You have to wonder why they were abandoned like that and not resold. The orphanage building doesn't look like it's in to bad of shape either they could have turned it into something else. It's cool to see abandoned places but also a damn shame to see buildings left and forgotten about.
I've seen other small communities where they had to move,a bunch of abandoned houses. I think the government made them move. I think it was on paranormal quest or something like that. Not sure of PQ being the name.
The state rarely sells land. It's easier to sell land than it is to aquire it, so if they have something. They'll hang onto it and let it rot before selling occurs. They don't care because in the end we the people are the ones that will eventually pay for cleanup or repurpose anyway.
I have lived across the river in Uncasville my whole life. Right off of Route 32 near the 2 gas stations, Shantock package store and Shantock Motors. My brother was a firefighter for Mohegan fire company. He had to become a certified diver because of the people that would escape from there and try to dive off the bridge. It was scary when you really thought about it, but as a kid it was just the norm to us. Thankfully no escapees tried to do anything violent in the area. It’s sad to see the conditions they lived in and the way the buildings are now.
All I could think of when you walked through the Orphanage were children, looking out the window at the houses, the families, the kids riding bikes and playing and wishing it was them out there.. Great tour, just so sad thinking of those kids.
I have been there when it was open, I had to speak at an AA meeting there, after it was closed, I helped Gemma Moran to give out food for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Gemma was a wonderful human. Driving in there after it was closed it was creepy, I swear I saw a face in the window in the building on the left. Sad that it closed, as many people were there. The architecture was beautiful .
Thank you Jason for sharing love your 360 videos makes us feel like we are there with you. The blood thing is kinda scary as you say it's fresh. Too bad people destroy history. Kinda errie that the whole town vanished. Maybe air being toxic or something of that nature. But wow very awesome. Thank you again God bless
The one I heard @15:54 ,it sounded to me like I HEAR YOU.Is that the same one you heard?would you mind putting a timeline?I'd love to hear it if it's not the one i heard.thank u
I bet those houses are timber under all that siding. There’s a beauty about those old hospital area. The buildings have stood the test of time and still standing strong.
Ty for the historic tour of this part of norwich state hospital...hang on to your videos...i hear it soon will be gone. Much respect to you both...hugs Cat from Ct.❤❤😊😊😊😊🤗🤗🤗
Is Ghost Hunters going to have more seasons? Many more, I hope. I love you all and the way you do your investigating. Very professional. I've been watching since the very first episode. I miss y'all!! Please tell me that you're just taking a break and will be back very soon. Love to the entire crew! And it's great that you're children are involved as well. 💕
Much as I love the GH tv show, it’s not really necessary with Jason posting these investigations on YT. I do miss Steve and Tango, though. Maybe they’ll come along someday.
Just yesterday I watched the 3 hour investigation of Norwich hospital with The Paranormal Files and now I see that Jason already been here. More content for me!
My friend used to live close by many years and we would walk his dogs through the property, before they it was patrolled by security. Such a cool and creepy place, especially how all the homes were situated!
There were so many interesting facts about the NSH. At one point they had a large farming area to raise all their own vegetables, and some of their meat for the meals. There are also some unmarked cemetery areas, with questionable histories as to why they are there and unmarked.
The most exciting thing for me when I'm watching this in 360 mode Jason and Jim,is I can watch your backs as you walk forward, and you never know what could be lurking behind you .
Ok so the 360 idea is super freaking cool. I love this idea for full investigations. Now you can rewind and change camera view and prove it wasn't someone off camera, in addition to letting people review footage behind you while you're investigating. WHY DID NO ONE DO THIS SOONER?! DISCOVERY+ WOULD LOSE SUBSCRIBERS!!!! all we wanted was new paranormal shows and they dropped the ball! You guys are on top of it for sure!!!
Yeah, that’s why I’m loving these 360’s for just the reason you said. In this medium you have the time to really explore and appreciate the area and it’s history. We get urban exploration and a ghost hunt all in the same show, I love it.
I used to live in CT and worked at Southbury Training Schiol. I know that part of STS is not used any longer. Last I knew part of it was housing residents. Would love to see you explore that site as well. Also Fairfield Hills Hospital is not used as a hospital ant longer and I know there are tunnels under FHH.
Yes there are tunnels. I have been in them. Be warned, some exits lead to occupied buildings. The hatches are locked. Be respectful to your surroundings .
I have been to places like this it feels better when you have permission to go and not worry about causing trouble love the channel great video thank you for sharing
Amazing camera. I could watch this three times. You won't Miss A Beat. Yeah I watched it on my TV so the remote control does the work. But I have to go on my phone to leave a comment. Amazing. We have many ghost towns in Connecticut. And one we can't find Johnsonville. You guys make it fun to go through that.🏆🏆
This is amazing. I had NO IDEA !!! That was all even there ! I mean there’s empty neighborhoods everywhere in America . But I didn’t know there was one for here. Was it all drs etc that lived there as part of their ‘package deal ‘ to work there ? I’m a history dork . Between the urbex style and the ghosts - idk which is more interesting. I love for that. Ty . Again . Love seeing you in your natural element
these 360 tours are freaking amazing guys!! i dont know how you havent gotten more views and likes with this!! sharing with everyone i know!! LOVE YOU GUYS!! did any of the buildings have power? can see the lins going to all houses
Really enjoyed this Mr Hawes, I feel funny calling someone by their first name when I haven’t officially met them . It is sad this was left & abandoned when so many would give anything to have a nice home like these in a lil neighborhood like this, myself included. Think of all the homeless people today sleeping on streets when you have homes that could have been used for affordable housing.
a few buddies and I back in the day went to this place to urban explore. also because we had sticky hands and my buddy mentioned that they leave equipment there that we could take and re-sell (he got this idea from watching other people urban explore on youtube). the main building was locked up. but we found the tunnels that connect each building together underground. except it was gated and locked so we couldnt go further in. we were there just to snag stuff, not break anything so we ended our journey there and just explored around the boiler room was a rumored hotspot of cult activity. i went in there myself, other than spray paint stuff on the walls and floor, the only thing of interest was a chair and the upper part of an animal skull on it facing the entrance. the only highlight was we were talking about how there are constant security patrols as we exit one of the buildings and a car drove up right on us. one of my buddies and i pulled up our hoods, turned around and ducked onto the ground. my other buddie jumped over a fence that ended up being into a ditch. we didnt get caught but that was exciting
Very cool. I worked at westboro state hospital in the 90s. It was mostly shut down. Never experienced anything and I don’t think they allow ghost hunting but we as staff were allowed into the tunnels for Halloween and they were just for moving around in snow but claustrophobic and heavy. I appreciate places like this. So much history, not all of it good, but interesting.
@ Jason I agree with you it nice to look and walk around being able to show us and discuss the history this is so much better , not that your show wasn’t one of the greatest shows on tv for keeping it real because in my book y’all killed it but this is nice too , do you still keep in contact with the rest of the team?
We lived in a small town around 2006, my son was a teenager and him and his friends spray painted penis’s on sidewalks and different places in the town, it was the thing to do for teenagers at that time. They were caught and my son was the only one that was truthful and told what he did so the town police didn’t take him to court, instead he spent I think 6 Saturday mornings cleaning the parks and neighborhoods, more or less community service. He learned his lesson and made a good friend of the town worker that was in charge of him. The man actually saw me and told me he was one of the best kids that ever worked for him, no matter what he was told to do he did it without complaining.
Omg...love this 360 view...thank you guys!! I'm approaching 60 and modern technology amazes me.
You have to wonder why they were abandoned like that and not resold. The orphanage building doesn't look like it's in to bad of shape either they could have turned it into something else. It's cool to see abandoned places but also a damn shame to see buildings left and forgotten about.
It doesn't make sense to me either!

