No, it means the developers don't know how to balance the game to feel challenging and yet rewarding so they spread the balance into several artificially made difficulty settings that just increase/decrease the base stats of players and enemies.

Streaming is basically the equivalent of playing a game under duress. If you take too much time reading tutorials/figuring things out, people get bored and leave. So a lot of streamers skip past dialogue/low-interaction content because it's not interesting for an audience watching. Tactical (ACTUAL TACTICAL, NO COD) shooters need you to be patient, take your time, and take fights carefully. This works against any streamer whose goal is to make content as entertaining and interesting as possible. In that sense, STALKER is the worst game for a streamer to play, especially if they don't know how the game works from the get go. Asmond is not a shooter player, let alone a Stalker player.
@@steamfeuver bro stop coping. your favourite streamer is trash at playing games and only is good for low effort react content. how come other streamers arent as bad as him while skipping tutorials? he didnt even skip most of them he just couldnt comprehend it
The difficulty on Veteran is implemented horribly so I don't blame him. You have to blast a bloodsucker 20 times with buckshot because for some reason GSC decided to give them armor so you need AP bullets. For a fleshy mutant. Tbh without A-life, this game is not even worth playing, so he did the right thing. I'm saying this and I absolutely loved the originals and I still regularly play Anomaly and Gamma. I'll stick to those until this game is playable.
@@Nickyreaper2008 Veteran difficulty reduces player damage down to 0.85x which is utter bs while Bloodsuckers and other mutants already have insanely high HP pools for absolutely no reason. The bloodsucker is an agile stealth killer, not a tanky thick mutant... Also there is A-life in the game present, upcoming patch notes are about fixing it so its definitely there and I've seen bandits and stalkers fight across the zone. I find the game playable and better than Anomaly/Gamma in some aspects but not every and so much is still broken right now its truly bothersome but not bad enough for me not to at least do one playthrough but Gamma is where im gonna stay afterwards for now. Also im sitting on like 600 AK ammo (200 AP) and im just at Garbage/second area of the game while having like 30 spare medkits, bandages and swimm in food and supplies. I am a game developer who is around 6 years older and probably played as many games as Asmon. This video here is either pure show or a complete disgrace on how to access a game the first time. I am sorrowful seeing this because the developers of this game, despite the bugs and very difficult development environment, managed to make the game pretty accessible at the start. But ignoring literally 90% of this and then running around like a headless chicken can't be blamed on the game mechanics. That is, again, disgraceful and very ignorant. I am ok with the statement that this game is good but nothing for him - but on the other hand, he did not put the minimum effort to understand the base mechanics who are part of the game design. IF he would act like this in POE, POE II, WoW or any Souls game, he could not play any of these games altogether. I normally don't care that he gives a skit on everything, and I watch his stream and videos regularly - but this here is the first time I can't be on the "all cool guys" side. That game deserves a little better - despite its rough start, and probably a couple more months of polish.

Back in the days, we got our Music Production Studio a new and unique mastering mixer. 4 metres long, 500 kilo. It took two years to build it and the creator said it will take around 1-2 years during daily usage to tune it. But then.. it will last for decades, alongside minor material-altering. If people would know more about this stuff, they would be less ducky when a game does not release 100% perfect. Yes, 15 years ago, this was less common but does anyone remember why Game Magazines with CDs were the hot skit? Because of the bugfixes for several games. But back then, a wall in Unreal Tournament consisted of two vertices and a simple texture. There were no Nanite Overdraw problems, Lumen card resolutions to take care of. The difficulty of keeping things bugfree raised and UE5 for sure is not the saint and savor for everything - the opposite, I would claim as UE5 dev. Does all of my talk here makes sense? Maybe not. It wouldn't be any better at rookie difficulty because he simply skips every tutorial and text on the screen because he thinks he knows better. Besides, he would never choose the lower difficulty yet alone the lowest one. Because of his ego. Rookie is for people who have never even played shooters. If you're familiar with shooter mechanics and can read, stalker difficulty is easily doable. If you're *good* at shooter mechanics and can read, veteran is also doable. You don't need to know anything about the franchise to play either difficulty. I don't know what is with stalker fans that have them believing that they're hot shit compared to other gamers, and that you need dozens of hours in the franchise in order to play it on hard.

If you run into a group while you're out exploring and there's no solid cover nearby, you're completely screwed despite the map having a ridiculous amount of foliage everywhere, I mean for a radiation filled wasteland, it sure does have a fucking lot of it. It puts the player at a disadvantage when every NPC has virtual X-ray vision and knows exactly where you are at all times unless you leave the area and start the encounter again, and that's if you're lucky.

