@@TheNeonParadox I agree Kristine would make for an interesting Medea / Elactra. By the way, if you watch our digital version of Trojan Women check out the actress who played Cassandra; a very talented women from Athens who was supposed to play Cassandra in the play you watched, but due to Covid she could not leave Greece at the time.
@@nicolaswalker3937 I will definitely check that out. This is one of my favorite of the Classical plays. Thank you for the suggestion, and I hope said actress made it out of the lockdowns okay. I know Greece went a little crazy with them. I haven't been there with my archeology team since 2019. 😔
G'day to You! I have always wanted to see a Greek Play ,I was not concerned Who's, thank you for this, now at 73 I can finally tick this one off my List!
An excellent production - Thanks. The sound was excellent and the subtitles were very good. They followed the speech perfectly - no delays. A slight proof reading would have cleaned up the few errors. Overall .... bravo!
Hello Tansy, we used Edith Hamilton's as a starting point but wove in several passages from other translations, and also included some of our own wording.
Not 100% keen on the translation chosen, or perhaps they are changes to make it more accessible for audiences but there are some fairly dramatic changes that do change the feel compared to most translations. However, some amazing performance!
This is the best play I've seen for The Trojan Women online.
We're happy you enjoyed it!
This was not performed in front of an audience? I would imagine it would get a standing ovation! I am in tears!
The actress playing Cassandra was amazing! That monolog was absolutely moving. I would love to see her in a full presentation of Medea or Electra.
Thank you! We're happy you enjoyed her performance. We hope she will get a role in these plays in the future.
Perhaps you hadn't noticed but she also played Andromache.
@@nicolaswalker3937 I thought that was her, but I wasn't sure. Hector had a wonderful wife then.

Thank you for this. There are so many bad performances of Greek Tragedy. It is refreshing and inspiring to see a good one.
Congratulations and appreciation for this outstanding performance.
🙏
The chorus was absolutely amazing. I'm hoping to show this to my Greek class!
Thanks for the kind words; it is much appreciated!
Excellent production, though a difficult story to watch.

Thanks Gene, your comments are appreciated!
Thank you!

Thank you for sharing this!
You're welcome!
Fantastic rendition.
Thanks!
Imagine if Poseidon sounded like Davy jones from Dead Man’s Chest.
👌
The irony of the Greeks using a wooden horse, is that it is a symbol of Posidon The patron god of Troy..I must object to Posidon wearing pants.
The actor so cool.
Which one? :-)
@@TheatreClassics Cassandra but I like andromache too. I think one actor played both them.
@@samaneshirali4667 You are right.
Lovely!!
Thank you!
Hi- what translation did you use for this production
Hello Tansy, we used Edith Hamilton's as a starting point but wove in several passages from other translations, and also included some of our own wording.
Anyone see the cat at 54? Lol
I directed this play and it's the first time I saw it! But I think I know whose cat it was.
Why didn't you get Cullin to be Helen? I don't get it.
Who is Cullin?
Does anyone know the translation the play is based on ?

@@nicolaswalker3937 Awesome, this play helped me visualize Euripides’ written play and write an end-of-term paper, thank you!

Seems like a high school production.
