As a roc/rok veteran(first started on server 1033 when released) I gotta say this cod, seems a LOT more friendly to the f2p experience than its predecessor. Certainly have peaked my interest
Yeah but at some point when you'll unlock almost everything like the t5, yes those whales will still have an advantage but less, you'll be able to beat them
Realistically I think this game takes over a year to max out most things without any money. None of these things have to be done though, organization and teamwork is still extremely powerful. You can always migrate servers and the seasons and alliance warfare is still challenging and fun even after a year. Like lots of other games but the graphics and content is on an another level. If you are still playing rok you really should give cod a chance. If you are just starting, this game is good and like rok it will take a long time to collect and complete everything.
Another thing to consider when it comes to troop capacity is the tier of the units. As far as I could tell it is way better to fill your legion cap with T1 and then proceed to promote them once you are full. I am a mid spender, but even with spamming speedup on training I would not have full marches without this method. Checking at the stats and the training times I think this is more efficient as tiers simple look like multiple units. One T3 has the stats of 3 T1 units combined and their training time is the same as this. It means training a T1 and promoting it to T3 takes the exact same time as training a T3 from nothing. Hence I think there is no point to do that until you fill.

as a very active F2P player, pushing dragon trials and getting my 10 behemoth guard kills every day, i've found myself with 600k+ excess prestige, and the thunder roc hasn't even unlocked yet for me. I'm starting to gem the 10hour+ policy queues on resource gathering and load capacity. running out of resources to do building upgrades and tech is a real issue with F2P, so I think the gathering boosts is worth gemming for once you hit that excess
Hey! Fellow whale here. You get a TON of value if you max a hero. If you have it maxed then pull it from keys you get 10 season tokens which you can use for any hero.

Gem farming: you get "gem poisonning" which slows down gem farming after around 1000 gems a week. Darkling farming: darkling hits way too hard to be chained farmed anyway.
My alliance finally saw the power of a whale first hand. 2nd strongest alliance on the server sent over one legion to our space. It wiped so many people out that we realized we couldn't put up a fight.
No joke. Fresh server/season, ive played around a week, lvl 19, and in comes some dude lvl 25 and rapes the whole alliance. He got all the merit points now im sure
Soooo you're speaking that game is more friendly for f2p and low-spenders players, but at the same time how can it be more friendly if: 1) having stamina means that whale can send 10-20 experted golden coms against your 2-4, assuming active f2p can make 3 comms per year as in ROK (because they have gems to spin and money to buy heads) and as f2p your just squished then cause you only have blue and violet comms to go. 2) you have 1000 gems per week limit which means less spins which means less commanders and other things to compete against p2w (they just buy gems and thats it) 3) you have rss transfer limit per week which means you cannot use farms to provide as many rss as p2w player has (they just buy it, no matter from official store or other players - thats only affect final price). 4) and on top of that you need to somehow find gems to put in basic techs and artefacts each season to have something to compete.
lol I was the same but eventually I decided it was a good idea. You don’t need to have one but it sure makes things a little easier. Kind of nice investing in a farmer account and then that account getting all the best random legendary drops :.)

I've heard of having a farm account, but I don't understand how you would be able to send resources to your main account. Don't you have to be in the same Alliance with both? And if that's the case, then you're effectively taking up an Alliance slot with a useless account. I get that's it's beneficial to you, but doesn't it hurt the Alliance? Would they even accept your alt account?

The problem with this type of game is that higher level players just wipe you out and can do so repeatedly. What's the point if you are attacked over and over and lose everything.

