Well we were lucky enough to have Peyman Parham Al Awadhi show us the ropes. And wow, what an experience that was!! Enjoy :)

That's the FIRST time EVER to see foreigners coming to the UAE and LITERALLY experiencing LOCAL food !
I always get really irritated when I see foreigners being served purely other types of food that are not really Emirati but they "think" it's Emirati because of the misguiding person whose with them...
Anyways, I'm REALLY PROUD this guy has accompanied you and he's REALLY REALLY WELL INFORMED and he SERIOUSLY KNOWS what he's talking about, like his info. is on point & VERY detailed so i'm really grateful you guys got to meet

Lee Foo Us Emiratis are only 15% of the population and since a very young age we are tought that because our country is so diverse we have a responsibility of showing and introducing our culture and being hospitable to any foriegners, this behaviour is unlike any I've seen from my community and I apologise for what you've experienced, but the behavior of a couple indivisuals should definetely not influence your thinking into all of us being "stuck up".
And saying that it was hard to find someone normal when going there once comes off as a "stupid mentality" too, don't you think?
Lee Foo, I didn't see your reply earlier. Very thankful for Dana's reply as it definitely clears out the facts. We are known to be very humble as most of us are, I've met lots of foreigners here and some asked for guidance or help. I've even showed people around, who I've never met before ! I won't lie and say all foreigners around here were perfect whether they're residents or tourists. Some were super rude and didn't even respect our culture, but would I call them and say that I'll never talk to them again or waste my time just because they were rude or whatever ? I wouldn't ! Cuz I was taught not to judge people... So I'm sorry but saying that Emiratis or whoever you saw that day have "stupid mentality" just reflects the way you think not the way they truly are ! Have you even tried to talk to Emiratis before judging them ? It's not that hard to find a kind Emirati but I'll say it is actually a bit hard to "find" an actual Emirati as we're outnumbered by other nationalities. We live in a country that has more than 200 nationalities on it's land, we are living with all these people ! We work with each other, talk to each other, study with each other, encounter each other DAILY.... do you think we'd succeed in peacefully interacting with each other if "Emirati people were the least down to earth people" and thought "I'm better than all of you, peasant" ? Do you think over 8 million people from all these nationalities would even stay in our country if Emiratis were like that ? Please use your common sense :) and by the way, not saying you "stereotyped" Emiratis, but just a kind information, not all Emiratis are rich businessmen and not all Emiratis come from rich backgrounds as it is usually widely spread among other countries. Some Emiratis are farmers, others are fishermen and many more :)

it’s so weird seeing ollie eating rice with his left hand. 🤣 malays and indians eat with our hands too, but muslims eat strictly with the right hand only. we can write, do things left handed. we can eat with fork left-handed (though not recommended), but not rice with bare left hand 🤣
The reason is cause up till recently the left hand was used to wipe ones ass so yeah you would not want to eat using that hand.
Ollie is left handed too, so I would assume it's natural for him to just go and use his left hand. This is coming from a left handed malay haha, its essentially a natural reflex.
Yeah it feels kinda weird for me too but you know what he would have uses his right hand if he knew the culture there but it is just natural response since he is left-handed and as a left-handed myself if i don't grow up eating with my right hand i would be the same as him
zara hana haha yes i know how it’s natural to favour your dominant hand. many of my family members are left-handed, and i also favour my left-hand sometimes. but yes, if it wasn’t for cultural/religious preference of using the right hand for certain things, my lefties family members would be using their left hand all the time.
Same with African cultures uses the right hand

어떤 맛 일지 궁금하네요!!
전 다양한 향신료를 사용해서 그런지 맛의 깊이와 풍미가 있어서 맛있었어요. 거기다 병아리콩등의 호무스 등 건강한식재료를 사용해서 건강에도 좋은거같구요

This is one of the best episodes you guys have done in recent times. This was SO enjoyable to watch, the curiosity and excitement was palpable. Your Emirati host was awesome.
This made me think of an idea...perhaps do an India series in the future? You could compare authentic Indian food with the British Indian food you guys are more used to eating. I think it would make an amazing series.

Omg it feels so great to see Ollie and Josh have the food with their hands because that's the way traditional Indian food is eaten too. First of all, the food looks SO Indian except for the shark dish. From the first food you guys had in India it's called Dosa it completely similar except for the fact that it's vegetarian. The other things such as the bread you guys had is so similar to Naan bread and lastly, the rice is exactly what Biriyani is in India. I genuinely hope that you guys can come visit India someday and explore the diverse food, culture and scenic beauty. Lots of Love from India! ❤️ ❤️
