Both Sound good, the UZI has the darker tone, and the Dark Flame is brighter on my end. I think both tones are very useable. Great Video Robert.
The UZI if you want to get experimental with tonality, the Dark Flame if you want to slam.
Wow. That was interesting . I actually own the UZI , and love it. The DARK FLAME has much more punch in this comparison . I think it would be good to have both pedals after hearing that difference . Joyo has really raised the bar in the affordable pedal market. Thanks , Robert !
UPDATE: Just ordered a Dark Flame, like 30 minutes after watching this video . :)
Enjoy dude! It’s a great pedal.
its the same pedal , if you switch the dark switch on the dark flame it will be a uzi
No it’s not. They’re not the same pedal at all. The Uzi is a clone of the Friedman BE-OD, and the Dark Flame is a clone of the Revv G3.
Thank You for stressing this Robert Dude almost Made Me second guess all of it
@@breakfastbuddy5 Not the same pedal! The bias knob is everything on the Uzi, the Dark Flame doesn't have that option
Both are awesome pedals for rock/metal. The UZI seems more saturated. The DF sounds a little thinner.
🤘
Great video Robert The Dark Flame is the winner here especially for the money definitely nails the Revvv high gain tone on the cheap.
What a tone, without the "bee" sounds. I loved the clean and distorted tones 🎸👍 Great Video
First, thank you for telling me the settings you used on the JC-120 for nothing but a clean channel to really get a clear picture of the pedals (I'm thinking using the same settings to test "any" pedals for a solid comparison. Please correct me if I'm wrong?). Thank you for yet another great video and like always, please keep them coming...
I can't believe I didn't notice the Mocktail until the end of the video when it was there at the beginning!! Great visual...Relaxing with a Mocktail while making the comparison video for us. Love It!!!
To answer your impossible question: Notify science? Call the people in charge of watching over the endangered stuff in the correct departments with photographic evidence on hand? …walk away slowly? 🤷🏻
In terms of the main contents of the video, I think the Dark Flame is the winner here. Or at the very least, the one I’d grab if I had to pick only one pedal here simply for the “bright/dark” switch.
Thank you for the content, Robert. Keep on rockin’!
Def a couple of fun pedals, I would use either one of them. Great video Robert!
I've watched a few of your videos. Being torn between Uzi and Dark Flame, the search led me back to your channel. And honestly the "endangered" conundrum led me to subscribe because with that, you're obviously my tribe. In my humble opinion the best option is to harvest both the plant and the animal (as long as there aren't witnesses). As for the pedal ordeal... If it wasn't for poverty I would get both. But I'm leaning toward uzi. But I primarily play bass so may end up up entirely elsewhere during this trip.
Of course the day the UZI arrives, I start seeing their teaser ads for Hot Witch. 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
Did you change your mind?
I am thorn cause I’m buying 2; either uzi and hot witch or dark flame and hot witch.
Based on your comment and the very little reviews available for hot witch; would you be so kind as to explain why you would RATHER have hot witch than any of these?
My understanding was that hot witch was a fuzz pedal - these are distortions (so to speak, cause I know that is not the best term as it encompasses many others) so a bit different.
Am I wrong? I’d appreciate the advice (I can always try them and return one if it’s unnecessary but I had the impression that both uzi and dark flame were doing “one thing” and hot witch “doing another”…).
Thank you in advance and I hope you got what you wanted one way or the other!
First off you do a review right. Showing settings and covering the bases of the pedal.bought the uzi ..run it thru my dsl. Fixed the flubb on the bottom. Uzi sounds alot like my tsl100 I had. Thanks again.
Both are great. I'm glad I bought the dark flame
You help them both to the inevitable ending of both species. While screaming there coming right for us.
🤣🤣🤣
The video is impressive but the range is not the big problem. I have had very few problems with my last generation NUX. The real problem is interference by phones and other devices in that same 2.8 range. I have had gigs where either bad distortion or complete drop outs have happened. The new NUX uses 5.8 and is all but bullet proof. You can also put it in 'just like your guitar cord' setting. It is however $200.00 USD. That said I am impressed by the Joyo and may get one as a back up. I am sure it is equal to my older NUX I am still using and it was about $150.00 USD.
Let me leave those that get any of these a great tip. The transmitters are a total pain not fitting into many guitars properly plus they look bush league. Buy the ___AH Military grade/ pouch Flip phone belt loop holder___ About $20 or less.
Leave the transmitter folded and insert a female to female phone jack adapter. Then use a cheap 10" solid ends cheapie pedal patch cable on the other end. Pop it in the pouch and just clip it on your strap. The closer is this rig looks identical to many high end offerings yet the pouch is a higher grade than the real deal.
