it's the Manga or Anime version. In Dying Light's case, I can see people complain about not having the GOAT Kyle Crane come into the game to represent DL as a survivor because, possibly, Crane could canonically be The Night Hunter. Grappling onto survivors sounds pretty cool. And if it is Kaneki and not Furuta, let alone The Night Hunter, I hope they'd at least call him "The Ghoul." "The Mutant" would be too cheesey. "The Centipede" would also be cool, for lore reasons.

I believe it to be a night hunter cause truthfully kaneki never had the ability to make people sick or poisoned and with the name “the mutation” while never confirmed the lore behind the night hunter is after Kyle crane mutates by the end of the following dlc due to him finally succumbing to the illness he was infected with at the start of the game and in the zombie mode when you would prestige your night hunter it was literally called mutations don’t get me wrong give me a Tokyo ghoul collab but kaneki as a stand alone killer uhhhhhhhhhhh

Im going to guess that this leak is either completely false or is so bare bones that the leaker couldnt grasp much at all about the chapter. Its possible that hitting a survivor applies a debuff that then would allow you to injure with your ability rather than only pulling you towards them. BHVR loves to do that for some reason, as if huntress doesnt exist..... I think pulling yourself to someone would be a cool ability, but id really like it if he could use it for more than just pulling. Giving him verticle terrain traversal would be nice, but BHVR would probably make so many bugs doing so. Nurse can do it, so it isn't impossible, I suppose, but unlikely.
Hey just letting you clear I was invited to check the dbd chapter 36 and 37 and they even let me play it. The two killer's name is just incomplete. And is just a big and tall version of legion without the jacket. This two killer's moving animation is incomplete. But The perks are one, see survivors auras for 18 seconds. Two, get faster every mori or hook kill. And three. Close all exit gates and switches for 75 seconds. Although the killer in 37's perks are unknown. And the weapon is incomplete as well. The chapter's name is not there at all because they rather did not bother with the name or just decided not to because it was bad is hilarious and is an indie game for 36 and a webseries for 37. So the information for chapter 36. The games is rather a horror game called baldi basics in education and learning with baldi as a killer. Or A indie new grounds game called Friday night funkin. With the lemon boy himself, lemon demon/monster as a killer. As for 37 webseries is rather. Battle for a dream island with evil leafy as the killer. Or comickpro with skitzo the bear as the killer.

No it wouldn’t, the ghoul doesn’t spread unless you’re born a ghoul or the organ of one is transplanted into you (which is more likely to kill you)

I don't think its an infection. I think kanekis power levels up like nemesis tentacles. As in the show kanekis tentacles do change in power and look with them looking more like centipedes when stronger.

If it wasn’t already so likely that this is Kaneki, I’d be thinking this could be a Slender Man Power. He has tentacles, there is indeed a “Slender Sickness”, and I’ve seen him be referred to as a sort of mutant before. I’m not saying I think this could be Slender, I’m sure it probably is Kaneki, but I’m just saying I would’ve gotten my hopes up without the Tokyo Ghoul leaks
You would never see Slender pulling himself towards survivors, he is not a high-mobility pursuer

Dying Light would have to be a full chapter. It would make NO SENSE for it to be in DbD without Kyle Crane.
The Slender Leaks were fake. The person who leaked houndmaster, also said Wesker cool down changes were coming and the leaked Houndmaster design wasn’t the base design for the killer, all of which was true and a 2.63% probability chance. This person is also the one who said Tokyo Ghoul is March.

-He also said March Chapter will create interesting conversations, A Dying Light chapter would not do this.

Why would he say he “wants” to see it? Shouldn’t he already know what it looks like if he’s THE CREATOR of the series? Unless, It’s a collaboration that is kept behind closed doors.
Before anyone says Ken Kaneki doesn’t work as a killer because he’s a protagonist, let me remind you that Spirit, Artist, Trapper and Deathslinger aren’t bad people. They got manipulated by the entity. And Kaneki is no different.
If The Entity places him in the trials without the coffee that keeps him sustained, He’s going to have to kill and eat humans to survive. Which makes him viable as a killer.
We have to understand that this is a TEST power and a test name. Just like how Dracula was named “The Shapeshift” in his early builds.
Not all of this is final, Which is why the post literally said “Any References to who it could be was removed.” This is probably because it was GOING to be an original chapter, but since they got the license to Tokyo Ghoul, they made the power for Kaneki. And if it was The Night Hunter, It wouldn’t have a generic human body.

