    Here's how I make waterproof stickers using my Cricut Explore Air 2! For this method I'll be explaining how I do the Full-Page Cricut hack. This method is great because you can get an entire page of stickers as opposed to just 4 x 6 inches.
    ⬇️ Written steps are listed below ⬇️

    This is the video where I learned to do the full page hack - • Trick your Cricut to d...
    ✍️ Here's a written description of my process: ✍️
    1. Make an 8.5" x 11" canvas in Photoshop, align your sticker design on the page (I use a dark colour as a layer behind my sticker design so I can easily align them)
    2. Create 4 squares - one in each corner of the canvas. Make the square 0.25" x 0.25" in size using the 'Fixed Size' menu drop down
    - Fill in the square with white using the paintbucket tool
    - Press 'V' to use the move tool, then press Ctrl + A or CMD + A (on mac) to 'Select All' - this allows you to then use the Align tool at the top of the screen.
    - Align each square - one to each corner
    3. Make sure you do not leave your background colour on. Save your sticker page as a PNG
    4. Print your design with the Glossy Photo Paper setting, make sure 'Borderless Print' is NOT selected
    5. Using a clear adhesive label, carefully smooth it over the sticker page using a roller or plastic card.
    6. You can use Cricut design space to cut out your alignment border for the sticker page. In Cricut Design Space, make an 8.5" x 11" rectangle, align the X + Y to '0'. Use painter's tape to cover your cricut mat. With the 'sticky note' paper setting selected, cut out your rectangle. Now you can put your sticker sheet inside that cut-out area.
    7. In the Cricut Design Space, open your saved PNG and select “Complex Design”. Import your design into the workspace, and make sure you re-size it to 8.5 x 11, and have the X + Y axis both at Zero. Now click 'Make It' and select the paper type as “Photo Paper”.
    - You can change the blade pressure in the 'Material Settings' - I put it at the max setting for this cut. Also make sure you change the other blade pressure to “MORE”.
    8. Load your mat into the Cricut machine and press the load button. Once you are ready to cut, press the cricut button. Your stickers are now being cut!
    That's it! If you have any questions, please feel free to leave them in the comments section.

    • @mooneyesart
      @mooneyesart  3 года назад +1

      Hi Chontese! Yes it does - the reason is because the lamination is self-adhesive laminating sheets, which means they only stick to one side (not all the way around like traditional lamination would). 😊 I hope this answers your question!

    • @mooneyesart
      @mooneyesart  3 года назад

      Hi Moazzma, it depends on the quality of printer you have - for lower end at-home printers, it's better to have your sticker sheets printed at an actual print shop or Staples. But for higher end at-home printers, or laser printers, you can print on waterproof vinyl no problem. Hope this helps! 😊

    Here's an option that works: peel back and adhere about a 1/4" of the clear sticker along the whole 8.5" edge of the color printout. Now, peel off the rest of the backing away, holding it apart from the color sheet. Feed that small adhered edge into the cold laminator, holding the sticker and printout apart, and let it naturally feed together into the laminator. What comes out is a perfectly applied clear sticker, with no air bubbles. This saves applying/rubbing by hand and rolling by hand, and the end result looks better. This is our method at my print shop.

    This is a great tutorial! Couple things that might help….
    If your cricut mat has lost its tack, you can wash them with Dawn dish soap, and a sponge. You can also use a repositionable glue to retack after washing if desired, or if you want it stickier.
    As for not cutting all the way through, DO NOT UNLOAD after the cut! Instead, immediately press the go button again and it will cut the same pattern in the same place, and voila! You can do this multiple times if you need to!

    • @mooneyesart
      @mooneyesart  3 года назад +12

      Hi Green Grapes! What I do to make the tape border is cut out an 8.5 x 11 inch square in the Cricut app. You'll just need to put a bunch of painters tape on the mat, and then cut out a box from it.
      Making a box in the cricut design space is easy - you just need to use the rectangle tool, adjust the size to 8.5 x 11, and align the X and Y axis to '0'. Use the Cut (not print then cut!) method to cut out your alignment box.
      Hope this helps!! Let me know if you have any other questions :)

    How can I do this without Photoshop? Every video I find has some extra step but they r all these different services... I just has Procreate and the cricut.... (Not paying for design space)

    • @mooneyesart
      @mooneyesart  3 года назад

      Hi bubbly! You can make a template in Procreate for sure. The only difference is that you will need to make a marking in each corner (you can just use the paint brush at 100% opacity). Basically, the marks in the corner will stop the Cricut Design App (free version, I don't pay for it either!) from incorrectly sizing your template (you will still need to make sure it's 8.5 x 11 inches in the Cricut design app though).
      Just make the marks in the corners, make sure your background is transparent, and place your sticker designs on the page (as long as they all have white borders created around them). Then export as a PNG. Will work exactly the same as Photoshop! ☺️
      I hope this helps! I go over it in more detail on my blog link - there's a link to it in the description of this video. Let me know if you have any more questions :)

      Hi Kuulei! I will definitely be making a bumper sticker video soon! For the laminate concern, I think that it may be the matte paper which is the issue (only vinyl paper will work since the paper backing on matte paper will allow water to seep through). I do recommend trying with vinyl first before buying a cold press laminate :) hope this helps!

