  • After quite some time of having the stock exhaust which lacked any character, any chutzpah, if you will, I got an excellent full system from FIRETONG, which you can find for yourself at firetongco.com as they may have an option for your bike as well. Not sponsored, just pleased with mine is all.
    Watch along and determine how major of an improvement it was.
    Also you'll see cameos from my dogs.

    After a month of comparisons.... I LOOOOVE my Firetong. Easy install... does give a bit of popping backfires then down shifting and no throttle but Im fine with that.

    Got a Vulcan as my first bike at 42 yrs old, and I friggin love it man! I have been modding the shit out of it ...a.k.a ....draining my bank account, but its all good. I absolutely love riding.
    I upgraded to the Corbin seat, and it's way better than the stock, but a lot firmer than I thought it would be. A lot of people tell me to quit modding it because they say I will want something bigger after this riding season, but I'm not so sure that is true. What are your thoughts on that?

    • @jackisoutside
      @jackisoutside  3 месяца назад

      In my opinion it depends on your use-case. The Vulcan S is a great bike and the notion that smaller bikes are just stepping stones to bigger ones is a little old-fashioned nowadays when engines are becoming so much stronger for their size. That said, if you want to have a passenger often or do long highway rides, a big touring bike will help you and the passenger in comfort. The trade off is that you won’t have the fuel sipping 650cc, and it won’t have that fun nimble feel your Vulcan does.
      So if you’re enjoying your bike for all that it CAN do, and modding it to make it your own, that to me sounds like you should keep it, and when the time comes for a clean slate you’ll know.

      I have a 2022, 15k miles on it already. Just like you it was my first bike at 47. I’ve rode this bike from Cali to Idaho, Nor Cal to Mazatlán MX. I get told to upgrade to a bigger HD all the time but I love this all around bike. It’s a keeper so far for me. I did put Michelin 6s on and that totally improved handling.

      That’s just a random Amazon seat, but honestly it’s pretty comfortable.

    What tools did you use to install, mine just came in and I wanna know what tools I’d need to take home from work

    • @jackisoutside
      @jackisoutside  Месяц назад

      You’ll want a metric socket set with a ratchet and a long extension, metric Allen key set, and a good quality adjustable wrench will take the oxygen sensor off, as would a 17mm.

      Also, I just installed mine and the Check engine light came on, did you have the same issue?

    • @jackisoutside
      @jackisoutside  Месяц назад

      No, mine had no engine light. I don’t mean this in a mocking way at all, but did you make sure you plugged the sensor back in? I almost forgot it myself.

    sounds good man. I have the same color bike and want to get the same exhaust. Did it come with a baffle?

    • @jackisoutside
      @jackisoutside  3 месяца назад +1

      Yes, the video was taken with the baffles installed, but each outlet has a set screw (5mm Allen iirc) then you can pull it right out if you want it louder.

    do you have to have your ecu tuned after installing this?

    • @jackisoutside
      @jackisoutside  Месяц назад

      The manufacturer of the exhaust claims you don’t, but there’s a more significant HP gain if you do get a tune.

    • @jackisoutside
      @jackisoutside  Месяц назад +1

      Just checked with a DB app on my phone, I think they might give you problems unfortunately. If my phone app is to be believed, idle is 78db, and revs go over 80. I’ll update you on this if I get a more trustworthy reading.
