Ya but those are expensive, that's the main idea of videos like this. To show you a cheaper creative way to do it. The drill one probably only cost $100 total. $90 for the drill & $10 for the zip ties. The parts for 1st one was pretty expensive & harder to find though but I would still choose that over the motorized wheel cause it's creative & funny. I would be very proud of myself if I could do that. The motorized wheel is fine I guess but I wouldn't be proud of myself, I'd just be like "iieet, I bought something & stuck it on my bike in 4 minutes. Whatevz."
@@HelloHello-hk4sx I welded a drill to a bicycle in the way in the video. The drill burned up so I destroyed my "$100 drill".
I had more faith in the chainsaw methods and that didnt work either. So I destroyed a chainsaw and a drill following these only "cheaper ways". So now I have a drill that doesnt work, a chainsaw that will never cut wood again, and a bicycle that is still pedal powered. My point isnt that I wasted money because I have a lot of junk lying around. If the wheel with a motor in it works then it is 100% more worth it in resources and labor alone.
I also welded the drill directly to the pedal at a 90 to get the gear advantage and still a no go so yeah this video is not only misleading with the motorized wheel, it is fake.
The jet engine style one is bad ass.

If you didn't know a 24 volt EDF can blow your face off
I have used 24 EDF on some projects and it blew a hole in styrofoam!!!
This blower is so powerfull it made my air pool full in 3sec i belive that he moved this fast with 3of them

I just sit on the little rack in the back and have my methed out friend peddle the bike works pretty good

Did anyone try No.2? I'm concerned whether a simple electric screwdriver can generate enough power to spin the rear wheel under weight sat on a bike.
What are the specs for the cordless drill ? The volt and torque ( in Nm ) . I tried and the tyre moves when I test it above ground. However , once it ouches the ground , it doesn't move. Please help me. Thanks

No! You'll burn up a drill when the tire forces it to keep rotating when coasting. You need to use it with the sprocket and chain
Not if you used a really powerful one with like at least a 24v setup because I’m pretty sure this one is 18v
make a hydraulic clutch to disengage the drill when coasting lolll

Actually number 2 has lots of advantages ( could carry extra batteries ) but I see 1 that it needs . a doubled plate lower one rigid and static ,top one for drill to sit on with a bolt as hinge or swivel so that it can be shut off by 1 cable and adjusted to contact or disengaged with another. Then it could be freewheeled on downgrades and pedaled on relatively flat zones . Much more efficient for longer trips ,but its still amazing . Thanks to the creator of the idea..

How many kilometers can the second and third methods cover?
2nd. 0.1km; 3rd. 150 km, don't matter which way it is spinning and beyond without spinning.

Videos like these... you start out with an actual kit that works and is pretty freaking awesome. But than move on to the drill which, while it may "work" but would be extremely slow, loud, and would drain the battery superbly fast (if the thermal fuse doesn't blow first). And then you end with the edf powered bike.... totally fake, going to just be blunt. You were clearly going down hill and the video may have been sped up. Yes, edfs exist that would easily push that bike. And quite fast as well. But powering it off of two 12 volt batteries? Especially because you were using a pwm motor driver not even made for edfs, that wouldn't have even been enough power to keep you coasting on a flat smooth road. You had such a great video... and then you ended it with that lie.

Batteries are theissue either too heavy or no ah lithium is only real deal ,20 miles
Pulse-jet. easy build, and so loud they wake up the dead. But powerful enough. The jet could maybe drive a generator driving an electromotor or maybe use a miniature Thorium reactor driving a stirling -type motor. Or : catapult yourself to your destination with linear electric accellarators. Much faster. but return trip longer, unfortunately.......
