Man, I love how organic and varied your layouts are. I always end up just making squares. Or maybe one big circle. But that underground layout looks so nice.
Man, I know you put a LOT of effort drawing and editting, but your videos are just the perfect videos for me to just play and go to sleep. It is like watching a documentary. Great sleep videos in a good way.
This is the best DF content on RUclips I've seen since JefMajor was doing shenanigans nearly a decade ago! Love how you bring out the stories in the game whilst keeping the pace up so the viewer never gets bored looking at all the ASCII. Keep up the good work. 👏
Your forts are always so exotic in design I love it. I always go with squares and rectangles everywhere. Also VERY lucky with that turn of events and the undead going below ground, I've had more than one fort fall in the first couple years to the Undead.
I really like the outro :D Its a really nice touch. Maybe your necromancer lost his beard testing a experimental dye on his beard? He really should consider writing a book containing the secrets of life and.... dye. Just to annoy wannabe necromancers
Oh man, the sheer scale of Scorchfountain gives me flashbacks to a tabletop megadungeon my party and I played through. Place called Ashpeak, the regional capital of Fire Giants and a huge dormant volcano situated in a country-spanning mountain range. I'll tell ya, a volcano city full of furious, war-like, combat-ready individuals is hell to fight through. I pity the goblin that tries to fight through Scorchfountain's residential area.
Krugg I seriously appreciate your content and the personality you put into it. Just thanks dude, nothing else to say really, just thanks. Oh wait, you also have been a part of ongoing inspiration to start drawing that I've been doing since the new year.
That stamp that viewer Inkskull made is just insane! This is the first time I've seen what appears to be a hand-finished rubber ink stamp. The skill of Krugg's viewership is amazing.
I love the 'flavour' this channel has. So much fun listening to the story and the artistic presentation is soothing on the eyes. :) Glad i finally found this gem on youTube.
in the book of Finnish myth, Kalevala, there was a great oak tree that blocked the sun and the flight of the birds, trying to find someone to cut the tree down the first man Vainamoinen met a small dwarf dressed in copper armour, with a copper axe, offering to cut it down. Thinking the dwarf could never do it, Vainamoinen allowed him to. Promptly, the dwarf grew into a giant and cut the treee in one stroke. The copper armour reminded me of this.
Just finished watching the end of the Steelclutches Series. I would say you are locked in, per your wishes! Congrats on such a long running and entertaining channel.
Fantastic design! Not efficient, but sure looks great, and well, you kinda get bored of optimized designs after a while. I really love the necromancer, its so much fun to see how a fort necromancer interacts and what mechanics is at work. I am thinking his lack of beard is maybe because of whatever culture he is part of. I don't know the exact mechanics of how cultural styles are applied, but I do believe that fx prisoners can be forced to adopt the style of the culture imprisoning them. If you look into his history you might find that he have been part of some non-dwarfen civ maybe. For the water, well, if you aren't planning to bring the water up, then its worth pointing out that wells have no limits on how far down the water can be. And you can build wells on top of each other. You could dig a tunnel down to the water and have the well way above. Maybe build a tube around the path if goes to open caverns for security, and build appropriate security features down at the water source to make sure no flying beasties enter the fort that way. Only downside is that it might take a while for a bucket to go up and down, so it could take a while for a dwarf to get water, but you could make multiple wells so they can draw water at the same time to offset it somewhat. And lovely fanart, probs to those who made it!
Rock and Stone to the Bone!! dont forget you must have 2000decoration points in order to fulfill the guild needs and I can highly suggest to carve out a temple area as soon as possible because if you leave it for later when your dwarves are already unfocused you gonna get a lot of stressed worshipping dwarves....some of them have 4-5 gods they want to worship and they cannot do it all at once
Gosh, do I love your videos. You manage to capture the essence of Dwarf Fortress so well, keeping it clise to what really happens, but adding that spoonful of your own interpretations to make it really interesting, like micibg vinegar and baking soda to create a overflowing glass of inagination. Even in my own fortresses, I rarely manage to really get to know my dwarves, even though I want to. Thanks for these videos!
Great episode as always, ya bearded bastard! I laughed out loud a few times, especially the joke about the necromancer on standby (You totally weren't joking :P). I'm also looking forward to see what happens with Beetlebaby. It seems a lot of children in this game have interesting stories as they grow up XD hopefully she's no exception!
