i'm three years late but i'm just starting to get into taking care of my curls. This is so informative and pleasant to watch. I can't wait to see the transformation of my hair.
Hi I live in India where there is lot of humidity and heat therefore my curly frizzy are dry-damaged-lot of split ended-lightening struck hair... I tried DIY deep conditioning oil treatment. 1.Put aloe Vera gel on my whole hair scalp root everywhere, 2. mix 2:1 coconut oil(olive oil/sesame oil is also great) and castor oil respectively, add 3-4 vitE capsules and heat it a bit...to make it also work like a serum(optional) I added 4-5 drops of essential oil(Rosemary or lavender or tea tree anything is fine). I kept it overnight on hair and washed in morning and did this for entire 1month...God my hair Finally began curling beautifully again... Do try it and tell me the result girls..
I am literally obsessed with oils in my hair. I use everything from coconut to castor to argan to sweet almond. I'm also low key obsessed with rosemary and peppermint. I can't tell you how much better my hair has become after 4 months of oiling every other week.
I have high porosity, fine, thin 3B hair. To deep condition, I add olive & coconut oils into my Shea Moisture masques. For scalp massages, I use JBCO with essential oils (for growth) but only before washing since it's a heavy oil. To seal moisture, I add several drops of argan oil to my leave-in KCKT conditioner so it's not too heavy. Those of us with finer, high porosity hair have a real balancing act with needing the moisture but getting weighed down by oils. However, I find the best results by adding them into my hair products vs on their own. Plus, I'm slightly obsessed with oils so I have a large collection to make face & body creams too. If I were a minimalist, my hair would be completely satisfied with argan and coconut oils only.
This sounds similar to my experience..My hair is mostly 3b with some 3a and 2c in the neck area. I didn’t use oil because my hairdresser would blow dry my hair. However, with the pandemic and the need to do my own hair, I’ve started roller set and experimenting with oil. I read about and discovered coconut oil which my hair loves, just a few drops in the palm and recently learned to finish with a couple of drops of argon or JoJoba oil. My hair doesn’t have the super polished look of salon hair but it’s glossy and healthy and has grown several inches.
I actually use a combination of oils and place in an applicator bottle - 2oz each of Olive, Castor, avocado, jojoba and grape seed. I use it with my deep conditioners and with praying hands to SOTC. Before bed I also use a little on my edges and nape before putting on my satin cap. Since stating this regimen my hair now retains moisture better, and isn’t dry nor does it break as much. Highly recommend adding oils to your routine!
Almond and Argan oil are also good ones. I mix olive oil, almond oil, grapeseed oil, avocado oil, argan oil with 15 drops of tea tree oil and use that as a hot oil treatment, pre-poo or even a sealant. Thank you for your continued support for us curlies.
I have already watched this video twice probably but I came back again, because I really like listening to you speak. It's so calming and distracting in a good way, when I am stressed or sad.
Prepoo with coconut oil overnight before wash day 👌🏽 I also love Apricot Oil, it's lightweight & a humectant. JBCO is too heavy for me. Rosemary & Peppermint Essential Oil can help with hair growth.
Your hair is getting really long! Your curls are beautiful! Love your curls and personality! You have such amazing hair tips. You have been such an amazing person in my curly hair journey! You have helped me so much! Thank you and keep up the amazing work! ❤️❤️😊
I love Jojoba oil! I mix jojoba oil with peppermint and rosemary essential oils to do scalp massages. I switch between using jojoba oil and almond oil and it adds shine, moisture and volume to my hair. Its a great combo when fluffing your roots with your fingers. I also use jojoba oil on the ends of my hair after refreshing my curls with a spray bottle and a leave in conditioner. It really makes all the difference for me.
Mohammed Qureshi I don’t want to my mom just can’t handle and said straightening it would make it more manageable.. but I’ve basically been heat styling my hair my whole life cause she would blow dry it and plat it

I love grapeseed oil. I have low porosity, thin strands. High density, protein sensitive 4a hair. I add castor, peppermint, rosemary to my prepoo. And use it as a sealant after I wash
After two years of neglect, I've started taking care of my hair again. I love coconut oil, it always improves the texture and condition of my 2C - 3A hair, and I love the smell of virgin coconut oil.
