YouTube Creator Journey with 25 Subscribers(I got 3 Sponsors)

So, you just started your RUclips journey.
You upload your first video, second video, third video.
Watch in amazement as the views start coming in.
It’s all exciting at the very beginning.
Until,
It isn’t.
You realize you aren’t making any money. 4,000 watch hours. Wow, you are nowhere near that amount, you may have 50, 100 watch hours, maybe even a thousand but it seems like so much extra work to make it into the RUclips Partner Program.

I don’t care about the partner program.
There, I said it and I mean it.
I started my channel with the idea of promoting other people’s products.

Not quite.
You see before I make a video, I think about a topic that I want to talk about. I then think about a product I can promote that could help the audience I am talking to. I sign up for the affiliate program of that product and leave a link in the description.
This is affiliate marketing. It can earn you a lot of money but generally, you need a lot of content/views to make it work(Not always).
But the real money comes from getting sponsored.
I got 3 sponsors last month.
Even though my channel had only 25 subscribers.
How do I do that?

I still have about 10 unedited videos 📹 because all the content creators I watched talked about how stressful the editing process was. So, I got totally discouraged. Plus I was my 6 year into the PhD program. Not to mentioned, I am a full-time government contractor.
I graduated 🎓 my 10 year program recently. For the past 2 weeks, I have been doing extensive watching of different RUclipsrs. My strategy for the week is to make 10 short videos to practice looking into the lense on my Samsung Galaxy s23. I have order a recommended inexpensive cordless microphone and lighting. I have already made 6 shorts using natural lighting. Today is Tuesday , and I have already make 6 shorts.
I have been doing presentations as a part of my job for years. But, sneaking to a camera is different. I am going to keep plugging away.

Hey Lorna, Well done on making the shorts! The editing is getting easier with AI, use a silence detection and it cuts down the editing time massively.
There is no need for fancy editing right now. People are engaging more and more with videos that are just people talking. RUclips is a break for them and they just want to watch someone talk about something that interests them.
Thanks for the well wishes. I am planning on going hard in July and then taking a break in August!
