No need to apologize you both have had a rough go of it this year. I would tune in each week just to watch the chickens and dogs and you two chatting about daily chores.I really enjoy your channel and I thank you for taking us along on your journey. I really hope 2024 is all you hope for.

No apologies necessary. We look forward to all of your posts so we can live vicariously through your videos of wonderful Alaska. If I was younger, I would buy that cabin for sale on a neighboring island I saw. From what we have seen, the Juneau area is beautiful and temperate. You guys continue to Live Free and may God bless you.

I appreciated hearing the update on your family. I knew your dad was not doing well but was not aware that he had passed. A lot of smiles and appreciation to your family for often folding me in as I grew up. I stayed up new year's eve not to welcome 2024 in but to make sure 2023 was gone. Hoping 2024 is kinder. Rob R.

To be honest, I really enjoy your everyday life, and I don’t consider it to be mundane or repetitive. You show how challenging it can be to live the off grid lifestyle that you both love so much. Part and parcel with that is family situations and injuries.

We,too, have had a tough 2023 with health problems but thankfully they are resolved now and we are looking forward to a better year in 2024. Do you worry about bears climbing onto your boat and destroying it ? I’ve seen folks drive nails in a 2x10 board to keep bears away. Maybe you could do that around the boat. Stay safe and God bless.

Any content you put out is good content. It is always worth the wait. I do hope 2024 is easier than last year for you all. It seems like my husband and i have had almost 10 years of getting hit. I really have to look at all the good things that have also happened or the weight of everything would be to much. We went out to dinner tonight with our 3 kids ( sounds weird when i say that when our oldest is 44 and our youngest is 35 ) 😅and our 3 grandsons. Our first grandchild turned 16 today !!! It will be strange because i have always drove him around when his parents couldn’t and now he will be driving hisself. Life goes by really fast. Have a Great week and Thanks for sharing.

Hail from the Oil Patch in Central WY,
I'd love to see more 'in depth' aspects of your Crabbing, and hopefully, Shrimping as well, and Netting of Salmon during the Run, including the actual cooking of same, perhaps some recipes that you use.
I must also request/beg for a Return to 'Wood Stove Wednesdays'.....I LOVED those sessions, where you two speaking about the 'daily stuff' within the scope of your 'weekly plans', 'monthly plans', and 'seasonal plans'........it was quite wonderful.
Fuel consumption for your new boat vs your old boat, ranges, and on a 'Woodstove Wednesday', go into it as well about Boat Handling in various conditions; the good, the bad, the ugly, and down right "Should we put on the Mustang Suits?' variations.
Lastly, I didn't see your other furry child along with you on your outing, so hopefully the child is doing well and just decided to stay at home in the warm cabin and snooze!
Take care y'all, I think about you both, wishing you well, and yes, even the occasionally prayer to the Lord for your safety, relief from stress, and improvements in health are sent heaven-ward for you!
Cheers from the Oil Patch in Central WY

      Hey there y'all!
VERY happy to hear that WSW will be back and yes, I agree, 'live' feeds can be really fun, but I have to stridently watch myself, because I have a 100Gb Data Limit per month, and with live feeds, one can 'lose track' of time all too readily!
However, I'll join in for a bit (usually at the beginning) and enjoy the festivities!
Today, my back has finally eased up on me, after moving 200 lbs of kitty litter into the house and the into 'bus tubs' (I use them as litter boxes for the kids), so I'm exceedingly please to note that for the first time in 3 months, we have REAL Liter Boxes up and running (instead of everything on the floor)!!!! ("And the crowd goes wild!")
Last 3 days have been less than desirable, with limited use of my Walking Corpse, but today was definitely a "Hubba, Hubba" day!
Anywho, plan to get things done in the garage this weekend; paying keen attention to 'do's' and 'don't do's' as the Walking Corpse commands.....then put stuff up on FB and Craig's List for sale.
Icelandic Chickens do QUITE well in 'colder locales', but I'm still in favor of some breeds of ducks for y'all (Silver Appleyards, or Anconas, etc., they keep laying during Winter times temps....much better lay rate during cold than chickens).
Take care y'all, STAY HEALTHY, and enjoy the Salt Water for me will you.....I miss it something fierce!
Cheers from the Oil Patch in Central WY

If you didn't post regularly, we'd all understand, as long as ya'll were ok. If you want a little adventure out of the ordinary, may I recommend Disney World in Orlando, FL. Hello from south central Alaska well the winter time is always a tough time for creativity as far as youtube goes we are in our winter routine just trying to make it to spring. I am excited to see the sawmill up and running. I think your trees will make beautiful lumber for all your building needs. As far as chickens I have found new chicks added every 3 years is about right to keep the egg production were we want it. Not to many and not to few and also being able to keep feed costs under control. The one thing you don't want to overlook is your happiness so this summer GET OUT EXPLORE LAUGH AND ENJOY THE BEAUTIFUL AREA GOD HAS GIVEN YOU TO ENJOY. I pray 2024 is kinder and gentler to you two. Thank you for sharing God Bless

I am pretty sure that those of us that watch would watch if you just strapped a chest cam on (keep the beard out of the way? :P ) and went about your day; Take us with you to check the batteries, feed the chickens, do any mending or whatever, every week. Throw in anything that happens of interest and just let the rest happen for us. I watch to see Alaska, see how you folks, the dogs and chickens are doing and just to dream about being in Alaska the next time. What a rough year for you guys, so sorry for the tough times. Things seem to be looking up, though, at least I hope they are. Thank You for the hard work you do of filming and editing, it is awesome to see!