I always pre poo with a blend of oils before I wash my hair to detangle and nourish it. It will help your hair grow so fast and keep it super soft. Love this video !
My list of every carrier oil and essential oil that i own is long, but a few of my favorites are coconut, avocado, rosemary, sunflower, peppermint and castor oil. Rosemary essential oil is good for hair growth, Sunflower oil is very very oily so after i deep condition i usually use a little shampoo afterwards but it is great for controlling frizz, and Peppermint essential oil is also used to stimulate hair growth as well as getting rid of dandruff. I hope this helps a lot of you🙂
You're so right! Just reading the title I though... girl, you don't use oil! I'm so glad you made this video though! I've been using oils on my scalp for several months, but didn't realize the difference between oils that penetrate and oil that seal. Thank you for that knowledge!! Tip: I add a few drops of rosemary oil to my leave in conditioner because it makes it smell AMAZING and evidently, it's good for hair growth too. This also helps if you combine just one drop of rosemary oil to other oils that you don't like the smell of. It will make any oil smell wonderful!! Thanks for everything you do, Bianca!! #snapfam
This video just changed my life! Gave me soooo much knowledge and answered so many of my questions! I’ve been using Olive oil with Aloe as a deep conditioner and then my grapeseed as a sealant and it’s been amazing!!!
About 3 months ago I decided to try JBCO and it helped my eyebrows grow, in about a month I saw that hair grew where it normally would struggle. I really love argan oil, that is my favorite!
Aime C Thanks for sharing! I just bought JBCO and I used it once, but I'm worried about overusing it. Did you use it everyday? And did you have to wash it out every time you used it? :)
Yaniza I would use a spoolie (mascara wand) and comb the oil through my brows at night, a little goes a long way since it's very thick. After that I'd go to sleep and wash it off in the morning when washing my face. I did that almost every night for a month and it worked for me.
I dyed my hair a couple months ago and i noticed new growth everywhere except for my edges. So i started massaging in castor oil to before my wash day and throughout the week. Saw growth quick ah!
I've recently gotten into mixing my own oils to have more control over my hair's health. I love grapeseed oil, shea oil, castor oil (black or regular), and black seed oil as base/carrier oils. I like to do 1 part castor oil, to 2 parts jojoba oil. I rub my scalp with it. Let it sit over night. I do it 2 times a week. It makes my hair grown faster and be thicker.
I started working a Sally beauty and I know NOTHING about textured hair! your channel is an absolute life saver and my go to guide for curls and product reviews. Girl I'm so glad I found you 😭💖
My daughter has curly hair, and I’m learning how to take care of it. I usually wet it with a spray bottle, a couple sprays of leave in conditioner and then I’ve been doing coconut oil but I believe it’s too heavy, esp for everyday. Do you think jojoba oil could be used daily? Thank you!

I found her on pinterest for ppl with type 3 air and im so happy about cuz im only 14 and im still learning how to take care of my hair on my own i love her like where have you been all my life
I only use vitamin E oil and or Moroccan oil for the LOC method, to take down twist and braids, and to soften my hair between wash days. They're light enough to where I can use them daily if I want (but don't) and they don't have a smell, and they absorb well in my hair.
You need a thick oil, there is a difference between thick, medium, and light oils. Oilve &castor = thick oils, canola &Almond oil = medium oils , coconut and jojoba = light oils. If you have course hair you need a thick oil, softer hair you need a medium or light. Thin hair or hair with nor curls you need a light. Damaged hair can come from manipulation, bad diet, and hormones.
@@MissAngelaThunder Thanks for the info. She said JBCO for high porosity, which I am but my hair doesn't like a lot of "stuff" in it. No creams, my hair loves water but then gets frizz/dry later(winter worse) still not sure what to use.Tried olive oil and still frizzy.(know why now)
Lmao same. My hair rejects it both dry and wet/damp. The oils that suit me best are olive, argan and jojoba oil. My hair is 4b with 4a mixed in, very thick and medium porosity.