Boo yeah! These are the dwarves I remember! You got characters like a beardless(?) necromancer, and BeetleBane, a dwarf who's seen enough trouble for *three* dwarf lifetimes! Of course, necromancers are *supposed* to be a little...off. Random Dwarf: "So, why no beard?" Moldath: "Are you certain you want to know? The answers you so carelessly seek are so terrible, so fearful, they might drive you *mad!* Of course...if you are that *that* curious..." -Evil laugh.- RD: "Ah, no, thank you. Forget I ever asked." -Backs away nervously.- You have to grant him a certain courage. He did seal up those zombies, alone. His reasons? Unknown, but I look forward to hearing more about this dwarf fortress. Great video series!
For their hunt of all life, lead them into the darkness, only to be sealed within it. Becoming part of the many horrors which all evil sprang from. Lol those zombies

Also Moldath: Ill block up the caverns, IM USED TO ZOMBIES! *as he books it across to the stair access* other dwarves: We are both impressed and still really creeped out by you
The amount of detail is exquisite around here. Krugg even prepared all the different little sounds of surroundings, not to mention hand drawn number of episode!

A neurosurgeon fisherman. Outsanding. Just for laughs, I ALWAYS make my main butcher the Chief Medical Dwarf, and my custom profession fro medic includes butchery and bonecarving. I feel this is the dwarven way.
Man, love the revised intro, it's so epic! And I can't help but be reminded of Venomblood when you nicknamed Beetlebaby, let's hope she has a just as exciting career as the former ahead of her. And it really does seem like the game knows which dwarves are found to be interesting, at least for now. It is random after all, so more notable dwarves may spring up the longer things go on! Can't wait to see the next episode with more adventures for all of them.

Man, I love how organic and varied your layouts are. I always end up just making squares. Or maybe one big circle. But that underground layout looks so nice.
That artwork at the end is so cool. Good episode Krugg.
Fantastic episode and I *love* all the fan art at the end! Especially the one with the beardless necromancer and his silent "damned one" companion!
This man talks with passion, and everyone can feel the vibe
Your forts are always so exotic in design I love it. I always go with squares and rectangles everywhere. Also VERY lucky with that turn of events and the undead going below ground, I've had more than one fort fall in the first couple years to the Undead.
I really like the outro :D Its a really nice touch.
Maybe your necromancer lost his beard testing a experimental dye on his beard?
He really should consider writing a book containing the secrets of life and.... dye. Just to annoy wannabe necromancers
This is amazing. I love how you embellish the gameplay narration with the hand drawings.
I absolutely loved the artworks that the community created around the lore that you got going on here
I love the presentation. The drawings, their style and the effort that goes into them is really cool.
The outro as well.
I love the new animated intro! Always pleased to see you in my inbox once again! Thank you for the heart you pour into this endeavor.
Krugg I seriously appreciate your content and the personality you put into it. Just thanks dude, nothing else to say really, just thanks.
Oh wait, you also have been a part of ongoing inspiration to start drawing that I've been doing since the new year.
God those Blue Beetles make me So Very Happy every time I see them!!
This is my favourite fortress so far! And your storytelling is fantastic as always. Very enjoyable.
That stamp that viewer Inkskull made is just insane! This is the first time I've seen what appears to be a hand-finished rubber ink stamp. The skill of Krugg's viewership is amazing.
All craftsmanship was of the highest quality.
I love this series. So far this has captivated me more than any TV drama... Keep it up!
I love the 'flavour' this channel has. So much fun listening to the story and the artistic presentation is soothing on the eyes. :)
Glad i finally found this gem on youTube.
in the book of Finnish myth, Kalevala, there was a great oak tree that blocked the sun and the flight of the birds, trying to find someone to cut the tree down the first man Vainamoinen met a small dwarf dressed in copper armour, with a copper axe, offering to cut it down. Thinking the dwarf could never do it, Vainamoinen allowed him to. Promptly, the dwarf grew into a giant and cut the treee in one stroke. The copper armour reminded me of this.
You have gotten so amazing I love this series, I waited to watch because I like to binge but this series is 10x better than I thought
I just now found your channel and I spent the last few hours binging all your series. Keep up the great work!
