Great video. I had switched to paru, but had not explored the commands. I learned some things from this video that are good to know. You always have good and helpful information. Thank you so much for your efforts.
I suggest you to try pikaur, just because it's written in python so you don't need to install 500 MiB of dependencies every time the helper receive an update. Like paru, also pikaur offers the possibility to modify pkgbuild and other scripts related to the package you are going to install. I've been using it for a few months and I can say it works well. Anyway, great video!
Bat is a new improved cat. Paru actually has more than yay it is nice not to have to use pacman just to syn then install something from aur. Just paru by it's self it -Syy -Syu of all the pacman and the aur. And you can do so much more. Im so glad i came across this in my reading!
One feature of paru, that I'm missing, is the (Out-of-date) information in some packages. Try running yay hex-rays, for example, then with paru. It's not a big deal but. Thanks for the video anyway.
Another superb tutorial Ermanno, thank you! So, I installed vifm on my machine and it works, but paru keeps reporting that an unknown file manager is listed in the config file. Do I need to restart the PC for it to be correct?
i have been install vanilla arch linux. And then want to install paru and cloned from github. But when i type to console makepkg -si PKGBUILD it gives me pkgbuild does not exist. And paru wont install. i tryed without pkgbuild typing but event doesnt install again. I searched for this problem internet but every subject about compiling any software not paru installing.
yay has an option for removing dependencies after package installed but i didn't find this feature in paru after installing some package from paru i have to remove them with pacman -Qdt
Hey there. I was wondering if you could make a video on how to use #ALiS can’t find any on RUclips. github.com/picodotdev/alis also want to know if and how we can add our own list of packages for them to be installed. thanks a ton. Keep them awesome videos coming.
Even for the official repositories, you can use yay/paru.
Awesome video! Somehow you combined two of my current interests, Rust and Arch. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Glad it helped!
Thank you very much ! I switched to paru and used your tips ! Greetings from Germany ! :)
Great to hear! Liebe Grüsse :)
Looks good. I was reading about paru on the discord Arch linux server. I'll try it when I get into my laptop
Great video as always Ermanno! I will leave a suggestion for the next one: fzf with ripgrep.
Sounds good!
Very interesting feature implementation! PARU
Hermano,
Caption enabling feature, automatic translation is disabled on the video!
great video my dear friend, Could you tell me when you will continue with the gentoo distribution
Hi Jose, I have no idea yet.
If I may ask, why Gentoo?
I see you're still reading my mind... i installed it yesterday XD
I also installed it yesterday
so it was helpful to hear a video
about it
I even ran the paru -c command
while the video was playing LOL

I assume that will get eventually with time.

Never mind, you just answered the question!
This is the Best Linux channel….
can you make a video about awesomewm customization?
I eventually will, but can't give an eta yet.
Great video. Thanks for informing us about yay not being developed.
You bet!
First!
Edit: I knew about paru since yesterday morning.
I've used it for a month, works super!
great! really helped me!
Bruder, könntest du ein kurzes Video auf vim machen, wie man es benutzt, wäre für viele sehr hilfreich.

It should work with paru -c.
You installed Spotify as an example
How would you uninstall it?
Paru -R Spotify???
Exactly.
@@eflinux thank you very much!
You have helped me a lot and your videos are the best out there for arch users
Happy to help!
i noticed your started using gnome instead of kde plasma any reasons?
Not really, I am using it since a couple of months and wanted to switch to a wm, but didn't have the time yet.
Is there a replacement command for 'yay -Yc' with paru?
paru -c
It's just another helper I don't find anything different from yay tbh
My guess is we'll see more features in the future, but right now you're right.

Didn't know this script. I'll look into it.