I use amla oil mixed with Jamaican black caster oil. Or my favorite Camille Rose honey nibbs and Coco. I use these on my scalp and hair. After applying oils I apply heat to my hair and sleep on it with a plastic cap and beanie. In the morning I apply more heat, let it cool off and then wash it off in the shower with shampoo and conditioner. Then style as usual using leave in conditioner, oil, curl cream (LOC) method.
I watched a previous video that someone else posted about hair oils. Led me to your channel after only to hear the same oils that made me happy to get a second opinion and I just purchased all these oils. Thank you
what does it do for your hair? like the benefits of using it? I'm on the road of recovery for my hair. It's been through a lot of heat damage and a little color damage so I've been doing my research since summer started.
DIY deep conditioner with a couple of what you showed! 9 parts coconut oil 9 parts Olive oil 3 parts aloe Vera gel 1 part honey A great deep conditioner. Makes my hair crazy soft 3b hair and 6 months on the curly trail
I use olive oil, Jamaican black castor oil and grapeseed oil 😊. The jbco is very for hair growth as I mind chopped my hair 4 months ago and helped it amazingly for hair growth. I use grapeseed to seal in moisture after leave in conditioner and olive oil I use to pre-poo, hot oil treatment when I feel I want my hair to be softer shinier and less frizzy 😙
the best oil for my hair is Morrocan argan oil! I don't know where it's a penetrating or lock-in oil but when I use it my hair is so soft - lovely to touch and has a healthy shine to it. I really love it
First day using oil. Chopped hair down to the gray. Starting over, just wanna be my true self @64😊. I will let you know what happens. Used coconut first, then evoo, then castor oil. Will let it stay in all night. Wash in am and continue with products and oils! I'll keep in touch! Thanks for the info. I appreciated it!
I use coconut, avocado, grape seed, almond, and olive oils mixed together and then applied as a hot oil treatment. Once or twice a week before I wash it. My hair was super damaged from the coloring and heat so it really brought back the healthy hair I had and my curls are starting to look more defined
I recently started using almond oil, its quite light weight and really helps me with frizz and locking in moisture. I put it on after leave in conditioner on soaking wet hair
i like mixing coconut oil and black castor oil the night before my wash day . i’ve seen really good result on my hair growth and it gives me extra moisture after deep conditioning .
I live in morroco so my mom has been giving me argan oil masks since I was a child and she always told me "As a curly girl, Argan oil+castor oil+coconut oil are your best friends. When you need a boost for your hair growth use castor oil+coconut as a mask overnight. when you need to detangle those stubborn strands of hair use Argan oil." And now 10 years later I Do not regret Keeping my hair mosturized and healthy!
I used coconut oil and it made my hair kind of hard. So thank you for confirming that. I won't use it anymore on my hair. About to watch your DIY olive oil treatment. That one might work. I have low porosity, type 2B hair that is very thick, dense and coarse.
I make a mixture of coconut oil, black castor oil, and tea tree oil. The coconut oil helps disperse the black castor oil since it's so thick, and a very little bit of tea tree oil smells amazing and is really healthy for your scalp. I also heat it before using as a hot oil treatment and for scalp massages.
I used to use coconut oil, then later found out I was protein sensitive and it did NOT work for me. I now use olive oil right after I shampoo, deep condition and apply a leave-in conditioner to my hair. I apply it to my scalp with an applicator bottle and massage into my scalp. I then apply a little bit to my hair before applying my styler. If my hair gets dry during the week, I just a little bit more oil on my hair before the styler. I do this for my hair and my daughter's hair as well and it works out great. Your lipstick was very pretty dear, Happy Sunday!
#snapfam I’m all about olive oil, my hair HATES coconut oil. I’m really wanting to try avocado oil. My husband for the first few times thought I was crazy stealing the olive oil from the kitchen for my hair! Now he understands the madness and loves my big curly hair.
castor oil on hair and edges; it is also good for eye brows. Use coconut oil on scalp before wash hair and use it on my face makes it soft. Grapeseed oil is good as well. Olive oil dries my hair out.
Bianca seems to have similar hair to my own but I've found that my hair no longer tolerates heavy oils. If coconut or avocado oil is too heavy for your hair try a blend with safflower oil. I found mine at Wal-Mart, cooking oil section, for $10 and my hair is loving it. Put a little in your water bottle for refreshing and/or mix with cream of any sort. The safflower oil helps the coconut and avocado oils penetrate and really lock in the moisture. I even use it for my skin and I'm so freaking soft now.
