This one was sad. Really showed the Chief was a gentle soul... He was old school and not perfect but he had a big heart. It also shows the struggle for cops like him... Everyone thinks cops go home after a shoot out all happy & proud but no... Not necessarily NOT AT ALL. The Chief was a truly good cop! I believe there's many of them & we can't imagine the trauma they face on a daily basis. I wish these shows still existed... Nowadays they take the side of the criminals 🙄😭🙄
Chief Carl Kanisky was the kind of cop that you want your kids to look up to. His character, portrayed by the late Dolph Sweet, wasn't perfect but his behavior and the class he showed in this episode stand out. He was the cop that made you proud to call him the police chief. Yes, this is a fictional show, but Sweet did a great job portraying Kanisky.
This episode definitely touched on a serious topic for its time. That's what I love about this show in particular and how it wasn't afraid to bring up anything which would be considered "taboo", even to this day. One of my favorite sitcoms for sure. What did you think?
It is one of my favorites too. Episodes that I especially enjoyed were the "Emergency", "Katie Steals Julie's Jock" and "Samantha's Protest". On top of that, I grew up having the biggest crush on Julie!
0:01-0:08, 0:53-1:00: I went to the House on July 8, 2023. It is located at 515 South Norton Avenue in Los Angeles. The exterior wall is now painted light green, and the shutters are now painted dark green.
A great episode! My Favorite episodes of Gimme a break are Porko’s 2, Julie’s rejection, and this one, You’re prisoner is dead. Julie is my Favorite of the 3 girls.

My favorite episode. Shows what Law Enforcement faces daily and why we must appreciate them.

This is a family show. The TV networks dont make family shows any more.
My heart went out to Chief Kanisky in this episode. It showed that Chief Kanisky was human.
Great 👍 episode.
Most realistic acting

Speaking of priests, i am not a Catholic but I once stopped at the priests house just to talk about lifes problems. He was very helpful.

That's Hoppy officer Hopkins Smitty's partner from Sanford and Son.
I have the boxset miss you nell Carter and the other cast members who are no longer with us
Sam is obnoxious as hell.
I have a distinct taste of a foot in my mouth 👄

Julie is my favorite too! I especially like the way that she looks in boots. That is why "Katie Steals Julie's Jock" is my favorite episode.
Sam is my favorite, that voice.
I love the show. Nell Carter is wonderful & missed😥 The last scene at the end was uncomfortable. Forcing her to wear that tutu was creepy.
Katie honey 🍯 weren't you supposed to pick up my pants hose? And a cover for her book 📖 report? What happened?
That's Chuck the ventriloquist from the TV show Soap playing the priest.
