Been following your videos from the beginning! Incredible content. Would love to see more of these hot tips on sail trim/boat handling. Technique for balancing the boat with both sails, judging the wake and rudder pressure. Cheers 🍻
Thanks! Will do!

En voila une nouvelle : ruclips.net/video/1H8gPnViyRg/видео.html
Toujours agréable… merci
I think it's time for An Ale II, you can't escape anymore😊
Hehe, maybe ?
What a lovely life. Lovely boat. Lovely location. allez les Ann Alé. Here is a question. Which of your boats do you miss most? =)
Good question! All of them I guess, all boats are a trade off... I miss Ann Alé for its low cost and ease of operation, the mini 6.50 for the speed....etc
Just saying, years ago I found your videos. You should make more.
haha, yeah, but time is scarce :)
Il y a longue temps. Says I in my school French . Long time no see.
Here is for a new one : ruclips.net/video/1H8gPnViyRg/видео.html
Parfait Hugo ! Merci encore pour cette vidéo !!
4 ans en arrière… aïe
Et aujourd’hui pas de nouvelles ?
🤙
Hehe, presque fini les images de Ann Alé, alors peut être bientôt les nouvelles nouvelles :)
❤❤❤
Thanks for putting the date in. While your accent has changed over the years and you looked younger it’s good to put it into the proper time line.
While the 8 meter boat is much heavier then the 6.5 mini transatlantic, how would the small electric motor, you used on the 6.5, work with the heavier 8?
Thanks for that
regarding the electric motor... that's a good questions, I'd have liked to try both to compare. I think it would have been just enough to manoeuver inside the harbor, but probably a bit light in 15/20kts dead into the wind in a narrow channel for example
I have been following your channel for months... and wanted to ask about border crossing while sailing - what's the procedure? how long does it take? You have done it so many times both in Europe and in the Caribbean. Could you please share your experience and tips/life-hacks? Thanks!
It really depends on the country, each country has its own customs and immigration procedures. Can be a 5min free form to fill on a computer (French islands in the Caribbean ) or a 1 hours + painful process ending up costing 100$+ in other island (Antigua or BVI for example)
@@TheSailingFrenchman many thanks for the answer and for sharing your experience- useful even when this short! Cheers!
Mr. Frenchman, what are you using as a hinge for the instruments? The 2 blue legs look like some flexible gopro mounts.
Checkout Locline, it's primarily used for cooling liquid in CNC machines
@@TheSailingFrenchman looks like a smart solution. Thank you, very much appreciated!
Hey Hugo, love your video’s from the Ann Alé time 😊
Are you going back on the water in 2024/ 2025?
Greetings from Holland 👋
That's the plan! But not sure how yet :)
Keeping you posted soon
It's a bit like living on a rough street, in a rough area with noisy neighbors..
Hi, I see you have 3 reef lines in this rather small boat and mainsail. Do you think it is necessary, did you use it? Thx
I habe only two reefs. I am in the 2nd reef above 20+knt. Above that I dont want to be in the water anymore with a small boat like that. If you get nailed with more, a third "little handkerchief" out might be nice to keep the boat balanced having the tourmentine up in front.
If you go offshore, I think it is mandatory to have it
Look at episode #20, in more than 30/35kts of wind, it's good to keep the boat moving without stressing the equipment too much
Thank you!
How much are you selling your boat for ?
Sold her for less than I hoped ;)
Answer in the next episode or 2
anyone know why he selling the boat?
Gone long ago. I think he did with the ecume what he wanted to do and moved on. Its a nice little boat, a French classic.
Had to go racing around the world. Check out from episode 90 onwards
Je vous envie... 😅
