Thanks for the beautiful memories I used to live on ridge St summer times on Pitt pool pizza after that so much has changed went to ps 140 then junior high school 22 last but not least seward park high school time goes fast
Transition to full-blown gentrification was well underway then, but the worst of the crime times were over and it was still kinda semi-affordable (for some people). The luxury condos were just beginning in the LES/East Village then. Doesn't seem to long ago though. Pangs of pain and sorrow seeing the Twin Towers, nostalgia for Tower Records.
Wow, I lived right around the corner from Pitt on Stanton. Can y'all believe on Pitt & Rivington the little cut through you used to be able to go through to Columbia St. or Baruch you can NO LONGER cut through there ! Unbelievable. If your not from those building you can't go through. I used to ride my bike through there all the time. P.S. at 8:44 as of 2018 that drawing of el Moro is still there.
LES has changed so much ..... it will never be the same like in the 90's use to hang out on 4th n D and pitt st pool every summer ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ night pool on 10th & D
