Ines and Dr. Teich, hello! Very glad to have found your channel and especially pleased with your approach to bio pools in terms of no equipment!
After watching almost all of your videos I have questions bordering on conclusions. With your permission I would like to discuss them:
    1. Am I right that the greater the depth of the pool and the larger the area of the deep zone the better?
    2. The darkening has a positive effect on the water quality, why should the regeneration zone be completely covered with a terrace deck?
    3. are the drainage pipes as effective? There is enough space for water to pass between the stones. Maybe you just need to put stones of different fractions?
    4. Regeneration zone. Why limit it? I understand that it is the same as with the deep zone - the more it is the better. And it is probably better not to limit its depth too.
    5. Question about bacteria they need stones or concrete walls will not be superfluous either?
    6. What can you say about sea water? I'm going to build a pool near the sea, is it suitable? Have you experimented with it?
    7. I also want to collect stones on the seashore, do I need to wash them from salt?
In general, thank you very much for a completely new direction for me) Thank you!

Hello and thanks for your questions. Here are my answers:
      1. Yes, absolutely right!
      2. Yes, you are right about the darkening. I guess you wanted to ask: why ......... zone NOT be ......
The reason is that if you cover the reg zone you cannot maintain it any more: Remember, once a year you should do "the yearly cleaning" - that means you want to rinse all areas containing stones/gravel......
      3. drainage pipes are essential. Through them, the natural water circulation can reach up to the edge, like this you avoid getting anaerobic sections.
      4. Again you are right: the more the better. But do not plan it wider than 2m because then again, you are not able to maintain it easily. With the depth it is the same: you should always keep in mind that you want to make it easy for you to maintain it. - That also applies to the size of the swimmteich itsself!
      5. Effective bacteria/microorganisms need stone or concrete, yes. But they also need darkness to hide - the gravel section gives them the envirement they need. If you set the gravel on concrete or stone or liner does not matter.
      6. How nice - near the sea! - No sorry, noone has ever tried. If you do, pls keep us updated!
      7. hm, I am not sure. I think they should not do any harm, as long as they are just the ones for decoration.....
You are very welcome - thank you for your kind words!
      Best regards, Ines

can a cement pool be adapted to be a swimteich pool?

    • @teichswimmer6746
      @teichswimmer6746  4 месяца назад +2

Hi Sydney, a tricky question: Yes, it can be adapted but you have to make a few changes that are quite an effort and you need some space around your cement pool (to add a regeneration zone e.g.). Normally cement pools are not very deep, so that is one thing that you have to do: to find a solution for the depth....... - you can either break the floor and dig deeper in some part of the pool. Or you break one wall and "add" the deep zone.
Same thing with the regeneration zone: You have to break one side wall.
So, YES, you can, but it is some effort and needs individual planning....
      Best regards,
      Ines von Teichswimmer

How do you think this works in humid hot places with lits of mosquitoes. Qld, any sitting water just attracts mosquitoes.

    • @teichswimmer6746
      @teichswimmer6746  4 месяца назад

Hi Lara, thank you for your question, we get that very often.
Mosquitos are no problem at all. We do not have more mosquitos than before having our swimmteich. In natural water you have all those other living creatures like back-swimmers, newts and so on. They take good care of mosquito larve because they feed on them.....
And do not think that water is still and sitting just because there is no pump installed. There is always a natural water circulation.....
      Best regards,
      Ines von Teichswimmer

hello Madam, thanks for sharing, your videos are always so informative! I think I am missing something and It would be great if you could find time to answer my questions.
    (1) When you state that there are no pumps, how does the water flow through the gravel in the regeneration zone?
    (2) how do you prevent harmful bacteria so that the pool is safe for people
    (3) are there specific rules to follow by law (in Austria)? I am in Italy and I think there are are guidelines to follow (only in South Tirol) such as water analysis every week.
    (4) I am still in the decision phase. I am divided between your system or a pool with plants. In case I should decide for a system like yours, what is your expertise, I mean you sell the design, you help with start up, with material, and is there something else?
Thanks again and a big CIAO from Italy (Verona)

Hello and thanks a lot for your interest! I will try to answer your questions:
      (1) It's the natural water circulation that makes the water flow through the gravel. This natural water circulation is supported by the way of construction (round corners in the swimming zone, conic walls) and the depth (..... thermal flow....). And everything/-one that moves the water supports it as well (swimming, diving, maintaining,.....) - and, of course, the wind...
      (2) What harmful bacteria could that be? It's clean and I regularly take a sip of the water while swimming......
      (3) There are no laws for that concerning private pools. You only have regulations for public pools. I would be surprised if that were different in Italy!
      (4) I do not quite understand what you mean. We do not sell our expertise. We sell our book that helps people build. And we have a shop where we sell equipment.

But if you have detailed questions, you can also write us an email:

Thanks for the effort, but your excessively verbose description is lacking instruction in the practical construction of the pool and components! We don't need to be sold on the idea for 25 minutes, lol

Thanks for your comment - but I don't think you understand our channel - we are not selling anything. In this specific video we only answer the question of many viewers: How much does a natural pool/swimmteich cost? - So why should I explain something about construction? There are many other videos where I do. You are welcome to watch them!
