Floppywere As Pally pointed out in this video, one of the better ways to win the game on Warhead Junction is to push with either one of the bosses, which are located on the top and bottom lane, so nuking top or bot makes the boss push easily. Maybe you can nuke middle if you know you’re losing the nuke anyways
Rafzalo would a viable strategy be nuking mid and another Lane or just mid and the getting boss letting that push and get a fort or keep while you distract them in mid? (Either way they'd likely lose something. but Qm so yeah)
On Haunted Mines, both teams had golems around 50 skulls, headed for the cores, so we had to race to the finish. The lane with our golem was pushed up really far so we had a slight advantage. I charged in and started attacking the core, but died when the enemy core was around 40%. We totally had the win EXCEPT my teammates decided to attack the people nest to the core instead of the core itself... Don't be stupid. If you're going for the core, attack it. Just a quick PSA.
Here's the thing Pally, when it's working, Twin Blades Varian is the the absolute most fun you can have in the game. Period. When you are in deep 5v1 and they can't kill you because you are healing too fast for them, it's the most enjoyable experience in the game. Twin Blades Varian are just chasing that high, and honestly QM is the place you can do it without getting flamed, so you gotta go easier on him. EDIT: Just want to point out its not that TBV is good just that its mega fun under the right conditions. If you want to win reliably probably don't pick TB.

Pally has his clear bias and just outright wrong opinions (like when he was nuking just the towers when the tower changes went live and claimed it was the best new strat). Twinblades varian has more survivability than taunt varian, more potential to secure kills than CS varian because he can do it outside of his cooldowns, and has better chase due to the movement speed on hitting heroes. He was also criticizing the Nova for taking a camp after a team wipe as if it wasn't the best course of action considering the team fight that happened just before. It pushed a lane with no defenses and was their only lane with catapults, as the enemy team was putting all their focus on the boss/top spawning nuke.

Atleast you got kinda balanced team. Whenever I try anything 3-5 enemy players are my direct counters. I pick Rag - they get Aba, Lunara, Fenix, Li-Ming and Tychus. I pick Chen - they get Diablo *and* Blaze (we dont have Varian and any other tank in team) I pick AA assassin - we get full team of those and enemy gets *2 dedicated specialists like Zeebo and Zig*
I agree, colossus smash is pretty sweet. I once had this situation, when hanzo was doing a jump over a wall but I launched the smash, it made me follow hanzo all the way through his jump. Good times.
It might be that i missed it or that pally might just not know about the stukov combo. A very effective way to secure kills with stukov is to throw your W on a target and place your expanding E under them and then detonate your W. This means that they are going to be silenced for about 2.5 sec as they crawl out of your E slowed. Ideally you can throw out your Q before you do the combo to get some healing out at the same time. His lvl 13 talent Virulent reaction enhances this combo by rooting the target in your E for a duration.
Pally a general rule for using stukov’s silence is that you put it where the enemy wants to go, not were they are (unless they’re sufficiently CC’d that they can’t leave quickly.

At 9:12 I actually burst out laughing. That is the most QM thing I've ever seen. Twin varian dropping a nuke mid and killing naz holding a nuke then dying and letting his support be killed. Beautiful. It's like watching a car crash.

I think the increased map control that comes from taking the middle fort might make nuking it worthwhile. Doing so will make it easier to take the bottom or top keeps down the line.
Okay so old vid but I guess I never watched this match. Personal opinion 1 of the best matches I've had the pleasure of watching you play, it was comedy gold from start to novas camp finishing the core.
Fun thing is versus AI Stukov is broken. Use your Lurking Arm and AI will run into it trying to get to you and will run back out away and repeat. Usually until they die. Fun for farming xp and just sticking in a lane half afk.
I play twin blades until lv.25 on Varian but after the latest patch of Varian I start playing colossus smash. The thing I want to say is that twin blades is extremely fun if the enemy team has no or less than 2 CCs, the feeling that no one can solo you is damn fun XD
Also when they have no one that can kite you. I'd say he got buffed with the last iteration where the low cd charge thing at 10 is better because previously almost anyone could just kite you around.
By the time Pally made the adjustment to attack the core so did everyone else. My only gripe is sometimes Pally can be quite condescending even when he makes very elementary mistakes himself. With the varian in this video as well he may have misused the cool down on his shield wall but you can't just sit on that cool down the whole team fight for one ability. The enemy team will just hold that ability the whole teamfight and then you have a varian that doesn't use shield wall. Both mistakes that can happen but pally acts like he is immune to these mistakes or at least that he should correct people on it (which becomes very hypocritical).
Love your videos, Pally. Sometimes I wish you could chill out more when playing so you could have a better time, but stressed vids are also great to watch. One thing though- I wish you could crach your knuckles away from the mic :D it's really creepy

Pally, idea for a video series. Go through each map and maybe do some lore or changes over time, but primarily give advice on how the objective should be handled and used. Might spread some more knowledge so less will nuke middle ;P
I prefer colosus smash as well, but in qm twin blades can be tempting, you don't have to rely on healers too much, and it's qm so nobody is ccing you when they need to. In those situations its just good, outsustainig everything ftw.
To be fair it used to exist, you had a rating for quick match and would be matched with players within a similar rating threshold. Pretty sure they got rid of it somewhat or maybe even entirely over time trying to make queue times not 45 minutes for some people. It may still be there but I'm guessing it's not as big an impact in matchmaking.
Twin Blades Varian is good if multiple enimes have answers to Colossus(ice block etc) and it's a map where boss plays matter. So yeah not most of the time.

I would say you don't have to pop your d Everytime you want to heal someone, you might end up wasting it for potential. D heal if you want to burst heal, and D slow if you want to burst damage your slowed targets. It also removed the slow so use wisely. Also, if you are healing and slowing, popping D does both!
Pally said this was high mmr quick match. If quick match works like that at all, which would be wasted design, I doubt Pally is playing in a high mmr setting. Your allies aren't playing like it and unless you're padding out your wins with Kerrigan, the you're right where you need to be.

While that is true, it's not always possible to get the ideal nuke placement. Once the wall's down though, there's no excuse unless the enemy team is pushing you back.
Triple tap + merc camps = win. I don't even know why blizzard allows other players to team with nova, other than they pretty much just slow down her ability to win and give the other team a chance to play for longer than 5 min.

Virulent Reaction at 13 is the talent that makes Stukov OP. Basically anyone you can combo in a teamfight is dead.
