Hi Cody. Nice catch. I’m new to Washington looking for a good campgrounds and learn how to fish for surf perch after watching a few of your video I have learned a lot just like to know where to go. Thanks for good video.
Yeah thank you so i usually book at oceanshore city state park or kalaloch campground where's easy for fishing it's really nice there but just mosquitoes 🦟
I fished 10+ hours over today and yesterday only caught 2. ocean shores by the jetty and all down the beach. Tried copalis as well. only had gulp sand worms , do I need razor clams?
Every time i go surf perch i like to bring razor clams and dig sand schrimps also with other baits as well just in case I can switch baits if they don't bite And some trip I got skunk too 3 hrs drives
Will the game warden count the babies in the belly? I had the same situation a few days ago in this area, some people say game warden will count the babies.
Technically it's not required and it's not considered individual fish until they are born so they do not count towards your limit and depends where you fish this places a lot of birds when I release it they will eat them
Surfperch are available year-round, the most productive time to fish for them is in the spring and early summer when they school up along sandy shorelines for spawning.

KILLING THOSE PREGNANT FISH! Don't let it get to you. It's just fetal tissue. It's not it's not viable or sustainable. In fact it's just eggs just like when you menstruate. (I hope me and you in particular but just in general because that would be creepy.) But it's like they say: MY FISH BODY MY CHOICE. Pregnant fish... 🤗

@@codyoutdoor thank you very much.
Great video! So much fun to watch you catch those perch. What sizes rod would you recommend please?
8-17" 10ft reel 3k series
Just gotta get out and get your line in the water. The best spots are the ones you find by chance. Stay safe, good luck and have fun!@@sophaldo7424

Just the time of year or are they big and plentiful like this in the winter as well?
Thanks!
Winter will be cold and slow I've been catching this fish The best time from May-August depends on some places you can catch all year-round
Ok Cody. We went to Ocean Shores behind the Silo Hotel and got skunked. Where are you at?
Same here I got skunked couple times good things I move around close to copalis if there's no fish don't stay
Thanks for the info.

Is it normal to keep so many pregnant surf perch? Would it help to release the babies before putting them in the bag?
that's how i always do, release all the babies fish for the future.

My fish body, my choice
Hi Cody is that 🦑 bait ?
Razor clams and sand schrimps
@@codyoutdoor great thank you
I think you’re over the limit when you don’t release those babies.

I would have liked to see those pregnant fish returned to the surf, you were catching plenty of fish, no need to kill them all.

Them eggs are delicious as well
@@quocdp They give live birth, that lay eggs.
Surf perch are extremely abundant and under fished. Theirs a reason why the they can be caught year around