I know this is an older video but I really loved it! I've used most of these oils on my hair but currently I do a scalp massage once a week with jbco and argan oil mixed then I use a blend of coconut and olive with rosemary, lemon and tea tree essential oils on the length of my hair. I do this the night before I clarify my hair to precondition it. During the week I will use a few drops of argan oil to keep my hair moist but at this time I avoid my scalp. Thanks! You and curlypenny are my favorites!
Love the video! one thing about the coconut oil-coconut oil doesn't actually contain protein, a lot of people get confused about it because coconut oil is great to prevent protein loss from the hair, but it doensn't really contain protein in it. It's just very good at keeping the protein in your hair.. 😃 (And sorry if I had some english mistakes, it's not my language😅)
I have high porosity, 3b, 3c, and a little bit of 4a texture and my hair LOVES any oil that starts with an A...Argan, Almond, Avocado, Apricot....lol...my skin too! 🙌🏽🤗💜🙃🧡👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you for ,practically, educating us, curlies!🐑 During the covid I was sooo disciplined to look after my curls, applying oils before washes. That was such entertaining to exercise and do beauty procedures.... Ah,where it's all gone...?
My pre washing oil recipe: butter, coconut oil, virgin olive oil My night time oil, make sure to was out after an 1 hour , rosemary oil and castor oil all in a hot pot. The put some avocados till the avocado become soft. Put it all in a pot and that my oil Styling oil: grape seed + jojoba oil
I love coconut oil & Amla oil. I am indian n those work for me since I was a child. You're so awesome gf. Keep up the sharing and great work. Looking forward to your DIYs
Great video. I love and use grape seed oil and avocado oil for my braid outs. It's light and my hair comes out shiny and soft. Use JBCO oil for my edges.
Thanks. Great info. I use olive oil. After I wash with Jamaican black castor oil shampoo and conditioner , I use olive oil and moisturize, I use olive oil as a sealant. This leaves allot of hydrated curls. Beautiful shine throughout my curls
I can't use oils or conditioner on my scalp (finicky scalp, long story (need medicated shampoo for it)), but I use it in a thing called an oil rinse. In between my 2 conditioning treatments I put a tiny pump of oil (baby oil) on the last 2/3 inches of my hair, then immediately follow with my second conditioner. It is awesome. And I still follow up with my LOC/LCO method. It keeps my ends moisturized the entire week!
I love Jamaican castor oil it help me with growth. Coconut oil i like it leaves my hair soft but i also feel live a very sunny place it can make that middle part of my hair feel dry😍😍
I have used oils in my hair off and kn my whole life, but not consistently. I have been a swimmer and a surfer my whole life so my hair is pretty damaged. It’s down to my butt but the ends are breaking and/or have split ends. Even the split ends have split ends! It’s also thick, coarse, frizzy, and wavy. At least I don’t blow dry my hair straight after each time it gets wet anymore. 😂Currently, I have jojoba oil, Argan oil, vitamin E oil, and OlaPlex oil, that I’m playing with. I may consider using coconut oil for detangling, and prior to going in showers or the ocean, thanks to your video.
Hi Bianca, I am new here and looving your tutorials. My daughters and I have different type of curls and decided to finally learn how to better treat them :-) thanks for you help. God bless.
My hair loves coconut oil. I too use it to detangle and as a hot oil treatment. It even helps in curling my hair when my hair feels limp and less ringlety.

YOUR CURLS LOOKED AMAZING IN THIS VIDEO I NEED TO know what products you used in ur hair. PLEASE do an updated curly hair routine
I watched a previous video that someone else posted about hair oils. Led me to your channel after only to hear the same oils that made me happy to get a second opinion and I just purchased all these oils. Thank you
Sweet almond oil! I have been using it for the last 6 month... My hair love it!!!
what does it do for your hair? like the benefits of using it? I'm on the road of recovery for my hair. It's been through a lot of heat damage and a little color damage so I've been doing my research since summer started.
