- How to get the best Necklace/Amulet for Clerics in Baldur's Gate 3. The Amulet of the Devout +2 gives a +2 increase to Spell Save DC and also gives Cleric's an additional charge of Channel Divinity.
It can be obtained during Act 3, in the basement of the Stormshore Tabernacle, which is located within the Baldur's Gate Lower City.

If you use the spell remove curse it gets rid of the curse and summons a Deva to fight. if you kill the deva and take a long rest, its corpse will have disappeared and a pouch will be in its place. in the pouch is a mace that also does 4d8 radiant damage, Deva Mace.
4d8? are you sure? and it's not something that goes away after a long rest like with the one sword in act 2? 4d8 would be absolutely insane. edit: just tested it, it really is. not sure about it going away yet but it doesnt look like it. absolutely insane. better than any legendary.

@pawep2966 it doesn't disappear. The effect does. It does like 5d6 psychic dmg when you pick it up and until long rest. If you convince the spider with the lantern to go away and then find and kill his shadow form, he drops the sword.
Pro tip: don't need to long rest. Pick up the Deva with any character. Empty your character's weapon slot. Then click on the empty slot to take Deva's weapon. This can also be used to steal other items off characters, most notably underwear from story companions (Minthara).

In addition to items, your own offerings appear in the cellar coffers as well. Jaheira equipped with Khalids Gift therefore makes daily buffs from the Tabernacle free! Also: it seems all blessings grant +2 saves, but different tidbits of lore.

I damaged the middle chest and then I believe the Mystra chest. Stole the items, no curse. Then opened the chest next to Mystra's to see if I'd get the curse, and I did. I removed the curse, fought the Deva, and did as previously suggested to get the mace. So far, so good.
To elaborate on the remove curse stuff, you want multiple people to loot the chest, so you get a better chance of getting a Deva. I only ever got cambions to fight after casting remove curse.
That would be a great necklace for my storm sorcerer/tempest cleric.
As soon as I saw that second attribute, my brain started spinning lol

idk if this was a bug but i casted cure wounds on the target with the curse and it dispelled it

This necklace is god tier on tempest cleric 6 storm sorc 6 and wet status.
If I just hit send to camp then I don't get the debuf.
throw the necklace from the chest onto the floor, then pick it up. There will be no curse
i'm playing a four player campaign where we can't easily swap out a hirling, could we remove the curse with the Remove Curse spell or any similar features?
it's worth a try! I haven't tested it myself but seems like it should work.
Or have one player sit out the session while yall get the item. Then bring them back in afterwards?
I just got this, Remove Curse works seems to have worked, but it did summon a Deva to fight

Jaheira wearing Khalids gift is immune to curses, including castigated by Divinity. I prefer snatching the amulet this way.
how can you reach there from the lower city?
I think I show where to go from the basilisk gate fast travel point. That is in the lower city. Hope this helps!
Best cleric necklace? more like best paladin necklace.. paladins only get one channel divinity, clerics get 2 by base.
Can you conform that it actually provides an extra charge for paladin channel oath? Channel divinity is what clerics use and what the item says. I hope you're right but I'm uncertain.
it honestly REALLY pisses me off that an item like this is set up in the game to where you have to steal it to get it.... its the Amulet of the DEVOUT! an item that is going to be wanted by character that, as a whole, are lawful good, or at least SOMEWHAT good or honorable. its complete BULLSHIT to force them to sneak and steal in of all places... a fucking CHURCH to get one of the most iconic beloved items in dnd for clerics and paladins. there should be a GOOD way to earn this item.
No way. It's not a quest reward. In real life, a lot of the people with the best loot got it by being immoral people. Look at politicians and hollywood people.
you can just remove curse. just know when you do it will summon a deva with 136hp. so open all 5 then cast remove curse so you only have to fight 1 instead of 5. if you open the chest and send it to camp the amulet wont be considered stolen.
Or steal them individually, remove curse after stealing, fight all 5 and get 5 times the loot?
The curse stacks. I remove the curse from my main character and it summoned 4 Devas at the same time. I didn’t know this and did it in the middle of the city. And now people treat me like a criminal.

@@KamiPain75 Remove curse at the gallows. The deva will attack the executioner who can tank the hit and not die. They will help you fight the deva. I had Astarion stand trial for theft before removing curse. Then he shamelessly went back to steal more for me. As for the stacking - thats why i recommended stealing and removing the curse individually one chest at a time.
That or do it in camp because stealing the corpse will get you a bounty
