    Hey, this looks like super cool stuff, definitely a nice tutorial on how to get started. though looking at the real 737 aircraft, the cockpit windows are not simply cutouts of the body, but they are flat planes with no curvature in the glass. would you have any idea how one could get that detail right?

    • @TEXDesignEngineering
      @TEXDesignEngineering  2 года назад

      Hey Stratos2! So you could try to cut that area out using the method I showed here, but not use the bodies that were cut. Instead, you could create a new plane at an angle around the cockpit area and sketch it around that plane. Does that make sense? Feel free to ask further if you need help!

    I just spent an hour trying to figure out why I am unable to create the fillets in the front windows. You skipped over it at about 14:20. But I can't create the fillets on any of them, not just the bottom two like you. It's only frustrating that I can't fix the problem, though I suppose I can just skip it for now like you did. If you figure it out, please let me know. I have really loved this tutorial as well as the Mercedes S modeling!

    Thank you for sharing, that series is exactly what I was looking for and it's amazing! The only question for this chapter, as you may know, sometime the side windows of a real airplane might distribute differently on left and right side, and then direct using the split tool (apply the same distribution on both side) might fail to perform this differentiation, is there any way to make this type of details? Appreciated!

    • @TEXDesignEngineering
      @TEXDesignEngineering  3 года назад

      Hi Duan, thanks for your comment!
      It is definitely possible to apply a different cut on either sides. The first thing that comes to mind is to split the fuselage body half, about the symmetry plane. When the fuselage is split as a (LEFT FUSELAGE) + (RIGHT FUSELAGE), you could split them separately :)
      Let me know if that helps!

    • @TEXDesignEngineering
      @TEXDesignEngineering  3 года назад

      Hi Ayush, thanks so much for your kind comments. I guess each model will have its own way of being created. For making cars, I usually use surface modelling. I have received a lot of requests for this but need some more time and resources to make the videos properly! I’m having trouble with the first step. It will not let me place the bodies in the new component, and neither can I make them all components and put them in.

    • @TEXDesignEngineering

      I'm not sure why that happens sometimes. Next time, create a new component from the start and add the bodies to them :)

    Hey I am stuck on creating the cockpit detailing in your 5th episode of How to build an aircraft Tutorial 5. When I finish the sketch and select split bodies I then select the fuselage main body as the body to split and the sketch as the splitting tool and hit ok. The following error appears “no intersection between target and split tool”.
    This error doesn't occur with other shapes in the same area.

    • @TEXDesignEngineering
      @TEXDesignEngineering  3 года назад

      Hi Jean, that's an interesting problem! Which part of the cockpit is causing you problems?
      You could try a couple of things -
      1) Try ticking/unticking "extend splitting tool" when splitting the bodies
      2) Make sure you draw the sketch so that it overlaps the bodies you're trying to split.
      3) Make sure you're splitting the bodies ONE BY ONE. It's a little more time consuming but definitely worth it to ensure everything works properly!

      Hey! That probably means that your sketch has some pieces that are intersecting into each other. Try and look for any elements in the sketch that are too complicated, and try the split again :) Let me know if that works.

    Why do we convert canvas to a component

    • @TEXDesignEngineering
      @TEXDesignEngineering  3 года назад

      @@selim9220 Oh I see! Yes, so the way Fusion works is that when you activate a component, everything outside the component will become transparent. Since we placed the blueprints in the main tree, it becomes more transparent when we are inside an activated component. If this a problem for you, you can either make the bodies in the main tree, and then move the bodies to the component later. Second option is to have the blueprints INSIDE each component, but that would require you to set the blueprints again and again, and that could make you lose accuracy.
      Hope that makes sense? Let me know if you need more clarification :)
