Super job...I remember those old Coast to Coast stores as they provided many products at reasonable prices. The Western Auto Stores were also located in many small towns during the 50's and 60's throughout the Midwest. When growing up on a small farm in Northern Indiana, these stores provided almost all products needed to maintain yards, barns, vehicles and houses. Love watching your videos as your learning experiences resemble much of what I have experienced throughout my life (75 years) . Keep on keepin on !! Rick H in Central Florida

Thanks Rick. It’s cool hearing the history, I’d never heard of this store until I got the tiller. Super interesting. Thanks for watching!

I used to love to go to the Coast to Coast Hardware Store with my uncle, when I was a kid. It was the first "modern style " hardware store, in it's day that also carried hunting and fishing gear, along with the standard hardware items. The one thing I dislike about the tiller, and you guys will also, is the front tines, because they will work you to death. A rear tines tiller is a lot easier to use. Good job on the repair.

Well done. A tiller just makes the garden prep so much easier.
I've bought so many tools that I've only used once but sometimes you just have to. Getting that socket was smart.

Good one... I enjoyed seeing you bring it back to life. This reminds me of all the things people throw out that could be fixed if they had the know-how.

Thanks jack! I’ve found riding mowers at the dump, literally hooked the battery and it fired right up. It’s crazy the things that are treated as consumables.

Great job getting the tiller running. Nothing beats growing your own food. I cheat by using a 4’ tiller. Helps when you get older lol. Great job!!

Just picked on of these up, a Plowhorse 555 with a little B&S engine. Same initial situation on the no start. Haven't looked too far into it at the moment, but I'm assuming rust on the flywheel/magnet along with old points and likely a gummed-up carb.

Checked Facebook Marketplace yesterday, rototillers as old or older then yours and they want at least $300.00 Canadian dollars ( $ 240.00 USA dollars ) around here ( Ottawa, Ontario ).

That’s about where a running tiller bottoms out, pretty crazy. We’re about $60 into this one so not bad.

I know you posted this several years ago.
The times quit turning on mine. Checked belts. Is there a shear pin that I can't locate?
Went up and back in garden then it stopped turning that next swipe?
    Any suggestions?

Just Amazon. You need to look up the motor. Use the serial number. All Briggs parts are pretty common.
