Hollywood turned its back on Frances Farmer when she needed help the most. Mental illness is never a laughing nor trivialized matter.

That’s guy who killed himself, Cobain, he was obsessed it is reported, with this woman’s pressures. But she made her own problems. People all of her life, tried to help her. She became a communist. He became totally rebellious. Look, lots of people have horrible problems. I have. But you rebel and become a problem for everyone you deal with, you are going to pay a huge price.
You need to forgive, be humble, and treat all people well. There will be jerks who attack you. Yes, they have attacked others. They are empty inside. They do not have peace. They take out their anger on the world. Let them burn up.
Cobain should have had that mindset, that spiritual aspect.
He should have realized that she died. A film was made, books were written etc. There was no need for him to fight her battles. They were over.
Young people need to see celebrities as what they were or are: they have some fame. That’s it. They are not important. They are often lost souls. I’ve known many. Even ones who you might think were strong are often weak, confused and sometimes, in some kind of trouble.

"Nutritional Research"...does that mean she was a cook?
He was impressed with her "raw talent and magnetic presence", translation; she was hot.
Her stays in mental hospitals were horrific to be sure. Luckily in the US we've closed all these places and now let the people they would have housed live on the streets...a much better system.

The lobotomy rumors have never really been confirmed.

I saw the movie Frances back in the 80s, she looks a lot like the lead actress of the movie Jessica Lange. In the movie she was lobotomized at the sanitarium.

She just can't catch a break. Not even in death. I read a well documented article about Francis, and she never had a Labotomy. The writer of the article said he researched her stays in the sane asylum, that there was no record of her having had a Labotomy. However, she was raped, and her mother is the one who had the problem. She couldn't stand to see her daughter succeed. I love the one with Jessica Lang.
The thing I also remember hearing about FF, is it was the medication they put her on. Mixed with alcohol, and there's going to be problems. Look at MM. They put her on drugs, too. So many have died in Hollywood from the same cases, I'm not so sure these ppl aren't being put down on purpose.
