Yes, the guy in the 60' Midnight Express at 0:50 stuffed the bow twice due to the captain. If you watch the other Midnight Expresses, each of them used less speed, more trim up and avoided stuffing. If you watch the Bay Harbor police in a much smaller boat, the captain there slowed all the way, as much as necessary, so that trim and throttle kept the bow high. Captain skill matters, even in a 60' boat in these extremely wavy conditions. In fact, most captains in this video did pretty good, but the one guy had the best boat but worst outcome.
@@pastorjerrykliner3162 it looks like a cushion that is supposed to be held down with velcro instead of a throwable with loop handles. A gaff would be more appropriate for retrieving the cushion, or the big guy.

The stuffing of the Midnight was totally the captain's fault. I think some of these guys don't know how to trim their motors, or even what the trim is for.
The Capt. of The Beast is very familiar with Haulover and the boats are very rough water capable. Any boat any captain can catch a wave wrong or get hit by a rogue wave.
Bow riders don’t realize that without a head supporting PFD, pr any PFD at all, if they hit their head on the way overboard, someone has to pull them out of the water without about a knits or they are dead. They think, ‘I can swim, I’ll be fine’. Not if you’ve knocked yourself out on the way in you can’t.
That midnight express seems TOTALLY safe to go offshore with when it's pearling in 2-4 seas in an inlet. Maybe don't angle the nose downward on a BOW rider that costs a gazillion $$$.
LMAO that so many of these day boats have sat coms, FLIR, and 48 mile radar. 48 mile radar with the radome 8' off the water isn't 48 mile radar. "A fool and his money are soon parted" must be the boat seller's mantra in Florida. Yep, there's quite a di*k measuring contest going on.
SO many of those 5 outboard monster boats stuff it. I think there is some design flaws as well as captain error. But some video I have seen it was gonna stuff no matter what they did
The guy in the white t-shirt and blue cap on the Grady White would annoy the crap out of me. He seems like the type of person who waits for someone else to give him instructions. If I see a mate jump in the water, I'd be at the door to render assistance just in case he needed me. And not only does he look, his response is so delayed.
why didn't the guy in the Grady pull the swim ladder out? would of been much easier to get back in, rather than looking like an injured seal tryin to get back in the boat....lol

I don’t completely agree with this, but for what they spend on the midnight expresses I could buy one hell of a fishing boat, so I’d have to say I do mostly agree with it.
A 3 engine outboard boat might be able to get on plane with 2 engines.A twin engine boat won't get on plane with 1 running engine. 4 outboards maybe on a big boat, more then 4 kind of ridiculous! A twin engine 2700 hp Outerlimits can stay on plane on 1 engine but won't get back on plane if it stops. Comes home at displacement speed on 1 engine .
Screw that. I’ll just keep riding my motorcycle. Much less expensive, no drama just start and ride, and probably safer. I get seasick just watching these entitled fools.
I really don't understand, Haulover has a film crew filming all the idiots coming nand going with their multi thousand dollar boats and they keep doing the same stupid things blasting against mother nature,,,,,,,........
This just proves that money won't buy one ounce of common sense. Either set speed limits and safety rules for operation in this inlet and enforce them or close it. Why should anyone risk his life to rescue another who values his so little.
ou’d be surprised to know that many do. And we charge $150 for both shore and drone footage. Do you know how much it costs to produce that beautiful quality you enjoy for free on your TV/phone?
Out of all the boats coming in from the ocean, only 2 did it rite and 1 of those was the police. I can't believe how dumb 99% of the boaters shown in these clips are, come to Australia to learn how to drive a boat properly. Bow riding over a bar crossing is another one.
Thanks to this channel I know that 90% of people are full stupid on the water, and also the year and home state of all major boat manufacturers.
Still amazes me how many folks bow-ride in waves...it also takes a special kind of stoopid to jump out of a boat in current over a boat cushion.
People bow ride for the same reason we used to ride in the back of pickups ... because live is too short to always be safe.
He must have REALLY liked that cushion.
The people in the bow didn't even pick up spray..the cushion was picked up by the wind

This is when a dip net comes in handy. 2:03 Followed up by a bad decision. Motors in gear.
Rescuing that cushion wasn't worth risking a heart attack trying to climb back into the boat in that seaway.