This game is too hard to play on stream on veteran difficulty for the first time ever trying a game like this. All of the handholding and coddling is gone. No health bars running around during combat, no sidekick telling you everything you have to do all the time, no cursor leading you through to the next thing always. Even NPC's aren't okay with you running up to them with a gun pointed at them. These are the things that have made games dumbed down but now people are just used to it. Dependent on all of the hand holding. Sad times.
I mean this game does hold your hand to be fair. It's not a true stalker experience at all. Your objective is written on screen and marked at all times. You get a UI element showing you when a hostile npc is detecting you and from which direction. The game is also incredibly static with no A-Life system so you can cheese AI and spawns easily to get infinite meds and ammo. The original games gave you a fraction of the info this game does and the AI and spawns were not only dynamic but a lot smarter and more sneaky.

The problem with STALKER2 (as someone who’s never played them before) is that this game reminds me of Metro Exodus which is in my top 5 FPS games ever. Also reminds me a bit of Fallout New Vegas, which is in my top 5 games period. That’s an issue for a father, a husband and a business owner-operator. Where’s the time?! This game needs tons of updates, patches and system reworks. But the devs seem to be listening and responding to those issues. Once address: STALKER2 may possibly be a legitimate 10/10 game. From the very little I’ve played, this game is looking like the FPS - “Baldur’s Gate”. What I mean is, nobody outside of the fanbase could have expected this game to be such a success, and nobody besides the fanbase expected this to actually be a perfectly scored game. I really cannot stop nerding-out over the game. If you like RPGs, if you like FPS’ and if you’re into survival horror (not really scary) then STAKER2 offers a bit of it all, done right too! Anyways, done pooping… gonna go play for a little bit, buy it and support the devs. They deserve it.
Fuck Metro Exodus it's Karma System. That's the only thing i hate about it. The other Games in the Series made that so much better to play. Losing Karma for failing Stealth (Even if you don't kill them) NPCS Wallhacking and seeing you through Walls, making you fail Stealth again and again. Not being able to actual Save when you want, and instead be dependet on AutoSaves that fuck up your progress if you get unlucky. It is such a good game with weird choices.
@ I don’t recall having or running into any stealth or AI related issues in Exodus. The Karma system is indeed an unwanted system in any game. On the other hand, in STALKER2: “Pomer” or whatever his name was. On the Poppy side mission. That dude was a bad guy from my discovery. I was there for a specific mission reason. Then he offered me a counter deal. To accept his deal would be objectively bad, morally speaking. But the choice I made was to put Pomer down, and complete the “good” outcome with the original quest giver. In the end…I got both quest rewards and made “The Zone” a bit safer. That’s my role-play and views on that outcome. RPG games should remove karmic and paragon/villain systems. All the non-essential main-story givers should be left to my discretion and my own morality system. Not the devs’. Other than that, Metro Exodus was easily a 9 or 9.5, for me personally… as someone who didn’t play the previous games. Haven’t played the first STALKER either. As far the sequel goes - bugs and performance issues aside… it’s looking like it will be in top favorite games of all time. So far 25 hours in, it’s checking all the marks I need.
@@PraiseChristAlmighty Wouldn't say Karma is unwanted in any Game. The entire Metro Series has a rather well made, and in my Opinion easy to understand Karma System that works very well. Exodus on the other Hand can make you lose Karma for failing a Stealth Section.... So if we take the first Chapter where you meet the Church Members? Yeah, if you fail the single Stealth Mission to get out on the Boat "Like a ninja" as your Gf says it. You will get the bad ending for that chapter and you friend will die on the escape section. Even if you did every single side mission in there, killed none of the church member and so on. It's really weird. And you cant evne restart half way in from your save, you either have a Savefile at the literal START of the entire chapter/level or from the last main misison you did the game gives you automatically. And yes, fuck Pommel, i killed that guy as well for the double reward lmao. Good Hunting Stalker!
@@HandsomeGamerGuy Ah, my misunderstanding. I see what you mean about that specific mission in Metro, I specifically didn’t like that bit precisely because I was going for the best morally-sound outcome as possible. And non-lethal stealthing in Ranger Hardcore was particularly annoying in that section of the game. Ok, I now understand what you meant. Yea that’s dumb. Agreed wholly. To clarify my stance, as I avoided being overly “yappy” previously. I meant that I didn’t like the game having some sort karmic-meter similar to the old BioWare games, that was blue for Paragon and Red for “Renegade”… or also when the game demands specific conditions or requirements in gameplay to be met - like forcing stealth. Baldur’s Gate 3 and now STALKER 2 both have a really good system that I like, because it simulates gray morality really well. There isn’t a meter saying “Paragon/Renegade, Good/Bad or some arbitrary gameplay requirement. It’s very simple: Do good things because you are good. Or do bad things, also because you are good… according to the player’s RP moral compass… and whomever witnesses such actions, should react accordingly. As an example in BG3, heinous acts will have companions leave or even fight you, other companions like it, depending the personality. And if no one saw anything, then it should be left up to my character’s conscious, and/or triggering a global effect like potentially missing out on a quest(s) or gear because the “victim” can longer provide vital information leading up to or directly towards quest/loot. These games got it right imho, and that’s why I’m loving STALKER 2 thus far. Cheers 🫡
@PraiseChristAlmighty I wholeheartedly agree. The Side quests and Main Mission choices you can make and decide for are very well done. They don't feel like they force you to be good or bad. Just giving you Options related to your current Situation without being bad. Side with the Ward or try asking Richter for help in the Village of the Old Man? Help a Guy out in a Shock Anomaly or kill him? Game tries to teach you that the Zone is Ruthless, but still tosses you Situations where helping or killing are both justified. No one is truly deserving of your help, but is your choice to help. I love it. Can't wait for the fixes to make it work better. Good Hunting, Stalker.
I like doing this. Ukrainian in stalker, Russian in metro 2033, Italian in assassin's creed, Korean in Crysis (which, funny enough, happened automatically if you raised the difficulty) and whatever language they had in the various far cry games. Some games have some good voice acting and it's worth switching. However I will say that even if it's in English I need subtitles or half of everything sounds like it's underwater, muffled. So I don't mind reading the subtitles since they'll be on anyways
Yes and no. It does make the setting of Ukraine/Chernobyl feel more authentic, but having to stare at subtitles and missing what's actually happening (facial expressions, body language, environment, things in background) is a bummer. It's a wash. At least for me.
It isn't A-Life. It's not compatable with UE5. They're trying to replicate it in UE but it isn't going to work. It will just be generic spawn points and timers but at least they can fix it so spawns don't happen right in your FOV lol.
In this case veteran implies that you are familiar with at least one of this franchise's defining mechanics. He payed no attention to the introduction of the bloodsucker somehow. No idea he is getting cooked by radiation. Even if you arent familiar with anomalies, not being able to grasp "throw bolt > trigger cooldown > RUN" was painful. He didnt even glance at keybindings or read ANYTHING! "L" for light! You're literally staring at it! How long did it take for him to realize mario could run in the first damn mario bros game? Asmongolds 5 golden rules to ruin a game for yourself:
Choose hardest difficulty because ego.
Skip all tutorials because ofc you know better.
Never pay attention to sounds or UI indicators. Reading is for nerds!
Don't pay attention to what the quest/mission is about. Who cares!
Don't be careful. It'll be fine. The guys with guns are probably friendly.
To be fair, STALKER was made to be played on the highest difficulty. It’s similar to Metro’s Ranger mode and Witcher 3 on death march.
This is only a problem in stalker 2
Also froze on place and do nothing with 5% HP :D
@@bronzin1445 Not really. STALKER wasn't designed to be played on the hardest difficulty where every enemy just becomes a stupid bullet sponge. If I wanted to play Fallout 3/4/76, I'd do that.

