Aww, the giant that is Andy! The ease with which he plays complex guitar chords is amazing. In my humble opinion, I think that his versatile talent, his superb technique, and his inner strength is what facilitated The Police to become who they are, and helped Sting & Stewart to blossom. A fabulous guitarist and his solo work is superb.

Definitely one of the best guitarists ever! Plus he’s a really interesting person, and very polite and pleasant.

My suggestion for the next Andy Summer's record would be a totally acoustic instrument one. The Andy Summer's quintet with bass, drums, piano, acoustic guitar and a great female singer!!!!! A jazz, pop, rock, old big band mix!!! Great interview. Very interesting to hear Andy talk about his creative process. VEry inspiring!! Thanks for this and letting Andy speak his mind with asking great questions and listening unlike the main strea media does!!!!

Though I certainly don't sound like him, Summers was an early influence. Ghost In The Machine was one of the first records I bought with my own money. Here is me explaining how to play the solo from Mother: ruclips.net/video/dow9M2tSsoI/видео.html

I don't sound like him either but his approach showed me one way my jazz influences could be incorporated into pop music.
