If the question was reversed and asked a male celeb if he was going home with lot of girls it would be taken as a compliment and the guy could be proud of it whereas for women being with multiple guys is deemed a controversial thing and something to speculate about and as an insult.

Nah it's bc newbies in the field are too immersed in trying to do a good job and stirring stories about celebrities. It's bc of how the world works and the culture. (Well doesn't have to be newbies, also those who thinks this is a way to make a living rather than using their brains, doing their research, aka part of their job, and asking good questions)
Its the fact that people admire them and care about their opinions. Journalists know this so they try to get something out of them that will interest not only rhe fans of the celebrity but the general audience. How come on, if you can't handle a question, you should not be in this business. Everybody in all walks of life are going to be asked questions that they find rude, you let it roll off your back and move on. They all have enough money to quit the industry if they want to or just do less public appearances but in reality they are addicted to the attention they get. That's why they all go to the restaurants where the paparazzi are camped out at.

It's not like everyone purposely goes out for the attention, that's why paparazzis' cameras get smashed or their faces get punched. Not that none of them like attention... but they can literally be out in no makeup with sunglasses and baseball caps on trying to not be recognized and they'll still get swarmed. I think after being asked disrespectful questions so many times, you're bound to give a "wtf are you asking" response. Like ScarJo said, she'd been asked that like 5 times.