      They create the Whole cut image to be the size of your sticker paper so that when you line it up on your mat to 0 it matches the placement. If you didn't have those place holders the images would scoot up the page too much and your would not get it aligned correctly.

      Hi Lunacias, I've run into an issue when doing multiple runs of the same sticker page, the only solution I've come to so far is to close out of the design after I've cut out the page, and then open it again. Cricut is really finicky but this seems to work for me. However you may want to try recalibrating your machine if they are off by a lot. Moving the sticker page over a little bit before cutting may help with the alignment. I explain this in my latest video - I leave the painter's tape in the same place, but place the sticker page over a really tiny amount (depending on which way the cuts are misaligned) and restart the cutting process. This usually gives me perfect cuts!

      Hi Sarah, I use the Canon Pixma Pro-100 for printing my stickers. Unfortunately I do not have recommendations for a printer/scanner combo as those tend to not be as good at producing quality prints. A laser printer would be better if you can get one around 300 - $500 CAD price range. A decent scanner you can buy on Amazon or Walmart for around $50 CAD.
      Alternatively, you can take your vinyl sticker paper sheets and designs on a USB drive to a Staples, or any printing store. They can print on the vinyl for you with very high quality printers, for around $1 or less per sheet. Hope this helps! 😊

    • @mooneyesart
      @mooneyesart  3 года назад

      Hi Aiko! I don't have much experience with using different laminator sheets. The issue you may run into is that bubbles may be created when using just the laminating machine. Also you won't be able to use laminator sheets that come with the machine since they are double-sided, and will seal your sticker backing inside the sheet.

    • @mooneyesart

      Hi Raquel, at 1:58 I am peeling the backing off of the Single Sided adhesive laminate, not the stickers. This is so I can stick the clear adhesive to the front of the sticker sheet. It gives the stickers extra protection and helps them not get scratched. You don't need this if you buy waterproof vinyl, but you will find the stickers don't last as long without it.

      @mooneyesart  2 года назад

      Hi Kimberly, sorry for the late reply! Yes you can def use a roller, I used a roller before I switched to a cold laminate machine. I do recommend the cold laminate machine though as you can apply a part of the adhesive onto one side of the sticker page and then peel off the backing as it's going through the cold press laminate.
      And yes, matte should be fine but the laminate will make it glossy unless you bought a matte laminate :)

If it's the same brand as the one I listed in the video, the trick is to go very slowly over the page (like a 1/2 inch at a time) to ensure no bubbles form. If small bubbles happen you can use a pen knife to poke the bubble and smooth it out. And a cold press laminator might help as well!

      Hi Joyce, I was having issues with that when trying to cut a new page after just finishing a page. I find I have to exit the sticker page I'm working on, and open it up again. For some reason this fixes inconsistent cuts.
      You may also want to try going through and recalibrating your machine, to see if it's an issue with the sensors.

      I believe you can, although I have not tested the longevity of it, I have seen other people saying that you should be able to :)

      Hi Dalma, you can use the stickers without the laminate paper, but keep in mind it will scratch easily and not be as waterproof.

    Hiya there! I had a quick question about alignment towards the end? Everything for me was going great until when my cricut was cutting the stickers, and the cut was off, making the sticker misaligned? I don't know if you've ever encountered that, but I just wanted to ask cause I really would like to use this method more in the future!! Thank you so much for the tutorial, love your style and stickers by the way c:

      Hi Reeha, thanks for the kind words! I do run into that problem from time to time, sometimes it's just due to a weird cricut update, or if my mat loses it's stickiness it can make things misaligned too. If the cricut is always cutting the same row of stickers as misaligned, you can try to re-calibrate your machine through the cricut app. I also had a lot of help from customer support - it took a few days for them to get back to me at first, but they were helpful in solving my alignment issues. :)

      I'm struggling with this too! almost seems like the cut file gets warped or something because the whole page isn't shifted in the same way

      I have this problem with the cut file being “warped” too!! The cuts will be off but not in the same direction so I can’t just move the page over slightly 😕
