Brilliant, thank you! As a guy with sausage fingers I’ve been dreading using my new machine but you’ve made it look so easy…can’t wait to have a go now!!
i've had this machine for over a year and though I knew it had an easier way to put the thread inn the needle I just didn't get how... thank you for the explanation
Fantastic video thank you very much. First new sewing machine in nearly 40 years. Sat looking at it for ages before I looked for a how to video and found yours 😊x
Thank you that was very helpful! I have another question that you may be able to answer: I've tried threading the machine with the Scanfil cotton thread I like to use, that worked really well with my old Toyota. But it doesn't seem to work right on the new machine, the stitch is very loose on the bottom and pulls up to the top. I've reduced the tension but that didn't help so I suspect a winding issue? How do you know if the bobbin is wound correctly? Is it normal that the thread flows of the upper spool, and that the spool doesn't turn? The machine works really well with Guterman polyster thread. Thanks a lot!
It’s a great machine / but there’s nothing better than test driving a machine before you buy / it will all depend on your experience and what you will be sewing 😊
@@sewcreative I appreciate the question Magalie asked and your helpful reply. I hadn't realised there was also an automatic reverse. It's very useful to learn new tips grim someone else's questions. Thank you.
Very helpful video. Would this machine be suitable for small business use please? Would it be able to sew 2 layers of fleece together (for blankets)? Many thanks x
Hi Su, the machine would cope with 2 layers of fleece - it is important however to know when to change the stitch length etc. Also good to note that the Brother Warranty is only 1 year for a business
Thank you for this video. Your explanations are so nice ! I bought this machine and there is something I don't understand. Maybe you'll be able to help me and explain me the subtetly. I don't understand the difference between the reverse buttons (the one front of the machine and the one on the right had side closed to the LCD screen). How are we suppose to use the one closed to the LCD screen ? I read the manual but it's not clear for me. I'm a real beginner and it's my first sewing machine, so if you could give me a reply, it would be GREAT ! Thanks a lot ;-) from France.
Hi Magalie, the one on the right hand side is an automatic reverse button, so when selected it will show up in the LCD screen and if on a straight stitch, for instance, it will sew forward a few stitches before reversing and the forward sewing again. Put your foot on the foot pedal and give it a try! The only thing it won't be able to do is know when you're at the end of your stitching, so you can press the reverse button once (do this without taking your foot off the foot pedal) and it will finish off with the same reverse and forward stitch too. Hope this has helped? Jo

A great starter video, thank you! The needle threader close up was invaluable although it’s definitely going to take a little practise.

A super beginner’s video. The close up of the needle threading was very useful and I can see this will need lots of practice. Thank you!
