Hi Mike. I'd like to ask you a question if I may, because I feel you definitely know your stuff. My Q*BERT is stuck on the Gottlieb screen. I did a hard reset by sticking a pin in the little hole next to the volume control yet the problem still persists. I normally leave the machine running at all times. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but today there was a power failure in my area that lasted about 5 minutes. Could that be a factor due to the improper shutdown? My other New Wave games which also run 24/7 (Missile Command, 1942, and Dragons Lair) were not affected. Could you maybe point me in the right direction in terms of fixing this myself so I don't have to go through the NWT ticket process? Thank you in advance for any response you might have for me.
Hi Rob. Well you can try to re-flash the image by doing the firmware update that I am talking about in my video. Follow the instructions on there site, and have a flash drive. Q*BERT will boot from the USB flash drive then reload the software. I don't think the power outage had anything to do with it because the battery would take over powering the unit after the outage. If you do have to contact NWT they are very good in getting back to you. Hope you get it fixed soon. Feel free to keep me posted with the outcome. Thank you for the ? Take care... ;-)
