    Thanks. I suspect that there are definitely occasional games where we've forgotten about the bonus received when other players perform that action 😬

    Can I choose the mill tile as one of my production hexes and produce on it again as a bonus, in other words will it produce double if I choose it?

      Hi, thanks for watching. No, you may only produce on a hex once per turn.

    We were playing 2 player enlist wrong. Not sure you covered it. We incorrectly understood the rules to mean your opponent, in 2 player, gets the ongoing bonus only once per game. But they wrote that rule for the smarta** who would say they’re technically both the left and right player and take the bonus twice, a thought that never crossed our minds. The rules should’ve maybe instead said in 2 player you are only the left player of your opponent.

    • @StevenStJohn-kj9eb
      @StevenStJohn-kj9eb  3 года назад

      That might be worth covering - I know you aren't the only one to read that in a way other than what was intended. Your description of the kind of rules lawyer who would claim they are both on the left and the right was pretty apt.

      @@StevenStJohn-kj9eb But in a 2 player game do you still get the enlist benefit if you take the bottom row action (even if more than once in that game)? And you only get the benefit 1 time if the other player takes the bottom row action?

    • @StevenStJohn-kj9eb
      @StevenStJohn-kj9eb  2 года назад +1

      Regardless of the player count, you gain the bonus of your enlisted recruit every time you or your neighbor takes the action. There is no special rule for 2p.

    • @StevenStJohn-kj9eb
      @StevenStJohn-kj9eb  2 года назад +1

      Note that the rule book does make a comment about 2p, but only to point out that you aren't both on the player's right *and* left, which could confuse players into thinking they got a double bonus each time.

    How can we decide which player will get benefits of that enlist action, left OR right? How do we choose?

    • @StevenStJohn-kj9eb
      @StevenStJohn-kj9eb  4 года назад

      Not sure exactly what you are referring to. The one-time bonus is for the person enlisting. The ongoing bonus is given to everyone who is entitled to it. The ongoing bonus is something you always take whenever you or one of your neighbors takes the relevant bottom row action.

      @@StevenStJohn-kj9eb he’s asking what happens when both the left and right neighbors are entitled to a non-fungible bonus such as draw a card because of an enlist. Which neighbor goes first? I have noticed by playing the digital edition that the right neighbor draws first.

      @@soldieroffortune308 If that's what Steam does, Steam does it wrong. The active player goes first, then the player to the active player's left, then the player to the active player's right (page 20 of the rule book).
      But I don't think that's what the person was asking. Their question seemed to imply that they misunderstood Enlist bonuses - that they thought they go to other players. I have seen this misunderstanding before: "Why would I ever Enlist? I don't want my opponents to get a benefit." But the commenter didn't clarify, so who knows.

      This is a confusing comment - I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to say. There are 4 1-time bonuses from recruits: either 2 coins, 2 power, 2 combat cards, or 2 popularity. That's explained in the video. There are also 4 ongoing bonuses: 1 power when you or your neighbors Upgrade, 1 coin when you or your neighbors Deploy, 1 popularity when you or your neighbors Build, and 1 combat card when you or your neighbors Enlist. This is all explained in the video, but your comment implies something was left out. What are you saying is left out?

      @@j-mgillam4202 As the title says: You've been playing that wrong! You do NOT get the popularity from the "Build" recruit when you Enlist. The one-time bonuses (2 power/2 popularity/2 coins/2 cards) are on the faction mat. The ongoing bonuses are on the player mat.