It’s sad to see the conditions they lived in and the way the buildings are now.
I love the 360. It looks like the world ended, and this is what is left. It's just crazy. Thank you for sharing.
All I could think of when you walked through the Orphanage were children, looking out the window at the houses, the families, the kids riding bikes and playing and wishing it was them out there.. Great tour, just so sad thinking of those kids.
That's heartbreaking...
Thank you for this walkthrough. Something most of us will never get to see. It is incredible.
It is sad to see buildings go to waste! No more life in them.
Wow it’s so sad that those places were abandoned and left to rot and be vandalized. TY for the 360 walk around Jason and Jimmy
Thank you again God bless
awesome!!!!! If ur ever on the cape I would LOVE to go on a exploration with you. It's on my bucket list.
The 360 very cool
The voice I heard sounded like it said "Get outta here" around 15:49. Love this place, it's very creepy lol Thanks Jason and JV.
The one I heard @15:54 ,it sounded to me like I HEAR YOU.Is that the same one you heard?would you mind putting a timeline?I'd love to hear it if it's not the one i heard.thank u
@@Pattys1967 around 15:49. It's either "Get outta here" or "I'm outta here"
That is what I heard, too
Preserving history with these, amazing.
The OG of ghost hunting. :)
Always good to see JH pop up on the RUclips notifications.
Peace from West Texas.
I bet those houses are timber under all that siding. There’s a beauty about those old hospital area. The buildings have stood the test of time and still standing strong.
I walked through with my son...and yes the architecture...just looking at it you can only imagine how beautiful it once was.
Ty for the historic tour of this part of norwich state hospital...hang on to your videos...i hear it soon will be gone. Much respect to you both...hugs Cat from Ct.❤❤😊😊😊😊🤗🤗🤗
I went here with my son...it's crazy. Sad that it being knocked down...
I just love these 360 tours!♥️🖤♥️

