@@andersonfuller it was a passenger Syncro that I bough $600 then I bought a blue 1983 westy for $500 and also a 1989 westy for $1800 ....3 vans into this one

As a fabricator I am strongly considering using an entire Audi QUATTRO drivetrain flipped upside down in my free tintop Vanagon. I think the rear open differential should drive the front wheels just fine. I now have a FWD Audi A4/VW B5 Passat transmission inverted being propelled by a MK4 ALH TDI engine in my 66 splitty bus. It is freaking amazing. This will be my course of action to create my own sacred SYNCRO propelled by a 280 HP 3.6 VR6 from a B6 Passat/Q7 Audi SUV. Yeah baby.

Why diesel engine ? I am considering getting a gas powered Toyota Hiace for similar adventures. Will need to have it lifted to improve ground clearance and change the tires from regular to all terrain tires for better traction.
We carry only one energy : diesel . It powers our cooktop webasto diesel space heater and engine! Safe fuel that won't blow us up on a highly modified vehicle. Fuel efficiency 30mg gasoline can do 20 at best on these rigs

@@JackAcid I'm across the pond and we call them T3 (transporter 3), T25 if you want to be more technical. Vanagon is strictly US. I'm restoring and 84'. Was about to wack a 1.9tdi inside but swaps are illegal here - bummer. Might just soup up the JX and make it more reliable. Expensive hobby lol
I just got one for free six days ago. I am still in disbelief!!! I don't believe it there was also a Westy with an inline 1.6D that also just just 2 days ago for only $2,500. It was pretty awesome but with some surface rust however it had no title. Mine did and only rust is the lower windshield sill. The rest is STRAIGHT. I think I will likely swap a 3.6 Audi Q7 VR6 in there. 280 HP should move it along quite well. My 66 splitty bus has an ALH TDI. Goodness I adore these machines.