Rock and Stone to the Bone!!
dont forget you must have 2000decoration points in order to fulfill the guild needs
and I can highly suggest to carve out a temple area as soon as possible because if you leave it for later when your dwarves are already unfocused you gonna get a lot of stressed worshipping dwarves....some of them have 4-5 gods they want to worship and they cannot do it all at once
right right. Yeesh, we still have a *lot* to do, huh?
Oh shit. This is why I'm happy only worshipping Princess Celestia.
*That opening :D*
Armok Yeah,
Great episode as always, ya bearded bastard! I laughed out loud a few times, especially the joke about the necromancer on standby (You totally weren't joking :P). I'm also looking forward to see what happens with Beetlebaby. It seems a lot of children in this game have interesting stories as they grow up XD hopefully she's no exception!
Inkskull! Beautiful work you did there, such a cool stamp design.
Great video, masterfully crafted...
Boo yeah! These are the dwarves I remember! You got characters like a beardless(?) necromancer, and BeetleBane, a dwarf who's seen enough trouble for *three* dwarf lifetimes!
Of course, necromancers are *supposed* to be a little...off.
Random Dwarf: "So, why no beard?"
Moldath: "Are you certain you want to know? The answers you so carelessly seek are so terrible, so fearful, they might drive you *mad!* Of course...if you are that *that* curious..." -Evil laugh.-
RD: "Ah, no, thank you. Forget I ever asked." -Backs away nervously.-
You have to grant him a certain courage. He did seal up those zombies, alone. His reasons? Unknown, but I look forward to hearing more about this dwarf fortress. Great video series!
Love the intro, thanks for putting out awsome work for us to watch!
In every way this series is an improvement and refinement over your works up to it. Fantastic work!!!
For their hunt of all life, lead them into the darkness, only to be sealed within it. Becoming part of the many horrors which all evil sprang from. Lol those zombies
lol indeed!
tomb of horrors, should replace the flooring with a bridge, so further monstrosities can be captured down there :D
The legendary dyer necromancer is something straight out of Discworld, I love it.
Just started watching this series... great work! I love the graphics you made for everything, it really adds to the stories. :)
Cant wait to see how you interact with the main civilization. Great intro!
The learning curve is so high on this game that I am so, so amazingly happy that you do this series.
Started watching your stuff on my brother's recommendation, been binge watching it for the last week and having the goddamn time of my life. Glad there's a series I can follow along with in realtime now, keep up the amazing stuff dude.
23:41 I love the organic layout of your fortresses - mine usually end up a collection of small, utilitarian, rectangular rooms...
11:47 such a great picture! I love it!
HELL YEAH! So much quality in the intro, adds to the story tenfold in every way! Love the look of the mountain, and the shadows!
Also Krugg I am lovin’ the little additions your adding, with the flails and beetles. Keep that stuff up
I am ADORING the extra "animating" and sound effects! And new intro to herald a mighty new fortress, HUZZAH!
Thank the lord quarantined watching krugg until the apoc...
The way life should work... I think
(I could just be getting cabin fever...)
UPLOADED 31 SECONDS AGO LET'S GOOOOOOO
Niko best cat
I've wanted to say your artistic ability, editing, and video quality keep improving with every upload. You're a youtuber of the highest craftdwarfsmanship.
Also Moldath: Ill block up the caverns, IM USED TO ZOMBIES! *as he books it across to the stair access*
other dwarves: We are both impressed and still really creeped out by you
Holy cow the entire intro, not just the pixel one, is different. Good Job. I like it.
Aww yah- new intro! Quite the explosive one too. Most excellent.
I drop everything to watch Kruggsmash. Best content on youtube. Tickles me right in my D&D/FRPG bone.
Dang, everyone's in quarantine this week.
Even the dwarves. x)
Next few weeks too.
18:20 seeds of warcrimes
What you're able to get done in a week is truly stunning. I hope you and Mrs. Kruggsmash are fairing well in these troubling times.
Im practicing social distancing since my job shut down and youtube is keeping me sane. Thanks Krugg
The amount of detail is exquisite around here. Krugg even prepared all the different little sounds of surroundings, not to mention hand drawn number of episode!
Mein Gott! Such a good intro, really loving the unique ones for these first two episodes. Hope they aren't too hard to put together. As always thanks for the entertainment mate!
Krug as always you bring the best quality. I noticed you also support other dwarf fortress users, I noticed your name in a credits page and though Man this is dwarf is a jewel in the DF community. Thanks for your content dude! I've loved all your stories and can't wait for the next arena
