Felix Mendelssohn was a brilliant composer known for creating many beautiful pieces of classical music. One of his most captivating works is the String Octet in E-flat major, Op. 20, which he wrote when he was just 16 years old.
This piece features a unique combination of instruments: 4 violins, 2 violas, and 2 cellos. The result is a rich and dynamic sound that’s truly enchanting. The first movement kicks off with bright and lively melodies that instantly draw you in. The second movement offers a beautiful, heartfelt tune that resonates deeply. Then, the third movement is a playful scherzo that takes you on a whimsical journey, while the final movement bursts with energy, wrapping up the piece in a joyful and exciting way.