Ngl the chianing in rise of kingdoms was annoying, because even tho U would think it helps f2p, it just waste alot of time, and makes you feel that you work the game not play it, I think with enough experience and skills you can get to high level even in RoK without Chaining.
CoD is fun but the devs and "staff" don't GAF. I've reported TOS abuse over and over and they choose to just ignore. I get it - they have a bottom line which isn't the players. You readers won't care about this unless\until you've become the victim of it but then it's too late. Money spent and gone. I'm definitely recommending staying free to play and not spending money on this game if you want to stay happy and see value. You have been warned and it's your money...
Ok watched the whole video and I can't say that I like it very much. There's alot of gray point you are making. 1. Rushing power early. You never really explained how that is suppose to be done? You need to focus on you main building and only use speed ups on something that needs to be build for main building. 2. Leveling heroes. Ofc use your CP, it's a given but another even more important thing is farming. You need to get your farmers to level 20 and then use your heroes you want to level up with them. You mentioned that but explanation was abit iffy. 3. Then you are strong enough dont use second squad (leutenant or whatever it's called) to kill darklings. Use 3 squads with one hero per each so they dont share the XP with something you dont want to level up. 4. Events. Events are good for gaining extra stuff you wouldn't normaly but always check th rewards first sometimes it's better if it's something that uses CP to just kill darklings then raiding level 1 fortress for 3k XP reward then you can use your CP and kill darklings and get 4k XP per hero. 5. I would never recomend to focus on cavalery heroes in early game. It is way better to just train level 1 transport units to be able to gather more recourses and get more xp then get T2 units and have less AFK time between farming sesions. 6. Gems. First buy - second builder. No question there. Second use all gems on VIP as soon as you get them. Untill 8 (I think it's 8) VIP there's no better investment for gems then that. Keeping gems at hand will just temp you to use them on other things. 7. Artifacts. I think it's just a luck thing there. If you get lucky and draw a good legend artifact early you can invest all your dust into it, but if you dont get it just save your dust and maybe use some of it for quests/achievments only. And still use bare minimum until that legendary. 8. Thing that worked best for me is rushing T3 units and then slowing down abit. You use T2 units besides T2 cavarlary units for early game and once you unlock T3 you use them for quite a while so rushing them always payed off for me. 9. Alliance.Yep find a good alliance with active members. Dont get into wars or I would say even try to avoid them if the choise is between: leveling ur heroes or helping allience to take down a tower. 10. Be nice in Tamaris chat. If you mess with whales later on that might be a reason why once some fight event starts you will be the target. Also if you are waring with someone and you are "Graceful in defeat and kind in Victory" you might be able to hop to new alliance that is stronger then ur current one more easily simply because you were nice to them. P. S. I get this is a 1 her old long video but alot of this here are off. Played on 8 accounts and tryed alot of diffrent strategies. What you are mentioning here doesnt work most of the times that's why I''m chipping in
The literally thing that stops me from playing these games the way id like f2p is the fact that yes I can play free to play, power up just for a whale to come along and wipe me….. now Ive lost progress and have to grind resources and time just to get back where I was before
I can relate. The only solution I have found is getting into a good alliance. It can still happen but having a team helps tremendously. The wall and city upgrades always make me sweat a little when I’m sitting on so many resources.

Usually a farm is temporarily accepted into the alliance to transfer the rss, then your farm returns to a farm alliance.
Is there any benefit to saving keys to open chests?
Only right now while we wait for Bhakar to go to gold keys

I have no regrets gemming kinnara, but you’re right to consider pushing vip which is also a good alternative. I haven’t done the comparison.

Personally I'd say the graphics are improved. Just look at the call of dragons rivers on max quality and a rise of kingdoms river on max quality.
Way better imo the merit system and combat is really good compared to rok also free healing

The literally thing that stops me from playing these games the way id like f2p is the fact that yes I can play free to play, power up just for a whale to come along and wipe me….. now Ive lost progress and have to grind resources and time just to get back where I was before
I can relate. The only solution I have found is getting into a good alliance. It can still happen but having a team helps tremendously. The wall and city upgrades always make me sweat a little when I’m sitting on so many resources.
How probably is it to get your city level to 24 in 18 days? There is currently an offer from tokyocatch to earn gems that way.
