Awesome video!!! Bought the same exact pull-up bar and was scared to install. I weigh only 180 so I think I’ll be fine lol didn’t want my garage to cave in
Thanks for video. I want to do this with a wall strip and hang a dip bar attachment to it. I'm considering mounting the wall strip directly into the drywall and anchoring it to a single stud. I don't want to use a wood backplate if I don't have to. So I'd like your advice. Did you have any problems with the drywall between crushed under the force since you didn't use a backplate between the pullup bar and drywall? Thank you
Personally I did not. I actually thought I was going to run into that issue but the drywall held up. I’ve since removed the bar and you can’t even tell where it was mounted except for where I patched the screw holes.
@Horton Barbell thanks for that information. I'm truly torn on this. I might just remove that little segment of drywall entirely and mount directly to the stuf. But I might also just take thr chance like you did. I appreciate your input
Personally, I didnt use one and didnt have any issues (although it was a big concern). Maybe I just got lucky, who knows. Sounds like a great idea though - I hadnt thought of doing that honestly.
Hi, great video. Bought the same bar. Can you help me with my question below? In my desired area there is studs only 32 inch apart. So I was wondering if this bar can be installed into a drywall instead. They included some heavy duty drywall anchors, so I am wondering if drywall is still an option?
First, I am not a contractor. I’m a strength coach. Having said that, personally, there is absolutely zero chance I would feel confident putting a pull-up bar into drywall.
You would want to use a stringer board.. which is just a horizontal board that screws into your 32" wall studs.. and then you screw the pull up bar into that.
Great question. I had some concern over that as well. Happy to report none so far. If you want to be really cautious I would suggest to put up a couple 2x10s and then drill the pullup bracket into those. I did something similar with my DIY squat rack and it worked great.
Thinking about purchasing one. Assuming I install it correctly, what do you think would be the max weight the wall could hold? Or would it just depend on the structure of the wall?
I have with mine already to do some ring pushups and had no issues. If its something you’re going to do often just consider you’re starting a bit lower and full extension may be an issue for pullups.
@uno9915 it is "once in awhile".. go back to school lol 😆 that's explains why you talk dame too much ... Brother you are a RUclipsr you don't know nothing about talking to people... All you ever do talking to camera and Mic... Very sad bro...get a real job brother.....

Great video! Just ordered my bar. What size drill bit, lag bolts, and washers did you use? Thanks.
Levels that cheap and short vary greatly
How bout them Dawgs!!
Do you think you can hang a heavy bag on this? Go Jackets!

Do you have a link to the socket adapter you bought? I can’t find one anywhere
Do you NEED a plywood backer to prevent the drywall from crushing?
Personally, I didnt use one and didnt have any issues (although it was a big concern). Maybe I just got lucky, who knows. Sounds like a great idea though - I hadnt thought of doing that honestly.

The "studs" in the wall...are those also the "beams"?
Yes. I think we’re saying the same thing.
Its been year since you posted this, I am curious how is your pull up bar doing?
Was doing great until I took it down. I bought a Titan T3 rack and no longer needed it.
@@hortonbarbell Thank You!!!
Have you noticed any movement from the drywall being compressed? Thanks for the video! Glad to see a large American like myself on a pull up bar!

How about for concrete installation? What screws do you recommend?
Hey Luis, to be honest thats a little outside of my wheelhouse. I wouldnt want to recommend something that didnt end up working well for you.
Just confirming - you used just the lag bolts and washers and NOT the drywall anchors correct? Since you screwed right into the studs?
That is what I did, yes.
is it necessary to install the wall plugs before installing it into studs in the garage?
Personally I did not. I know with concrete you want to use them but I drilled directly into the wall beams.
Do you know what size drill bit to buy? It didnt say in instruction
Hello K… its been awhile since this install and unfortunately I dont remember what size I used
Q...tell me what is the weight of this pull up bar ??????
I made it from the fabrication shop and its weight was 11 kg.
According to Titan’s website its 23lbs
question, assuming your studs were 16” on center, are your brackets 48” apart?
Yes they are
Thinking about purchasing one. Assuming I install it correctly, what do you think would be the max weight the wall could hold? Or would it just depend on the structure of the wall?
Cant speak on your wall. All I can tell is I’m 240 and I’ve had no issues with mine.
what size of lag bolt did you use? is this good for pull up bar?
Great question. The lag bolts come with the bar so I’d have to guess. My best guess is they are 3/8 - 2 1/2”. They’ve worked perfect for me so far.
@@hortonbarbell the guy at homedepot recommend ledgerlok instead of standard bolts. What are your thoughts?
If I wanted to hang gymnastics rings on this bar that would be fine right?
I have with mine already to do some ring pushups and had no issues. If its something you’re going to do often just consider you’re starting a bit lower and full extension may be an issue for pullups.
How do you secure the bar it’s self?
There is a bolt that goes in just above where the bar slides through the rack. Just tighten it down to secure the bar in place
I was doing exactly this and one of the bolts broke in half when adjusting that last 10%... Didnt know that could even happen
That sucks. I would tend to agree with Tony. Did you contact Titan about it? Would be curious their response.
Question : what size bolts did you use? I notice that it doesn't come with installation packet to hang on the wall.
Mine came with lag bolts for installation. Not sure on what size they were.
@@hortonbarbell Just got mine and will install it tomorrow. The size of the lag bolts included were 10mm x 75mm
Thanks Justin!
Which width bar did you get the 43" or the 50"?
My bar is about 52”
Stud finder joke. I have never not said it when using a stud finder
im not gonna lie but that pull up bar really sucks its very wobbly
I think it highly depends on how secure you get it into the wall
