Two greats:Red Sox and Gerald Ford. If only we had more politicians like him today...

Ford, interestingly enough, was an offensive lineman at the University of Michigan.
Not baseball, just a fun fact.

When he was a congressman, he played in the congressional baseball game and hit a grand slam

Well, "indyfan22k," you must be quite young. Throwing out the first pitch from the mound is a relatively recent innovation. What President Ford did (throwing from a field box) was the traditional practice for several decades, beginning with President Taft, about a hundred years ago. The older Presidents did not make fools of themselves from the mound, as at least one recent one has done.

Reagan started the tradition on the field. But only Clinton and Bush Jr. threw great pitches. Reagan and Bush Sr. didn’t reach the plate, and Obama’s first one was way off. Obama’s second pitch at the all star game was actually as good as Clinton’s, but no one wants to remember that one... lol. Side note, Carter threw a perfect strike in the 90’s after his presidency.

Warner Wolf called the game, before he became famous for saying "Let's go to the videotape"

How about Canadian Prime Ministers throwing a pitch? I heard Pierre Trudeau and Brian Mulroney did it. Why won't you show those, MLB?

I can’t find it, but I think they showed Mulroney at the 1991 All Star Game

First Munson dies....then Ford....coincidence ? I think not. If I were Johnny Bench I'd be very worried.