LOVE the 3D camera - this is the PERFECT tool for investigations! Can’t wait until this is applied to the other camera technologies too!
Just yesterday I watched the 3 hour investigation of Norwich hospital with The Paranormal Files and now I see that Jason already been here. More content for me!
I love the 360, it's like being there
Great place to explore and investigate. The cemetery there is very active too.
To be able to look around with you guys is super cool. ❤❤❤
Love this 360-degree viewing. It makes it seem to make one feel like they're there.
First time watching a video of this type, 360.
Looks like a very lonely place. Thank you for another update on your travels.
My friend used to live close by many years and we would walk his dogs through the property, before they it was patrolled by security. Such a cool and creepy place, especially how all the homes were situated!
Would be interesting to see what's left in some of these homes....but I understand not wanting to take the risk
Jason hawes...you rock..keep up the amazing videos..😅😅😅😅❤❤❤❤
Love the 360 video Jason it is awesome.
There were so many interesting facts about the NSH. At one point they had a large farming area to raise all their own vegetables, and some of their meat for the meals. There are also some unmarked cemetery areas, with questionable histories as to why they are there and unmarked.

Wow. What a waste of land and property. Be careful guys!

This is the coolest video, it's like we're walking with you!
Amazing
THIS is legit....finally a tour / exploration with a proper perspective for viewing if you have a vr headset. very well done
Love the 360, wow such a waste of good housing
Really enjoyed this Mr Hawes, I feel funny calling someone by their first name when I haven’t officially met them .

Think of all the homeless people today sleeping on streets when you have homes that could have been used for affordable housing.
I feel like I’m right there with you 😊
I will gladly take one of those homes and bring it back to life!
a few buddies and I back in the day went to this place to urban explore. also because we had sticky hands and my buddy mentioned that they leave equipment there that we could take and re-sell (he got this idea from watching other people urban explore on youtube).
the main building was locked up. but we found the tunnels that connect each building together underground. except it was gated and locked so we couldnt go further in. we were there just to snag stuff, not break anything so we ended our journey there and just explored around
the boiler room was a rumored hotspot of cult activity. i went in there myself, other than spray paint stuff on the walls and floor, the only thing of interest was a chair and the upper part of an animal skull on it facing the entrance.

Love the 360 view..and that could be possible animal blood...

Oooo Creepy
Love the 360. I found myself trying to peak around the corners for you 😂
All the homeless people in the US and there’s a whole neighborhood full of places that could be fixed up end people could live there!
The Mohegan Sun is planning to build something there.
