Amb. Danding Cojuangco was a true die-hard Lasallian who generously provided for the development of his beloved De La Salle University. He provided thousands of academic scholarships for promising but financially handicapped Lasallian students. He invested in the faculty development of thousands of Lasallian Educators for their Masters and Doctorate studies. He provided a first class retirement home for his beloved Christian Brothers of the De La Salle schools located at the huge sprawling campus grounds of DLSU-D in Dasmarinas, Cavite. He generously financed the Saint Jean-Baptiste de La Salle Church for the De La Salle Christian Brothers of DLSU-D. Amb. Danding has always generously provided financial assistance to all of the 16 Lasallian campuses in the Philippines for decades.
Many of the projects and businesses being pursued by Mr. Ramon Ang that are geared towards nation building are the same as those dreamed of by Danding Cojuangco.
I had the privilege of having been invited by the Great Man for breakfast in his home were I personally heard him discuss his dreams of seeing the Philippines become an industialized, prosperous and modern Country. His explanation on how it could be achieved matches what Mr Ang is doing right now-using the resources of the SMC group and allied companies to undertake projects and set up businesses that significantly impact the national economy and uplift the lives of Filipinos.
