Park Yoonha's strategy is really smart. She's singing these oldies from when the judges' were young, songs that they haven't heard for a long time, and reinterpreting them from a young girl's perspective. She's basically pulling a retro-IU image.
I think Shin Ji Hoon was overreaching at times whereas Yoon Ha knows her ability level and sings in a way that accentuates her talent. Remarkably, she hasn't even failed yet. Pretty much everyone else has made mistakes and got critiqued. She's still on a roll. This girl is incredible.
This is basically like, natural super auto-tune // perfect pitch singing and I was especially blown away by the shorter girl Kim Daon (?) because she kept her harmonies in-key. This duo was a great example of how to harmonize well between 2 people! Was great to my ears
My theory still stands: JYP comes AT LEAST 3 TIMES during any really good Kpop Star performance. And again, he didn't disappoint: 1st: 0:16 2nd: 0:53 3rd: 1:41 I think it's AMAZING how, by now (it's season 4 for god's sake!), WE ALL have come to recognize 'that face' that ONLY HIS WIFE is supposed to know about...lol
It's not about singing the old song. DEFINITELY NOT. All 5 of these girls sung out of their mind. I had chills from every single one of their voice. They were all so amazing for their age. In my mind, I was just like wow. It was tough to choose the winning team. It was easier to choose the weaker singer out of any of those 2 groups. Na Soo Hyun and the little girl. Na Soo Hyun is a great singer. The only problem. The other 2 on her team were better singers, that's all. She sung great.

IU is like the taylor swift of Korea, she's marketable due to her appearance. These girls will find it hard to make it professionally. Even though they sing just as well, and many in Korea sings way better than IU, but sigh...
Daon was off key a few places and was shaky. And she was awkward in a few transitions. Younha was perfect. Puppies should have won the group win and Younha should have gone to the next round. Daon should have been dropped.
...because these 2 junior highschool girls were able to do something no other contestants could do: LITERALLY transport those three 40 year old ajuhsees to the time of their younger, teenage years... to their teenage longings & emotions... (what YG & YHY said afterwords). And when someone's singing can do that for you, an off note here or there....just DOESN'T MATTER ANYMORE :)

I get that the show's not focused on potential ,etc, but first they should have the basics and then on top of that you look at musicality, and emotion, etc. I'm not putting down their talent but for someone to 'win' a battle they have to at least hit the note, no? If both teams hit the note then I don't have a problem with this one winning for emotion.
Amara Zen well it's not just about notes. sure they missed a note or two but you have to think of the rhythms, words, emotion, style, etc. and how they portrayed it during their performance. honestly, I was going through the other people's performances and I wasn't really interested in them but when I got to this one, I immediately paid attention to it. so maybe that's why they won. they might've missed a "significant" note, but hey, a performance is a performance and it sure was a good one.
These two won because they were better than their competition. I'm sorry to say but you're not the judge that makes the final decision. The judges wouldn't have picked them if they thought those two had zero potential. They are entrepreneurs who want to scout potential stars from this program into their company.
