Literary sidelight: "Hanabie" is a Spring season-word in haiku poetry. In Japanese, the period punctuation mark (small circle) is officially part of the band name---花冷え。Further sidelight: They had a double-bill concert with Nemophila few weeks ago, and Nemo almost named themselves "Sorai", which is an Autumn season-word in haiku. (It is the title of one of their songs.)
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody "Hanabie" refers in haiku to a cold breeze reminiscent of Winter that blows out of the north at the time the cherry blossoms (sakura) bloom in early to mid Spring. One of the original founding four band members was born in the Spring, the other three in the Winter, so the name also matched their birthdays. It's a elegant word.

I think I kept playing that opening 30 seconds about 10 times in a row - well maybe 20 times 1st time I heard it. Will see them live in august 😃. I'd be curious to see your reaction to Band-Maid - RINNE. They are not a metal band (they consider themselves a "hard rocking band") but "Rinne" is one of the closest thing to pure metal they've done.

Hanabie is great and they are coming to the US soon to open several shows for Galactic Empire the Star Wars metal band with members of the Kami band from Babymetal. I plan on seeing them in Texas when they come through. If you are interested in checking out a band I was with in Dallas, Tx called Big Iron that recorded two awesome albums that I wish more people would discover because it’s incredible metal music with a Pantera feel and heaviness. Please try one or two songs and see what you think. My recommendations for Big Iron are Reality Check, Confidence Man, American Pleasure Drive, Slow Southern Crawl, Body of a God, and Mouthhole. Sokoninaru - Saitei / Three-Piece super-technical progrock band, insane three-part harmonies and though wild and chaotic still melodic. Maximum The Hormone - Zetsubou Billy / Punky, crazy, heavy, funny, really hard to describe band :) DenKare - Detonator / Straight-Up metal with a rather unusual vocalist, featuing Shiren of Unlucky Morpheus in this lineup. Yousei Teikoku - Zetsu (絶)/ Actually donesn't come with a video, but seriously awesome, made me discover there's a whole osu! scene out there.
