Gonna miss you guys. The Dukes brought the FCS up and all our matchups were awesome... but I won't miss all these close games. They've taken 5 years off my life each.
I'm a cane fan #1 it's all about that U, anyways I been watching north Dakota state for awhile now since Wentz, glad to see them make it into the FBS but, the Sunbelt conference, I think they deserve more competitive opponents like the AAC or the mid conference, just my opinion anyway, congratulations, welcome to the big boy league, wish y'all well, p.s. I will be watching. "Go Canes"

NDSU beats Georgia Southern 3 times in a row...Georgia Southern moves up to the FBS because they know their time is done
NDSU beats Coastal Carolina 2 times in a row...Coastal Carolina moves up to the FBS because they know their time is done

NDSU is, at *worst*, a mid-level Group of 5 FBS team. Hell, they might be a mid-level Power 5 conference team. I'd love to see them move up because they would wreck some big-name teams, but geography is not their friend. At least at JMU being in Virginia, the Sun Belt East is a natural fit for us and lets us renew some of our older FCS/I-AA rivalries like App State. I honestly think NDSU would be a complete terror in the Mountain West, which is why the Mountain West probably doesn't want them. Y'all have built something really special in Fargo.

NDSU is a Power 5 team for sure. They already proved it over and over by beating Kansas State, Iowa State, #13/14 Iowa, Minnesota etc...
But here's something not many ppl know...
Back when Minnesota won 3 straight National championships, NDSU was a D2 team and played Minnesota. NDSU was the ONLY team to score on Minnesota that year.
Then the father of the forward pass was coach at NDSU around the time he invented the forward pass.
Then an NDSU QB broke Walter Payton's college career rushing TD record.
Then the year of or year after announcing that they were going to move up to the FCS from D2, they scheduled a road game against the #3 FCS team in the country (Montana) while still having a full D2 roster and full D2 schedule still. NDSU beat Montana by 1 point.
Then in 2006 (just 2 years into the FCS while they were still ineligible for the FCS playoffs (because they had a 5 year probation period of playoff ineligibility from when they moved up), NDSU went into Central Michigan who was the 2x defending MAC Champs and beat them 44-14...later that year Central Michigan won the MAC again for their 3rd straight season lol. NDSU went on to be ranked #1 in the FCS in 2006 but couldn't even compete for a title. NDSU also lost to Minnesota by 1 point on a blocked field goal as time expired.
Then in 2007 NDSU took 30,000+ fans into Minneapolis and beat the Gophers and were ranked #1 in the FCS again but couldn't even compete for a title again.
In 2010 NDSU beat Kansas holding them to 3 points. This was NDSU's 1st year of playoff eligibility. Though NDSU was 9-5, they made the playoffs and beat the shit out of their 1st few opponents all the way to the game before the title game. A ref blew a call in OT and then the call was reviewed and clear as day...and stayed with the call on the field...this pissed NDSU off and fueled their run of 9 Natty appearances in 11 seasons and 11 straight quarter final appearances.
NDSU has had 3 losing seasons in the last 57 years I believe. NDSU has also won over 30 conference titles and total of 16 National Titles
NDSU will eventually move up and when they do, expect them to compete for Nattys again.

They would get routed by Texas A&M, Ole miss etc… let alone have to compete with Georgia and Bama. If NDSU moves up, they would need an FBS conference to give them an invite 1st.
There is a rumor that they might need a bigger stadium since they can't really add many seats to the current one.
And NDSU has a tradition of championships, not bowl games that no one cares about. So in order to win championships at the FBS level, the playoffs would have to expand to no less than 16 teams if NDSU goes into a G5 conference. And in order to get a Power 5 invite (Where NDSU belongs), they would need a much bigger media market. So basically it's G5 or FCS and G5 basically needs a mythical season just to make the top 4. Not worth it.
So it's FCS. And if no one can beat them, then tough

Again, just a thought. There should have been a roughing the passer penalty "The Interception" (9.07.). You can bet the crowd reaction had something to do with the "No Call". Watch Johnson's reaction. He hams it up by lying there prone, but he knew there should have been a flag. Frisco?: Flag.
Watch, right when I buy a 2nd house in Frisco to stay at for NDSU going back to Frisco almost every year...that's the year they will move up to the FBS too and I'll be stuck with a house in Frisco lol

James Madison’s QB played terrible. Lots of missed throws and bad reads. And really cost them at the end of the game too.

Well, they'll have the largest athletic budget coming into the SBC (which is rare), all they need is the recruiting to add on to that.
They'll do well.
They will do fine. Appalachian state, coastal Carolina, and UL Lafayette are the teams to beat in the SB and i think james Madison can compete right away with those teams.
Probably tough the first year or two, then competitive. If schools like Coastal Carolina and App State can be bowl contenders a few years after making the move, no reason why JMU can't.

Thats the main difference, raw traits are always going to look better at the FBS level, especially speed.
NDSU has beaten almost all the FBS teams they have played including top 20 teams at time Kansas state, Iowa snd Iowa State and having a hard time finding a FBS team to play them and Minnesota said they won’t play them anymore since can’t beat NDSU
Again, the DSUs should've been invited to either the MAC or the Mountain West.
Idk how the school admins are not seeing the bigger picture here. They have the 15k seating and the brand, just not the ambition.

Ya it doesnt have much to do with ndsu not "joining" a FBS conference because they cant simply join. They gotta be invited and they dont have the money or the stadium requirements to jump up, which is stupid because the fargo dome seats over 15,000 and most games in the MAC, SUN BELT, CUSA dont reach 15,000 people in the stands for their games anyway so not sure why seating is a problem.

When was the last time Wake Forest had the second tech or the third pick in NFL draft. Your experience doesn’t seem to reflect the experience of the commentators. I never liked anything I couldn’t afford, could not compete against, or win against either.😂😂

Ndsu beat a Iowa team in 2016 who beat the 3rd best team in the country at the fbs level, Michigan. I’m die hard Michigan fan, so I have a lot of respect for ndsu. Keep up the great work, you guys are a great program
