When you were thinking of scents to emulate the idea of how Bella smells to Edward Black Opium definitely came to mind! "My own personal brand of heroin" and all that jazz... Plus the bottle is nice and aesthetic too. ;)
I feel like the dependence on cloud cover could be helped with some full-coverage foundation and body makeup (or not so full coverage, for a natural glow lol)

If you like IA cape heartache, I adore Every Storm a Serenade. It reminds me of the scene Bella goes “cliff diving.” It’s an aquatic scent, but not in a clean, tropical way. More in a deep, musky way. Reminds me more of ocean waves crashing against rocks on a cold day with spruce trees nearby.

My sister worked at Barnes and Noble and I'm pretty sure she had an advanced reader copy of Twilight. It had the iconic apple cover.