I'd be curious if the playtest is actually for a chapter later than the March chapter. And given Behavior sometimes (whether intentional or unintentional) seems to have back-to-back chapters with similar concepts (Alien right after Singularity for example as two sci-fi, or Vecna getting a wheel that was included in the Knight rework), if we were to believe Tokyo Ghoul is the March license, Kaneki could have tentacles that interact with the world and after they added that basic code they could refine with a new ability on a different killer (like Slenderman being the one to pull survivors).
As someone who just... wasn't all that impressed with the Tokyo Ghoul anime, I hope it's Night Hunter. I'd rather have another monster-like killer.
The anime is not the standard for tokyo ghoul. It is one of the worst adaptations ever. The manga is 10 times better then the anime.

So, my theory for the march killer is that it seems more like the night hunter rather than kaneki. First of all, in the wiki it states that the hunter has tendrils that helps him traverse the map. Second it also states that the hunter has a spit ability which is most likely that disease meter
instead of the mutant he should be called The Hybrid considering he got organ transplants from Rize

Disease doesn't sound like Kaneki whatsoever, at most it would be a cell counter for the killer himself, not for the survivor. Tentacles does make sense but the rest doesn't sound correct in the slightest.

More realistically would be to assume that the Night Hunter is the base killer. If they have Kaneki, he'd probably be an alternate skin for the Night Hunter, similar to the Titans.
I Doubt Kaneki would be a skin for Night Hunter. Mathew said in an interview they can’t make legendary skins of other characters for licensed killers unless said skin is from the same license. For instance, if Homelander was ever added as a killer and black noir was added as a skin then no the skin wouldn’t be for Ghostface. An instance of a skin like that being ok is Tiffany for Chucky.

as someone that is a fan of tokyo ghoul since the beginning, i dont think that using tentacles to pull yourself to survivors is not something that kaneki would use. he uses more to damage people and throw people, not pull himself. This leak fits more nighthunter in my opinion, since in the "be the zombie" gameplay in dying light 1 he has a power to pull himself towards enemies and infect them.

Kaneki wasn't a killer that was literally his character to show that ghouls could live among humans not to kill them.
Mathew Cote's hint for this next killer was that it'd make people "b*tch about it." In Tokyo Ghoul's case, it would probably be the case of Kaneki as a killer and not a more evil Ghoul like Furuta or Jason, the idea of an anime chapter at all, or whether it's the Manga or Anime version.
In Dying Light's case, I can see people complain about not having the GOAT Kyle Crane come into the game to represent DL as a survivor because, possibly, Crane could canonically be The Night Hunter.
Edit: Come to think of it, I think it could be The Night Hunter, because why would Kaneki have an infection meter?
Either way, I hope this next killer will be very interesting. Grappling onto survivors sounds pretty cool. And if it is Kaneki and not Furuta, let alone The Night Hunter, I hope they'd at least call him "The Ghoul." "The Mutant" would be too cheesey. "The Centipede" would also be cool, for lore reasons.

Im going to guess that this leak is either completely false or is so bare bones that the leaker couldnt grasp much at all about the chapter.
Its possible that hitting a survivor applies a debuff that then would allow you to injure with your ability rather than only pulling you towards them. BHVR loves to do that for some reason, as if huntress doesnt exist.....
I think pulling yourself to someone would be a cool ability, but id really like it if he could use it for more than just pulling. Giving him verticle terrain traversal would be nice, but BHVR would probably make so many bugs doing so.

Hey just letting you clear I was invited to check the dbd chapter 36 and 37 and they even let me play it. The two killer's name is just incomplete. And is just a big and tall version of legion without the jacket. This two killer's moving animation is incomplete. But The perks are one, see survivors auras for 18 seconds. Two, get faster every mori or hook kill. And three. Close all exit gates and switches for 75 seconds. Although the killer in 37's perks are unknown. And the weapon is incomplete as well. The chapter's name is not there at all because they rather did not bother with the name or just decided not to because it was bad is hilarious and is an indie game for 36 and a webseries for 37. So the information for chapter 36. The games is rather a horror game called baldi basics in education and learning with baldi as a killer. Or A indie new grounds game called Friday night funkin. With the lemon boy himself, lemon demon/monster as a killer. As for 37 webseries is rather. Battle for a dream island with evil leafy as the killer. Or comickpro with skitzo the bear as the killer.
