Stephen Truman the whole "spot" is basically any dead end with tall grass. Gear never spawns there so not a single person will ever try to look for loot there. The point is simply dropping it where no one could find it as his items were insured. Devil kept uninsured items, remember? Likewise if we had a way to throw bags manually, he would have just dropped all items into the water. There is no "secret spot for hiding", just a little tip for you, guys.
hey Devildog what recording software and settings do you use for escape from tarkov? ive tried OBS and Xsplit neither will work, my game runs fine but obs it wouldn't show up at all, and xsplit its at like 10 frames, it records fine with other games

I already know the maps I play pretty good, but ai sometimes just turns overkill and while you are in a firefight, a hatchling runs up to you from behind and onehits you which is really annoying to me
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart I believe body armor helps a bit. One guy in full battle rattle took three hatchet hits and killed me. As for hatchet cheekis it's all about situational awareness. It's hard sometimes while in a gunfight but that's why they are called sneaky :/

They are supposed to be around like furniture and other simple objects, not as obstacle you cant go through.. This game should be PVP, not "run from terminator scavs and kill player if you have a chance to live that long" type of game..
KuvDabGib he has a point the game is in Tarkov or whatever and there is anarchy so I'd say at least 75% of the scavs will be untrained civilians trying to survive they should be a little harder but not so hard it's a run from terminator scabs 24/7

Sam Lewis you can be the lone survivor, but a ridiculous amount of people love hiding near exits for 15-20 minutes to sometimes ever 40 just to try to get the extraction kill. It barely ever works on me but i'm not certain how often people do it.
How have you been able to play this game? At least with minimal gear, just pistol/tomahawk. I bought this game a week ago and I've made home 4-5 times total. Only successful one was when I went in as a scav and got ak.. Other times i just get one tapped by scavs or I get fullsprayed by scavs.. Or I get hunted down by parties of 3.. :S

read the forums, lots of issues. The ting is youtubers only upload nice matches, 0 insta deaths on spawn, AI shooting them trough bushes etc. Do your research before you invest in this game, its not newbie friendly, only after a good 120-200 hours of gameplay will get "enjoyable" no learning curve at all.
John Doe I bought the standard and I am absolutely loving this game. The recent patch tried to fix the Aim-Bots also but as seen there are still issues. The learning is kind of steep if you aren't used to this type of game. I suggest watching a video on how to get a few useful keys and where the exits are. I had fun for hours just doing hatchet runs murdering scavs and dying, slowly building my stash XD. This game isn't for everyone but I play with two buddies and we have a blast most of the time
getting Edge of Darkness edition. Been a fan of sim shooters. Got bored of arma 3 now, looks like fun but like everything else, its not a perfect game.

oomerimunni if you insure something and die, it will be given back to you only if it isn't taken with a pmc or scav out of the raid. So, say you die, a player runs up and takes your insured rifle, but ends up getting killed by someone else. If the person who took your rifle doesn't get looted you should get your stuff back. If someone takes your stuff back to their stash though, you lose it.
jim hugh not true, its a good idea to stick around the middle of the map to farm scavs, if you die chances are it will be by scav, i get my stuff back all the time
i insure my m4 and sks's, so when fights like this happens, and i know im bout to die, i just run off and drop everything in a bush and run back towards my assailants to kill me but when they come to loot me, i dont got shit! ahahah works everytime and i get all my good stuff back cuz they'll never find it.

I too was having a shit time until I found a dude who wanted to discord and ended up playing with him and a 3 others for factory runs and we legit owned the map and it brought me way up in loot. Solo play is incredibly frustrating and difficult ALOT of the time
I find team play harder because by the time you've figured out if someone in front of you is a teammate or an enemy you're dead. I play with a friend, it's so bad, solo is way easier.
It being in beta is no excuse. We paid good money, so we should be able to play. I have never once seen a game that i cant play due to lack of servers. Even games in early access with far less support than Tarkov. This unacceptable. I paid good money for a product that i cant even play except for early in the morning. As for learning the maps, yes, map knowledge is important in any shooter. But giving me ZERO indication of where i need to go, on top of the fact that there are TONS of checkpoints and doors on the edge of the map that look like exits, is pointlessly obtuse and confusing. I can imagine alot of players getting great loot, but losing it because they had no idea where to go to extract. When the entire point of the game is to ESCAPE from Tarkov, but they shroud the exit in complete secrecy until you find it, goes against the purpose of the game. Some sort of indicator should be present. They could just tell you when you spawn the vague direction it's in (north, south, east, west, northwest, southeast, etc). That would keep it very skill-based and reliant on map knowledge, but allow new players a chance. The game is fantastic, but it treats new players horribly.

That "secret" lil' spot is one of my go-to's. If you move further in, there is a box that occasionally spawns half-decent loot.

Scavs are now within limits.. i like it.. this is finally PVP with PVE marginal components as detail. This is how it should be imho.

I'd say 60-70% of my factory stuff gets returned to me after I die....
