I have been a musician since I was young person predominantly playing bass for over 40 years. I have played Bethel songs no telling how many times but over the last couple years I found myself burned out and very frustrated playing with bands, which I ended up selling both of my bass guitars (Fender P and J bass), but after stumbling upon this video I find myself missing the days of playing and worshiping!!! Wow. Thank you guys so much. Last year I stepped down from leading worship and playing on the team to doing audio. Last week I spent a lot of time setting up a live stream for my church. I’ve always known that "worship first, work second" is exactly what God is after but I’d been hiding behind my mixer because I’ve been going through a rough time. Thank you guys SO much for making this documentary about what it’s all really about. That last section really convicted me.

It really is an art that you put the absolute best of yourself into for God's glory during the worship experience.

Wow! What a great film man, the fact that you took the time to focus on and make known the most important fact; their hearts posture of worship first, Jesus being the answer and bringing Heaven to Earth. I think this is something so many of us need to see. The reason for their great success as a church both at home and globally, moving mountains for the kingdom (which is what we all want) is simply because of their hearts being set on Christ. In everything its about worshiping first which leads to a powerful and real encounter with Jesus. Which in turn is what the world sees when they bring modern day tech and combine it with a heart postured properly, and that is what changes lives. Such a perfect example of the church that Paul taught about but in todays modern world. I pray we all remember always what it’s all about. That we keep what’s first, first.

Coming from a church camp videographer, I used all of those techniques in my filming for camp. Not once did I watch any Bethel videos before the year 2013 which was the first year I was a camp videographer. It is ridiculously a blessing to know that the Lord gives us talents to use for His kingdom and bring glory to Him. The countless times I have stopped, put my camera down and prayed for someone in the middle of worship, hug or talk with a student that has the tale tell signs of their encounter with the Lord and needed answers or the discovering salvation. Such a humbling blessing to see what I did in 2013 still happening in 2019. Close up and personal for those who watch the recaps to feel as if they were on stage with the band leading them to the throne room of the Lord.
Well done guys! Very helpful behind the scenes! I think it is theologically significant that a connection the the Lord’s Prayer runs through their philosophy. A heaven on earth theology changes the way we engage ministry.
You did a beautiful job of telling the story about their heart for worship, without it getting lost in tech. I loved the tech side too, but seeing their passion for service and worship was amazing. This is the best work I’ve seen from you and I like everything you do already. Keep it up!!
As a sound man in a small church, I have always taught that running sound is a form of worship and we are part of the worship team, our instrument is the soundboard and it's not about us but how we convey worship in what we do. I love to hear that worship is #1 with the Bethel team as well, I had always known it was.

Bethel is great i heard them my whole life online and this year I saw it finally live at redding. I think the craziest part was that it is better online than in real life and I think this comes down to their extraordinary tech usage!

Wow. Not only am I enlightened but so blessed. I have really wanted to see what is behind such great work and today I have found my answers. "Jesus is the Secret, Worship First, Work Second."
a lot of work went into making this video. Thanks for sharing! Definitely helps to see the heart behind the people doing the work. As you say it's easy to see something defined as successful by the world's standards (numbers of people watching, influence, perceived power, the term 'worship superstars' that definitely made my stomach churn) and automatically jump to conclusions about it, but to see the hearts of the people behind the scenes, it reminds me of Colossians 3:23 - Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. I don't think they care what I think, or what others think, and I don't think they should. They should be focused on doing what God has called them to do with the gifts that God has given them. Sure they should be loving God with all of their hearts and loving people, but showing love to people doesn't always come in the form of doing things that everyone approves of. God's plan is super simple (bring people to himself, build His kingdom here) but they way that plan comes to fruition is not simple. Each person, each pastor, each ministry plays a role. Some are more publicly seen, some are not. Some of us are fingers, some of us are toes...Bethl's ministry is a small part of what God's doing here on earth. Do they fall and mess up at times? Yea, they're human, just like me, just like you. But it seems to me that they're taking risks to try and reach people with the good news of Christ. When Jesus was telling the parable of the talents, it wasn't the man with 10 or 5 talents who the master was angry with, not because of how much or how little they had, but because they took risks and did something with what he gave them. So instead of me looking at Bethel and saying, 'hey you wasted 1 of your talents here, or you messed up one of your investments there', this inspires me to look at my only talent and see what I'm doing to risk it all to earn more for the Kingdom of God.

It is ridiculously a blessing to know that the Lord gives us talents to use for His kingdom and bring glory to Him. The countless times I have stopped, put my camera down and prayed for someone in the middle of worship, hug or talk with a student that has the tale tell signs of their encounter with the Lord and needed answers or the discovering salvation. Such a humbling blessing to see what I did in 2013 still happening in 2019. Close up and personal for those who watch the recaps to feel as if they were on stage with the band leading them to the throne room of the Lord.
I appreciate all the staff and volunteers who are giving their best in all areas. This has given me a view of best to do for Him.
Well done guys! Very helpful behind the scenes! I think it is theologically significant that a connection the the Lord’s Prayer runs through their philosophy. A heaven on earth theology changes the way we engage ministry.
The Lord's prayer doesn't run throughttheir philosophy as they never talk about the effects of Sin and they think you are god

As a sound man in a small church, I have always taught that running sound is a form of worship and we are part of the worship team, our instrument is the soundboard and it's not about us but how we convey worship in what we do. I love to hear that worship is #1 with the Bethel team as well, I had always known it was.
I come back and watch this video all the time for reference, but also for the beautiful reminder that Jesus is the secret. Thanks so much for making this video!

Bethel is great i heard them my whole life online and this year I saw it finally live at redding. I think the craziest part was that it is better online than in real life and I think this comes down to their extraordinary tech usage!

I have really wanted to see what is behind such great work and today I have found my answers. "Jesus is the Secret, Worship First, Work Second."
a lot of work went into making this video. Thanks for sharing! Definitely helps to see the heart behind the people doing the work. As you say it's easy to see something defined as successful by the world's standards (numbers of people watching, influence, perceived power, the term 'worship superstars' that definitely made my stomach churn) and automatically jump to conclusions about it, but to see the hearts of the people behind the scenes, it reminds me of Colossians 3:23 - Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.
I don't think they care what I think, or what others think, and I don't think they should. They should be focused on doing what God has called them to do with the gifts that God has given them. Sure they should be loving God with all of their hearts and loving people, but showing love to people doesn't always come in the form of doing things that everyone approves of. God's plan is super simple (bring people to himself, build His kingdom here) but they way that plan comes to fruition is not simple. Each person, each pastor, each ministry plays a role. Some are more publicly seen, some are not. Some of us are fingers, some of us are toes...Bethl's ministry is a small part of what God's doing here on earth. Do they fall and mess up at times? Yea, they're human, just like me, just like you. But it seems to me that they're taking risks to try and reach people with the good news of Christ. When Jesus was telling the parable of the talents, it wasn't the man with 10 or 5 talents who the master was angry with, not because of how much or how little they had, but because they took risks and did something with what he gave them. So instead of me looking at Bethel and saying, 'hey you wasted 1 of your talents here, or you messed up one of your investments there', this inspires me to look at my only talent and see what I'm doing to risk it all to earn more for the Kingdom of God.

Thank you to the guys on the tech team for their inspired words. I struggle on my own to broadcast and live stream our small church outdoor live worship. I run the sound, the video, do the setup and tear down. It is hard but everything I do is so more people can know God. I had never considered that this might be my worship and I am so touched because God just told me, through this, that it is. #MovedToTears