@@Nickyreaper2008
Veteran difficulty reduces player damage down to 0.85x which is utter bs while Bloodsuckers and other mutants already have insanely high HP pools for absolutely no reason.
The bloodsucker is an agile stealth killer, not a tanky thick mutant...
Also there is A-life in the game present, upcoming patch notes are about fixing it so its definitely there and I've seen bandits and stalkers fight across the zone.
Its a gamepass game. It was never gonna release working right. Gamepass is literally an early access program if a game releases straight onto it.

@@sheevikhanik There is nothing to lol about. It came out and that is impressive. I was close on moving to Kyiv, a couple of weeks before the new war began. -- I think I took the wrong approach.. even with this answer here.
Maybe not. Is it a wall of text? Yes. Does it make Stalker 2 better? No. But I hope that at least one person may get a better understanding how the world ticks.

No health bars running around during combat, no sidekick telling you everything you have to do all the time, no cursor leading you through to the next thing always. It seems obvious that you purposefully put the game on the hardest difficulty so you can tell people you stopped playing because it's too hard when you didn't want to play it in the first place. It took them 15+ years to make this game and it really is a good game. If you don't want to play it just say so instead of tip toeing around it.
HE does this shit ALL THE TIME, it really bizarre behavior tbh. Buys a game it seems like he knows he won't like simply because other people are playing it, puts it on hardest difficulty to try and compensate for his inferiority complex about not being good at games (or being very smart in general). Get's frustrated after about an hour of barely engaging with the game, claims he doesn't like the mechanics (or that the game is bad) and quits. Very predictable pattern.
I was unsure if I would like the game or not since I never played the first one. I am about 20 hours in and loving it!

The death counter hints that the game is tough. In this game, when you are told that the difficulty level is Veteran, it means that you at least need to know what is in your backpack, whether it is usable and how long it will last you, what dangers await you and how to deal with them. The zone is an uninhabitable radioactive wasteland with a strictly guarded perimeter and no laws.

Losing Karma for failing Stealth (Even if you don't kill them)
NPCS Wallhacking and seeing you through Walls, making you fail Stealth again and again.
I've heard switching to the Ukrainian voice acting makes it so much more immersive.
First thing I did with the settings
It does, also because the english vo is really crappy at times.