Yes, great super light moisturizing oil! I usually use avocado oil, but if I need more midweek (or my sons thinner hair is dry) that stuff is the best
sweet almond oil is so rich in nutritient for hair, body and nails. compare to coconut oil is so nobile
Is almond oil a sealer or penetrating?
your hair is so so so so so beautiful !!!
DIY deep conditioner with a couple of what you showed!
9 parts coconut oil
9 parts Olive oil
3 parts aloe Vera gel
1 part honey
A great deep conditioner. Makes my hair crazy soft
3b hair and 6 months on the curly trail
1.Avocado Oil
2-Coconut oil
3-grape seed oil
4-Olive oil
shine , growth and for my strech marks :)
I love grape seed oil it gives me a healthy shine & doesn't disturb my curl pattern or weigh the hair down
I use olive oil, Jamaican black castor oil and grapeseed oil 😊.
When you need a boost for your hair growth use castor oil+coconut as a mask overnight. when you need to detangle those stubborn strands of hair use Argan oil."
And now 10 years later I Do not regret Keeping my hair mosturized and healthy!
Bianca I love all of your videos, you are most informative curl evangelist I've ever seen and my curls have never looked so good and lasted so long!
Avocado, olive oil, Jamaican black castor oil. Grape seed oil. All rock for me and my daughter. Blessings
Grappeseed oil is life to me !!!!!
I've been using castor oil for about 3 1/2 months and I have seen significant growth and strengthening in my hair
Girl your curls give me life, gorgeous😍😍😍
I use grape seed, jojoba, coconut oils. Coconut oil is my favorite.
I personally mix coconut and olive oil and it has worked really well for my hair and I also love Jamaican black castor oil
Ive been using argon oil and its been helping my curls come back! I love it!
argan *
Grape seed oil smells very sugary but does has asmell
argan oil and castor oil works really well on my hair. its grown 4 inches in the last 5 weeks.
I loved this video! It was so informative and I learned a lot about other oils. Currently I'm using an almond oil on my hair.
#snapfam I’m all about olive oil, my hair HATES coconut oil. I’m really wanting to try avocado oil. My husband for the first few times thought I was crazy stealing the olive oil from the kitchen for my hair! Now he understands the madness and loves my big curly hair.
interesting, I can imagine my partner giving me the same look lol
the things us curly hair people have to do for our hair...
I love peppermint oil, because it helps with a dry, itchy scalp. Argan oil is good too!
Jojoba, coconut, grape seed, castor oils. I just started using grape seed oil, light weight and I love that there isn't any smell.
Super Super informative and I am all ready a natural remedy lover - great video lady!!!
Avocado oil works the best in my hair. I feel it helps my twist outs turn out the best every time.
I love to use the mango and lime coconut JBCO to massage my scalp with. Its feels and smells wonderful and helped alot with healthy hair growth!
castor oil on hair and edges; it is also good for eye brows.
I like coconut oil and lavender oil
macadamia oil is the best for me , it gives me strength and shine ...and it smells sooo good. grapeseed oil is a close second
My pre washing oil recipe: butter, coconut oil, virgin olive oil
My night time oil, make sure to was out after an 1 hour
, rosemary oil and castor oil all in a hot pot. The put some avocados till the avocado become soft. Put it all in a pot and that my oil
Styling oil: grape seed + jojoba oil
Rosemary oil and horsetail extract oils are fantastic for helping blood flow to the scalp promoting hair growth. They have worked Wonders for me!!
Alma oil!!! I love it. Not sure if it's an actual oil or a mixture of multiple oils but it's amazing and it's a moisturizing oil...not a sealant
Sweet almond oil is also a penetrating oil and is lighter and less greasy than coconut oil, so if coconut oil doesn't work try sweet almond oil :)
Thanks.
Coconut, jojoba, grape seed oils. Love them, they aren't heavy. I do on occasion use sweet almond oil. Mostly, in my deep conditioner.
God bless.
Oh I'm super excited you showed me oils something I've appreciate it the past!!!
I love black seed oil
my favourites oils is coconut olive oil & avocado
My hair loves coconut oil. I too use it to detangle and as a hot oil treatment. It even helps in curling my hair when my hair feels limp and less ringlety.
You listed my top three! Jojoba, grapeseed and JBCO. I have low porosity hair.
