Great video Richard.Really impressed with the low loader and looking forward to seeing the workshop extension.Good to see machinery being repaired for the coming season.Cattle look well and noghts are starting to pull out now.
Scammell Scarab, all them railway depots had em. I see BPI auctions have some of Malpas’s stuff at the end of Feb and it’s down as YO42 Pocklington near you somewhere
Just a biggish piece of C section to sit over the shiny part of the ram with a pin or two underneath. Just like tan stops for trailers and loaders. Cheers rich
Reference the workshop extension. Long and thin means jobs at the front obstruct jobs at the back and the back becomes a dumping ground or everything has to be moved in front to remove finished jobs at the back. Far better to build a bay on the side to double the area with double the access and no issues with obstructing other projects. Maybe even a centre wall with access doors
As l alluded to before.. The Opico... with the fleet of tractors available... Cut it down to 3 metres or... You won't be bothered with it on and off a trailer...3 metres wide on twin wheel 75/85 hp.. A dam good tool.. Get in there straight after the combine... A possible job for your Lady wife...me thinks she can handle a tractor as well thee lad... 😊😊
I’ve often thought of using the front axle off a wagon on a drop down trailer, could steer it with the spools. We have outdoor mugs, they never come inside and vice versa.
Hell Richard, the Driffield Dove Farms fanclub has been giving me gip all is week, is there a video she says every night. Trailer looks well, you do know bigger the shed the more stuff you put in it.😅😅.
I reckon your low loader will flex at its rear, we have a 4 ton Triffit low loader, ram at rear wouldnt lift a 4m power harrow up until I fitted a larger ram, the rear tended to flex though, we also have a Bailey low loader, numbest tower you could ever find, tbh both were crap, 15mph was its absalutely max for Bailey any faster you got shuck out of tractor seat! Both low loaders gave you a shite ride, Bailey being the worst, over engineered. We had same problem turning a corner as you, I found it much better not putting it on the hook, but in the jaw of flat bar & extending to its maximum.

Decent trailer

Yes 5 miles Down the road we wonderd who’s stuff it was some is 2 years old and never been used 🧐
I used to drive a 3 wheeler Scammel back in the 60’s the gear stick was on the right hand side between the drivers seat and door.

I use the wireless magnetic Connix type lights for my low loader, nice & easy 👍
Good stuff again team. Good to see home based manufacturing in full action.

Give Nic Her Due , she can handle a tractor
Easiest is to just tow low loader and drill about with another tractor great video once again 👍
Hi Richard mate of mine but a front axel of a wagon put a pipe to spool valve for tight turning and put it on straight drawbar
Great video as usual roll on better weather 😊
Scammell scarab could turn on a sixpence. Grwat video again Richard

I think that the low loader would benefit from a rear steering axle off a lorry
That’s a big job 😁
Hi Richard the best i have done was a massey 30 drill down the road above 16 foot wide no room for cyclists 😂😂😂
my dad use to drive a scammel cosder with a cattle box for Albert hall he use to collect calves from Chippenham to Strensall other side of york
Low loader Definitely needs mudguards
Can never have to much shed space for storage or working in
