What happened with The Marvels is far from shocking and knew it was going to fail since announcement. As for the MCU itself, it has largely been trending downward since Endgame with a ton of subpar products and no direction. Its not that people are tired of Superheroes, but people are tired of shitty movie/series after shitty movie/series.
