- Most probably one of the top 10 hits songs from the previous decade in Papua New Guinea. The song was #1 on Yumi FM (PNG FM) for a consecutive number of weeks. #1 on FM 100 during 2005 and 2006. This video clip continuously aired for weeks on the CHM Music Video Program. Sare Nunua worked at CHM that time...hehe. Music Video shot and produced by Steven Matainaho (me) and Teatulohi Matainaho. Shot on the Islands of Mortlock in Bougainville, Papua New Guinea. Some footage was later taken in Buka and UNITECH, Lae due to the need to 'emphasize' the meaning of the story. If you were based in Papua New Guinea during that time, listening to this will bring back good memories...

I first listened to this song in Russia's Naval base city of Petropavlovsky. I was on board MT Manolos of Islands Salvage & Towage Ltd based here in Rabaul, PNG. Its just brings all those memories back to me. It was 2006 but its still has the vibes, big respect to the band members, Love the music arrangements, true island style music. Even its 2023, listening to it just breaks my heart. Honest to God. I was a young sailor that time, my girlfriend who was my workmate was expecting our baby and left me in South Korea nad came back to PNG. The officer who replaced her brought that CD all the way to S/Korea and we sailed to Russia, it was the only PNG music CD we had on-board. "Kar, burukin lewa ya". Those high seas condition just cant match all the LOVE in the music. This was the song that kept me strong and always drove to come back safe to PNG and see my lovely baby and her mother whom I am married to for over 20 years now. All GLORY to GOD in Heaven.

I first heard this song in 2006 when I was in Grade 9 up in Jiwaka Province. It became my favorite even though I never understood any part of the lyrics. I would sing parts of this song during the weekends. I admired the scene where the video was captured. I've decided to set foot one day on the island where the video was captured. Nice sandy beaches and coconut trees.
In 2021, I eventually set foot on the Atolls Islands in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville. Loved the beautiful sandy beaches there. Nice place for tourism industry. From Carterets to Fead, on to Tasman and Motlock. Very nice and beautiful islands. If only the Autonomous Bougainville Government looks seriously into the Tourism industry, this insudtry would definitely boost Bougainvilles economy.

Deep in the mountains of Central Province in our village in Goilala we would gather around our uncle's house just to listen to the FM on the weekends. We would tie an aerial of the radio on top of a long bamboo so we can pick the frequency under the Owen Stanley Range. This song was a hit in those days. Brings back memories of my elementary days.
