I thought you're supposed to remove the fingers after discovering cord prolapse and immediately change the mom's position. Doesn't having the fingers in place pose a risk of cord rupture?
The fingers should not touch the cord but the presenting part, so that the pressure from presenting part over the cord is released or compression is removed.