Should have ran them both together in parallel at the end. I bet the tone would sound monster. I do like the Dark Flame.
There is such a thing as TOO MUCH gain. LOL
In series yes. Run each pedal to it's own amp maybe not. Set the gain on each pedal to noon and EQ each pedal differently. It would be like running to totally different high gain amps with a signal splitter pedal like the JHS buffer splitter or A,B,Y pedal. I used to use the MXR KFK 10 band EQ pedal into to a JCM 800 and a Ampeg VL502. I used the pedal as a boost like Kerry did. The sound was huge. Awesome thrash metal tones.
Hmm… I really don’t know. Both sound great to me
Distorto! Good comparison vid!
Thanks, Robert!
I have the
Uzi but after hearing the Dark Flame I might get one someday.
Just get them both! LOL
@@RobertWJackson I want to but my current pedalboard is full😅
Who said there was a rule that said you can’t own more pedals that what your current pedalboard will allow? 😉
I'm glad it's paint colour is red ,
I bought one of the Joyo pedals. Like it
Thanks Robert!
Good demo/comparison!
I like the Uzi better. (I own it)
I had interest in the DarkFlame but I think I'll pass on it.
It's got some scratchiness in the highs that I don't like.
Almost makes me think of a Vox AC with the wrong distortion pedal in front of it 🤔
JUST FYI: The Uzi actually sounds similar to the AmpTweaker TightRock (depending on the settings of both) but I guess that's to be expected since they're both Marshally type pedals anyways.
FYI - I uploaded a little comparison video of the TightRock and TightMetal pedals on my "channel" (lol)
should check it out!
And sorry in advance for the cellphone quality recording 😄
The Dark Flame wins in my view. Louder sound quality.
its louder and more spicky i guess you can get them to sound the same with a little adjustment
Somes said the UZI is Friedman BE-OD clone, which is not. Is the Dark Flame a clone of the REVV G3 or the G4? Or are the same folks who said so?
k
I love that at the county fair they have cotton candy every year.
Nice video which do you recommend if I’m a rat ds1 guy?
Probably the Uzi. It’s a little closer to that flavor. The Dark Flame is much more modern sounding.
The red one all the way
If you have a squirt bottle available. Otherwise, charge at it screaming. 🤣
Which one do you recommend for thrash metal?
Both!
I Have Both! Thank You Robert, they are Both Awesome. Uzi and Darkflame. You should do another DemonFx on the R3 and R4 please maybe? Love Your content! Thanks Man
UZI is a friedman, DarkFlame is Revv G3
Isn't the dark flame a revvG4clone? Has joyo made a diezel clone yet
Sure.
Wazzup Robert
How dare you… now i will not sleep with the dilema - whom to save?! Especially nowadays when scientists have confirmed that plants scream at super high frequencies when in danger to alert nearby plants of any possible plantmaggedon (not even a joke…).
Hahahaha nice humor 🤣
Flame all the way🎸🎸🎸
I run both with a DemonFx Ts clone 808 ts9 these than eq into Mooer Radar IR . Into anything I want! More DEmonFx videos!! 33 and exotic boost! I want it, and the Andy Timmons just for presence lol!
Hello RGD, where would I put an attenuator within my pedal order? (Amp, tb, ts, blues d, wah, guitar.) thanks.
An attenuator doesn’t go in the pedal chain. It goes between the amp’s speaker output and the speaker’s input.
@@RobertWJackson thank you.
@@RobertWJackson I think you just saved him a 500$ repair bill lol
I bought em' both along with demonfx freedman be od.
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
which is your favorite?
@@getonitguitars6908I choose the demonfx freedman. Warmth and gain is the game. It stays on my board.
which of them is more versatile?
Both!
Right! Which then is more practical?!
Neither!
Both sounded harsh to me
k
VIDEO DE GRAN AYUDA.
YA QUE LA PROBASTE ENTRE UNA DISTORSIÓN MAS VERSÁTIL CUAL DE LAS 2 ME RECOMENDAS? YA QUE QUIERO ADQUIRIR UN PEDAL.👌🤠
¿Hablas inglés, por favor?
@@RobertWJackson “video was of great help, since you tried both pedals, which one do you consider more versatile? I want to get a distortion pedal.”
Definitely the Uzi. But the Dark Flame is the heavier sounding pedal.
UZI…
Shoo it away
Is the joyo uzi analog or digital?
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I'd open mine and check it out inside. It's a real analog pedal! 🤘🎸
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
First👍🏿
I think the JC 120 was one of the worst amps to use on this demo

Tune your guitar properly first .
