What a joy it is to watch her! The big takeaway from this video is repeated exposure to people and the typical things they do when meeting your dog. After her shots, I took my GSD to anyplace that would have us - including a service area at a car dealership. All of the rattling tool carts, hydraulics, the reverberating echos of drills, and metal clanging while getting love from the mechanics. Getting used to hands reaching for the top of his head was a huge deal, too. He just doesn't care now, and that's a good thing!
Beautiful dog. You've done a fantastic job training her. Most people don't realize how much stimulation/exercise dogs need. It really is the difference between an amazing companion, and a monster. I"m on my 3rd dog. My first, lab/husky/border collie, has been off-leash since he was 7 months. He's 12 now, and the leash is still for show. My 3rd is 9 months. He's a mix of 4 herding dogs, and I'm confident he'll be off-leash soon. I usually give them 5-6 hours a day, of playing/training, the first 6 months. Not all at once, but small bits here and there. Go hard/big early in your time together. It really makes a difference. Stay patient, stay consistent, and you'll be amazed what you can do with a dog. Consistency is key, and the more tired they are the better they listen/respond to commands/training.
Recently got a rescue German Shepard mix about 3 years old...we are not sure if she if full Shepard but she acts just like your Lucy!! Loves to stand on rocks or any platform, loves spinning around & super strong prey drive but she doesn’t understand how fetch with a ball 😅 I would love to teach her these jobs as well 😍
We also like going to the beach, this is really a good opportunity to run and swim and do whatever you imagine 😀 Lucy, you are such an adorable model! 👏👏👏
Could you do a video on on all the commands you’ve trained Lucy? And how old she was when you Included it into her training and maybe how you did it and how long it took Lucy to understand the command? Love the vids! ❤️
Love your videos keep them coming. My German Shepard is also name Lucy and she is a little over 2yrs. I was wondering how did you train her to run with you at the hip?
Hey buddy !Nice content!Hope you are all doing great! I got a question for you !How did you manage Lucy's training as a guard dog while she's being still this friendly? Most dog trainers tell me that i shouldn't let anyone touch my boy (apart from my close People) and i dont want him loosing his laid back and friendly style ... Sometimes tho he is being super alert without being taught anything and i am not sure if I should enhance this trait..Whats your opinion? Thanks in advance !
If you want a well-rounded dog, socialization is important from the time you bring your puppy home. introduce your puppy to everyone and all ages, so he grows into a friendly adult dog. German shepherds all have a guarding instinct and are very protective of their human family who to your dog, sees all family members as part of their pack and their home as a zone to protect from unknown strangers. Strangers should always ask if your dog is friendly and can they pat your dog when you are out in public. Like humans, there are some people who your dog will not like, dogs have an incredible ability to read Human body language. German shepherds are super intelligent, my beautiful girl Rosie shakes paws by me just pointing at the one I want to shake. I walk her 3 times a day and we have a lot of playtimes too, playing tug with her tug rope, throwing her ball, and playing fetch and she is happy to curl up on the couch with me while I watch TV. Rosie is a rescue and unfortunately was abused by her previous owner and has had no doggie socialization for the first two years of her life and is not dog friendly because of this, she is better on our walks and just watches people as they walk past instead of lunching and barking at them which she would do when I first got her. Patience, training, lots of positive praise when your dog does things right all increase the bond between you and your dog. Your dog really does want to please you and make you happy. All dogs should have unconditional love from their owners and giving your dog some of your personal time is the key to a happy and well-balanced dog. Owning a dog is a lifetime commitment. What never fails to warm my heart is when I decide to go to bed and watch a bit of TV and Rosie is sleeping peacefully next to me on the bed, snoring lightly, so relaxed without a care in the world and knowing she is loved while she is awake or in a deep sleep, she is such a beautiful looking German Shepherd very similar in her coat colors to Lucy Lane, the Queen of Balmain.
I just love you guys, quick question, how old was lucy when she started running with you? My husband got me a german shepard and she is 14 weeks old. How soon can I train her and any tips on getting her started as she is going through the biting of the lead phase when ever I try to walk her. Thanks a love ya Lucy!
I have a 2yr old big male GSD. Is it to late to train him to obey in public? My boy gets excited when he sees a new person, animal, etc... After a few moments he calms down. But I would love to be able to take him to an outdoor cafe.
I just got a German Shepherd puppy and I want your opinion I need a dog like Lucy like yours I'm a 15 year old and I didn't know it was this much of a job I'm pretty stock I don't know what to do an infinite mind that will help me out any videos or something just for training or whatever something that will help me out a lot because my dog is 11 weeks German Shepherd puppy and she just don't want to listen to me I haven't eaten teach her how to sit or nothing I don't know what to do being honest don't know what to do if you can help me out just a little bit though help me out like teaching how to say it has basic training or overall something that would help me I would deeply appreciate you love your videos
Take a treat hover it over an object then they will naturally jump on it, then say “photo” and reward them. Then once they know what “photo” means reward them five seconds late. Then gradually increase the time it takes.
There is what I call the Hollywood perception of some dog breeds. Due to them being shown as the vicious guard dog people assume that's how they always are. It's the owner not the dog breed that dictates a dogs behavior!

Hey youtube Robert cabral
oh man! I hope I am doing enough trying to train my GSD. This is a lot! Do you need to do this much stuff?
How did you teach her to pose? Did a professional trainer help or did you DIY?

@@BLADE-yf5mc thank you very much!
@@BLADE-yf5mc What good advice! We need to try this out as well 😊
As anyone else in the Lamborghini in the background
