- A lot of people avoid starting difficult things because they're intimidated or feel like they can't do it. Here I share with you what I think is the best way to start in game development.

Basically, if you want to learn how to make games -- make games.
If you want to learn programming -- start programming.
It's all about theory and practice. The last one is more valuable, because we are not scientists or specialists. And we shouldn't be.
Leave all triple A stuff and engine development to someone else and enjoy yourself. Express yourself.
I skipped the simple 2d games step as I didn’t want to learn Unity and then unreal and I knew I wanted to use GAS. So now I am in the process of creating an online co op game with mmo-like (RS3 inspired) combat with the gameplay ability system. It’s a bit much for a first project honestly, especially the multiplayer aspects but I’m stubborn and there are a ton of resources to help.
Excellent advice, I feel tutorials are weird because there is nothing wrong with implementing them here and there but as long as they serve your project and you aren't wholesale copying them. I always recommend pong as a great beginner project.
Thanks! Yeah the best way to learn is really to just do. Tutorials only take you so far
Fantastic video. I especially love that you ended with saying that game dev can be a hobby. I think so many people get stuck with the mindset that if it isn't profitable then it isn't valuable.
Thank you!! Those are words I literally wish I heard myself 5 years ago lol thats why I said it. More people need to just be ok with doing it as a hobby
Thanks for telling truth. I couldn't have said it better myself.
2:15 nothing has spoken to me on a deep level this week like that right here
Was just generally interested in the video (I am not going to make a game) but I feel like this advice is applicable to a lot of creative hobbies/careers, especially about courses
Yeah it really does apply to anything creative haha. I was thinking that as well when I was scripting. Just the nature of creating
Ok i love this channel 🔥
Nice work, good humor too!
Thank you! Been experimenting with it a bit haha
Some great tips here, nice one!
realistic advice! And a well done video.
Nice video! Really underrated :)
Great video!
LoL i think that every engine where if u say something negative about it they go off. but that line had me laughing.
Lol yeah some Engine communities are pretty protective about their baby lmao
A quick start guide is better for game development
Definitely need more dolphins
what do you have against dolphins 😂😂😂😂
They always look like they're smiling 😂
fire video!, omw to make a dolphin-themed turn based mmorpg as for feedback, try to limit the body pillow jokes to adult characters
Yeah I agree, was debating on the joke for an entire night and decided to go with it. Not my best humor
