Times Square was NOT amazing when this was filmed in the 70’s. Unless you were looking for some very specific things...you did NOT want to be anywhere around there after 6 PM. Park Avenue was still pretty ok though.
Ahhh good old grimy 70s Times Square... the real Times Square. The new Times Square is for wimps & yuppies. This is some great iconic & memorable footage.
"Just keep your shirt on!" LOL! What seems a little silly to me is that the Hulk knows the exact directions to go, block after block. What a memory from David, who's only been in the city a short time.
@MrGriffiev, Ah, the late '70s and '80s were a great time for TV shows, weren't they?? Hulk, Airwolf, Knight Rider, Dukes of Hazzard, etc. :) I remember the director's commentary on the "Married" DVD ($5 from Walmart), when they got to the "Mr. McGee, don't make me angry...", Kenneth Johnson said, "Ah...the most famous line of dialog I ever wrote, I think..." -- yeah, I would agree...like you said, it's a classic. :)
The Hulk's just realised somethings burning. He's left the oven on sky high. I told him before about that. Hulk your burning the Green Beans. Hulk: Sorry. Hahahahaha Lol 😆.
None of the music that was played throughout the entire Hulk series captures the pinnacle of the Hulk's strength and power than the music that was played while the Hulk was running through Times Square.
If they'd ever been able to do a proper finale to the series (with Banner being cured and McGee finding out he was still alive), I could imagine Banner and McGee having this dialog -- McGee -- Banner, you were right about something you once told me. Banner -- What's that, Mr. McGee? McGee -- I *DON'T* like you when you're angry!! Banner -- I tried to warn you, didn't I??
pilots final round the beast within 747 the hulk breaks las vegas never give a trucker an even break and terror in times square are terrific episodes of season 1 along with of guilt models and murder
Plus all my favourite films are set in pre-gentrified New York. Particularly the ones that featured the subway & 42nd Street. In a way the subway & the city were characters in themselves. The Warriors, Taxi Driver, Death Wish, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974), Fort Apache: The Bronx, Vigilante, The Exterminator, Nighthawks, Fear City, Ms. 45, Shakedown, Street Smart, Shaft, Superfly, Hell Up In Harlem, King Of New York, Beat Street... just to name a few. The city is too sanitized now.
I prefer New York of this time period into the 1980's. Had a certain sense of pureness about it. Now it's a big flashy bauble. Don't get me wrong, I'll always love NY, but I preferred it how it was back then.
That would have been good, too. :) I just think it would have been funny to reference Banner's comment in the premiere (which I still consider the BIGGEST understatement in the history of episodic TV): "Mr. McGee, don't make me angry. **YOU WOULDN'T LIKE ME** when I'm angry!"
@MrGriffiev, I didn't think Spidey talked all that much in the series in costume. Yeah, it might have been interesting if the Hulk had been able to talk....I remember in the TV movie "The Death of the Incredible Hulk," after he fell out of the plane, Hulk mouthed the word, "Jasmine" just before he changed back. Of course, I still say that the Hulk TV show gave us the biggest understatement in episodic TV -- "Mr. McGee, DON'T make me angry. YOU WOULDN'T LIKE ME when I'm angry!"
yo estaba en segundo básico y yo iva en la tarde una vez me dijeron se suspendende las clases y me fui rapidito a la casa y fui a ver el hombre increíble y estaba este capítulo gran recuerdo año 1984
OK Lou didn't want to run barefoot in times square but it would have been interesting that instead of those green slippers he had used the shoes he used as banner but ripped open (more or less like sandals)
I hear what you're saying, but part of NYC's character is lost because of the gentrification during the 1990s. Times Square is like Disneyland now. What happens through the gentrification process is eventually every city starts to look alike. Starbucks & Subways everywhere.NYC as it was in the 70s & 80s played an important part in pop culture, art, music & film. Check out a documentary called NY77: The Coolest Year In Hell. It's actually on RUclips.
@MrGriffiev The Hulk DID talk...but you gotta listen to him closely. In the pilot episode....JUST before the daughter's old man shot at the Hulk....the Hulk growled, "I GOT HER!!!" Again...you have to listen very closely.
The Hulk is in a rush to go the toilet. Hahahahaha Lol 😆. That's what I do when I go out. When I feel like I need to go to the bog. I run through the town. And then my shirt will get caught on something sharp. And then it will rip the shirt. And then I realise oh shit. It's too late I've pissed myself. Now I have got to get myself another shirt. Shit, anyway why is it that the underpants never rip.
When in the final TV movie "The Death of the Incredible Hulk" (which curiously was NOT intended to be The Hulk's Death) it would have been good to have McGee in there at the end....look at the dying Hulk change back into a dying Banner and then see the Penny Drop "Banner" he would say....
@MrGriffiev, Then I stand corrected, and informed. Guess I didn't watch the TV show as close as I thought I was. XD Yeah, I knew the one on the Electric Company didn't talk.
@skeaneable The Fantastic Four was probably in outer space saving the universe. :-) :-) Spider Man on the other hand....I wouldn't be surprised if he was at the laundry room when the news broke out that the Hulk is running through Manhattan....and Parker saying something in the line of "Of ALL the rotten luck!!!" :-) :-) :-)

Watching this with my Grandpa and Dad, no price I remember this!! Back to that childhood years!
Hulk was ahead of his time. Loads of cool dudes wear Green Adidas trainers now!
I've been in Times Square. Imagine seeing the Hulk running through there! :)
Best Hulk out ever of the entire TV series!!!
No
I love this episode 'cause Times Square and Park Avenue are amazing places..

the metamorphis scene in the cab is one of the best
some of my best childhood memories are watching hulk outs with my dad :)
"I've got to be there by 5"
"We're gonna be 10 minutes late so just keep your shirt on"
ROAAAR ! Lol
When lou ferrigno is hulk i feel like he is not ferrigno. He is a different person. He did AMAZING work.

Robert Nielsen Yes they were!
Inesquecível Hulk!!! Assisti todos os seriados.
I love always to admire Times Square, I feel nostalgia and full energy everytime I'm visit there. The belly button of the world....
You would not want to have been there when this was filmed in the 70’s. Times Square was a hell hole then.
Good episode. It was great the way things turned out.

So this was season 1?
@@Marcoshary Yeah
scene iconic
Yeah I agree with you, and as far as I can see this scene is in the winter so without shoes his feet could be frozen too! lol
It's a cold day because there is snow on the road. Must be cold for him and also the reason that he's running on green slippers on the road.

Bare footed & green, on his toes, (Doing the town) in the NYC!
out of all the places for a hulk out it had to be new york city.

Recuerdo este capítulo como en 1983, en televisor blanco y negro
si mas o menos al 83 al 84

Wouldn't it have been funny when the Hulk was standing in front of the "Saturday Night Fever" movie display if he did a little John Travolta dancing?

Hulk classic
Those people said the hulk was fake but there's your proff
How did the hulk know where to run to in Manhattan? It was quite far away too
This scene is better than the whole season 5.
