Eventually Retroid will have to succumb no making a large ergonomic device. I handed the Flip with the grip to a family member and although it was better for his hands, it kept slipping off.
Tbh I'll wait for the next Retroid/Anbernic model I find pretty much "flawless". For the higher price I demand "no issues". I imagine something like Pocket 4 or better version of 405M. For now, RG353PS will do.
at 6:47 you mention it's tough to reach the analogue stick of the Flip using the grip. I am wondering: is it because you have normal size hands? For someone who has bigger/longer hands, that could actually be a good thing - because if someone has longer thumb, he can reach it better. Does that make sense? Thanks. Great video by the way. I am trying to decide wich one to get, and I have relatively bigger hands than most people (not huge hands, just slim/long hands)
If I find PSP 3000 as rather alright to play retro games, then will I really need a grip for RP3+? I heard a lot of people complaining about its ergonomics, but frankly, it doesn't look as something that would be worse in terms of comfort than PSP.
@@retrohandhelds Thank you for your response! Good to hear. :) For circa 1h or 2h long gaming sessions I found PSP 3000 as alright when it came to play games with using only the D-pad. Slider was ehh... was bad, haha. Both in using it in games and in terms of comfortability.
man i cant make my mind up i know i want a game boy style one. so im gonna go with the rg353v. i cant make my mind up do i get the 3 plus or the flip or a odin pro. i only want to be able to play up to ps2 and gamecube doesnt have to run super smooth but ya please help lol
The trouble is that a lot of these smaller handhelds appear to struggle with PS2 to some degree. The Android based PS2 emulator Aethersx2 development went totally off the rails, so it might take quite a while to get good PS2 in such a small form factor.
Hey that watermelon rp2+ looks familiar lol. I gotta say having the flip and the 3+, I do actually prefer the 3+ (especially with the dome facebuttons and hall sticks) also I 100% agree with the rp3/Odin dpad being the goat
Which is your favorite Retroid Pocket for ergonomics?

Ah dang, I've run into this before. Hoping do get an XXL option sometime 😛
They are not going to compete with Ayn.
@@Ruslan.88266 they already are
Can’t wait for a more powerful / more refined retroid flip
Hoping for a 3588 variant!
RP3 plus all day. Boo to the sliders
Ah man, see I particularly enjoy the sliders, although nothing beats a real joystick.
They fit all in our hands ..just make a choice in taste of retro nostalgic...dont waste your time
Can't afford the Flip or I'd definitely get one. Still play my RP2 all the time

3+ will be wider than a 3000 I believe, and I wouldn't say the grip is required no, just for my hands, adds comfort for longer play sessions.

I'd go for the Odin if you want consistent PS2 performance across the board 💪

i like the clam shell design
rp2+ was my introduction to retro handhelds, I'll always have a soft spot for it

Haha, the very same!! For the Flip, yeah I can see that, just wish the 3+ was a bit easier on my hands for longer sessions.
@@retrohandhelds yeah agreed. I don't play it for too long though as it's become my out and about handheld so it's not too much of an issue with me.
Retroid pocket 2 plus is god tier retro goodness.
Just like Pokemon, gotta get them all!
My 16bit flip is coming this tuesday!! Been waiting since March 17...
how are you enjoying the retroid flip now 6 months later?
